Strathnairn

Farr (Gaelic: Fàrr) is a large area in Strathnairn, about 12 kilometres (7.5 mi) south of Inverness, in the Highland of Scotland. Much of the area is spread along the B851 single track road. Its boundaries lie just north of Inverernie and Dalveallan, to the south of Socaich, in the west to the Biorraid, and in the east where the Monadhliath Mountains begin. Farr has a primary school, several churches, shop, and a community hall. Farr Wind Farm is found on the Sealbhanaich, an area located in the Monadhliath Mountains to the south east of Farr and Strathnairn.

Inverernie (Gaelic: Inbhir Fhearna) is a small settlement, with a local shop, within Farr and the wider area of Strathnairn in the Highlands of Scotland. This corner of Farr was originally home to Inverernie Estate before it was later sold in the mid 20th century.The spelling of Inverernie accidentally changed to 'Inverarnie' in the latter half of the 20th century, and has remained so ever since. There is also a small croft named 'Inverarnie' half a mile south of Inverernie, below the hill Meall Mòr, whose name is another variation of the Gaelic 'Inbhir Fhearna'. Although both derive from the same Gaelic name, natives have always made a distinction between the two pronunciations.Since the 15th Century, Clan MacPhail was found mainly in the lands around Inverernie.

Balnafoich (Scottish Gaelic: Baile na Faich meaning Township of the Green Field) was once only a small croft, but is now a little settlement lying 7 miles south of Inverness, in Inverness-shire, Scottish Highlands and is in the Scottish council area of Highland.Balnafoich lies on the River Nairn.

Carn Glas is a neolithic chambered cairn burial site near Inverness in Scotland. The site is to the south-east of Achvraid on Essich Moor and consists of three linked cairns on a ridge. The burial site is 116 metres (381 ft) long, and is the longest known chambered cairn in Scotland.It was designated as a scheduled monument in 1964.Other significant sites found nearby are a stone circle at Torbreck and a chambered cairn at Culduthel.

Essich (, Scottish Gaelic: Easaich) is a region of Scotland located between Inverness and Loch Ness. It is located 2.7 kilometres from the centre of Inverness and is serviced by Holm Primary School.

Inverness Royal Academy is a comprehensive secondary school in the city of Inverness in the Highland area of Scotland. A former grammar school with a history dating back to the 13th century, the Academy became a comprehensive in the mid-1970s. It has been at its present site in the Culduthel area of the city since 1977.

Inverness Athletic Football Club is a Scottish football club playing in the North Caledonian Football League currently based in the city of Inverness in the Scottish Highlands.

Culduthel (Gaelic: Cùil Daothail) is an area in the south of the city of Inverness, in the Highland council area of Scotland. The area is largely residential, and is the location of Inverness Royal Academy. One historic building is Culduthel House, a former manor house. This building was used as part of Culduthel Hospital, until the hospital was closed in 1989.Several Bronze Age archeological sites have been found in the area. These include a Clava type cairn and a burial cist.

Bun-sgoil Ghàidhlig Inbhir Nis or Inverness Gaelic Primary School is a primary school in Inverness, Scotland, which teaches through the medium of Scottish Gaelic, commonly known as Gaelic medium education. It opened in August 2007, as the first purpose-built Gaelic-medium school in Scotland.

Milton of Leys (Scottish Gaelic: Baile Muilinn an Leigheis, meaning "Mill-Farm of Medicine" ) is an area of the city of Inverness in the Highland council area of Scotland. It lies on high ground overlooking the Moray Firth, 3 miles (5 km) southeast of the city centre, to the west of the A9 road. Since the 1990s, Milton of Leys has developed largely as a residential settlement. Construction of a local primary school began in June 2010, opening in August 2011. Previously, pupils attended nearby Inshes Primary. Housing development has continued throughout the 21st century, with Milton of Leys being one of the city's fastest growing areas.

Lochardil (/lɒx ardɪl/) (from the Scottish Gaelic: Loch Àrdail meaning the Church Lake) is a residential area in the West of Inverness. The area has an abundance of green spaces, notably MacDonald Park and Lochardil Woods. The local school is Lochardil Primary, with most secondary age pupils attending Inverness Royal Academy. There is a pharmacy, a hairdresser and the Best Western Lochardil House Hotel. There are post boxes on Stratherrick Road and Morven Road. As is the case in the rest of the City, a bus service is provided by Stagecoach Highlands who took over the route from Rapsons' in 2008 (Inverness Courier, 2008) Buses to the city centre run approximately every 30 minutes Monday to Friday, with a reduced timetable in place at weekends.

Daviot (Gaelic: Deimhidh) is a village in the Highland council area of Scotland. It is about 8 kilometres (5 mi) south east of the city of Inverness, next to the A9, the main road to Inverness.
