St. Joseph's Model Higher Secondary School is a private (unaided) Christian mixed-sex English-medium boarding school run by the Syro-Malabar Catholic Archdiocese of Thrissur, located in Kuriachira, Thrissur. It is situated at Kuriachira near Canal Stop, about half a kilometer south of Kuriachira centre. St. Joseph's follows the Kerala State Syllabus. It has 1,526 students from kindergarten to higher secondary school and a Teacher Training Institute. The school was founded in 1961 by Acharya J.C. Chiramal (Chakkoru Master), as per Kerala G.O. (MS) No.422/Edn dated Trivandrum 24.7.1961. Sri.V.V. Giri, former President of India, inaugurated the institution. It was originally established to serve the Catholic minority community, as per the provision of the Article 30(1) of the Indian constitution. It was later directed by Chiramal's son Fr. Antony Jees. After the demise of Jees, the school was entrusted to the Archdiocese of Thrissur. Kindergarten and Lower Primary sections were added in 1993 and 1995 respectively. The high school was upgraded to Higher Secondary School in 2002. The Teacher Training Institute was inaugurated in 2005, and in 2010, the school established an ICSE wing.

Sree Maheswara Temple is a Hindu temple situated at Koorkenchery in Thrissur city of Kerala state. The main idol in this temple is Shiva and was consecrated by Narayana Guru in M. E. 1092. There are sub-shrines for Parvathi, Ganapathi, Murugan, Ayyappan, Krishna, Muthappan, Bhadrakali, Navagrahas and Nāgas (serpent deities). Marth Mariam Cathedral is the cathedral of the Chaldean Syrian Church of India, part of the Assyrian Church of the East. It is located in Thrissur City in the state of Kerala, It is the city's first Christian church inside the fort gates and is the fourth church in the Thrissur Municipal Corporation The church established in 1814 by Sakthan Thampuran, the maharajah of Cochin, for the Chaldaya Suriyani Nasrani (Ancient Indian Christian community) whom he invited to live in Thrissur to strengthen the trade sector of the new city. The church was or A group supporting Chaldean Catholic bishop Elias Mellus was based in Our Lady of Dolours. They eventually broke with the Catholic hierarchy and formed the Chaldean Syrian Church which is part of the universal Assyrian Church of the East. Mart Mariam church, Thrissur now serves as the cathedral of the Chaldean Syrian Church of India which is part of the universal Assyrian Church of the East.

Our Lady of Dolours Basilica alias Puthenpally (Malayalam: പുത്തൻപള്ളി, meaning: New Church) is a minor basilica of the Syro-Malabar Catholic Church in Thrissur City in Kerala, India. The tallest church in India and the third tallest in Asia, it is famous for its Gothic style architecture. Built in fine Indo-Gothic style with an area of 25,000 square feet (2,300 m2), it has soaring belfries at the entrance, double-storeyed aisles all along the nave and transepts, and eleven altars, five on either side of the main one. It is the largest church in Kerala and its exuberant interior decorations include fine specimens of murals, icons and statues of saints, and scenes from the Scriptures.
