Easton Historic District (Easton, Pennsylvania)

The State Theatre, officially known as the State Theatre Center for the Arts, is a 1,500-seat, historic, American theater that is located in the City of Easton, Northampton County, Pennsylvania. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

Nurture Nature Center (NNC) is a science-based education center focused on engaging the public on environmental risk topics. NNC is located in the city of Easton, Pennsylvania, roughly 55 miles (89 km) north of Philadelphia and 70 miles (110 km) west of New York City. It was founded by Theodore W. The Easton Area Public Library serves Easton, Pennsylvania in Northampton County, Pennsylvania. It is a Carnegie library and was predated by a community library constructed by the Easton Library Company in 1811. With a grant in 1901 for $57,000 by industrialist Andrew Carnegie a new library began construction at 515 Church Street and was completed in 1903.The library system consists of the Main library serving as the headquarters, and the Palmer Branch located at 1 Weller Place, Palmer Township which was constructed in 1986.The main location in Easton, Pennsylvania includes the Marx Room, which was added in 1985 to serve as a local history room. The Peace Candle is a tower-like structure erected every Christmas season in Easton, Pennsylvania. The approximately 106-foot (32 m) tall structure, which resembles a giant candle, is assembled each year over the Soldiers' & Sailors' Monument, a Civil War memorial located in the city's Centre Square. It is typically assembled in mid November and lighted over Thanksgiving weekend and disassembled in early February each year.The Peace Candle was first erected in 1951, and has been put up every year (except two) since then. Due to damage or disrepair, the Peace Candle has been replaced with new candle structures twice since the original construction. The first candle lasted until 1968, the second candle from 1969 to 1989, and the current candle was built in 1990.The structure is dedicated to the Easton area men and women who have served or are serving in the United States armed forces.It has been said to be the largest non-wax Christmas candle in the country. Although conceived with the hopes of restoring Easton's pre-20th century reputation for elaborate Christmas decorations, city officials also believed a candle would serve as a symbol of peace for all religions and denominations. Due to its symbolism for peace and its placement over a Civil War monument, the candle has been the site of several anti-war protests over the decades. Some have criticized the Peace Candle, calling it a symbol of the over-commercialization of Christmas, and condemning the fact that it covers a war monument.

The Fred A. Williams Easton Intermodal Transportation Center is a bus terminal in downtown Easton, Pennsylvania. It serves as a hub for local routes in the Lehigh Valley area operated by LANta and for intercity routes operated by various companies. In addition to buses, the center hosts Easton's city hall and a restaurant. The center opened in 2015.

The Herman Simon House is a historic home located in Easton, Northampton County, Pennsylvania. It was built in 1902 for Herman Simon, an immigrant from Germany who became a wealthy silk manufacturer.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

Easton House, also known as the Bachmann Publick House and George Taylor's Easton Property, is a historic inn and tavern located at Easton in Northampton County, Pennsylvania. It was built in 1753, and is a 2 3/4 story rubble limestone building, with squared corners, in the Georgian style. Easton House was expanded by George Taylor (c. 1716–1781) in 1765, who used it as a residence and tavern. A red clay brick addition was built in 1828. The building was the site of a number of important judicial proceedings when it housed the Magistrates Court in the early 19th century.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

The prison is situated adjacent to the Northampton County Courthouse and consists of four inter-connected buildings. It contains 15 separate housing units and a community corrections facility (work release) with a capacity of 913 inmates.

The Peace Candle, a candle-like structure, is assembled and disassembled every year atop the Civil War monument for the Christmas season.Norfolk Southern Railway's Lehigh Line, formerly the main line of the Lehigh Valley Railroad, runs through Easton on its way to Bethlehem and Allentown heading west across the Delaware River to Phillipsburg, New Jersey. Easton is located 14 miles (23 km) northeast of Allentown, 51 miles (82 km) north of Philadelphia, and 64 miles (103 km) west of New York City.

Easton is a defunct train station in Easton, Pennsylvania. It was originally built by the Lehigh Valley Railroad. As of 2017, the structure still exists and was blighted for at least 20 years, since its closing in the 1970s. The city of Easton obtained permission from Norfolk Southern Railway to clean up the property. The location only recently became a focal point for the city with the opening of Interstate 78 in the 1990s.The Central Railroad of New Jersey (CNJ) had an Easton station of its own on the other side of the Lehigh River.
