Velbert-Rosenhügel station

Velbert-Neviges station is located in the city of Velbert in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. It is on the Wuppertal-Vohwinkel–Essen-Überruhr line.

The Prince William Railway Company (German: Prinz-Wilhelm-Eisenbahn-Gesellschaft, PWE) was an early horse-drawn railway in Germany. It was founded as the Deil Valley Railway Company (Deilthaler Eisenbahn Aktiengesellschaft) in 1828 and renamed in 1831. It built a 820 mm (2 ft 8+9⁄32 in) narrow gauge line that ran for a Prussian mile (7,532 metres or 8,237 yards) along the Deilbach valley from a point near Kupferdreh Old Station in Hinsbeck, a suburb of Kupferdreh (now part of Essen), to Nierenhof near Langenberg (now part of Velbert). This route is now part of the Wuppertal-Vohwinkel–Essen-Überruhr railway and served by Rhine-Ruhr S-Bahn line S9 trains. On 20 September 1831 the railway was opened by Prince William, the brother of the King of Prussia at the time, and renamed in honour of the prince. It operated as a horse-drawn railway carrying coal until 1844, but from 1833 it also carried passengers. In 1847, it was converted to 1,435 mm (4 ft 8+1⁄2 in) standard gauge, extended north to Steele Süd and south to Vohwinkel (in Wuppertal), converted to steam operation and renamed the Steele-Vohwinkler Eisenbahn.

Maria, Königin des Friedens (Mary, Queen of Peace) is a pilgrimage church and parish in Neviges, part of Velbert, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The pilgrimage dates back to 1676. Neviges was the home of a Franciscan monastery from 1675 until the end of 2019. A church dedicated to the Immaculate Conception in 1728 became too small for the growing numbers of pilgrims in the 20th century. Inspired by the Second Vatican Council, Cardinal Josef Frings of Cologne was open to a radically new church building. Gottfried Böhm designed a building in brutalist style which won the cardinal's approval. It was consecrated in 1968, and also became known as the Mariendom and Wallfahrtsdom. It is the second largest church in the Diocese of Cologne, after Cologne Cathedral. It is also the second largest church north of the Alps. The concrete structure with an irregular roof and an interior like a forum became the architect's signature building, and is regarded as one of the important "spatial creations" in 20th-century architecture.

They produce a range of upright and cylinder vacuum cleaners for domestic and commercial use. Sebo vacuum cleaners are endorsed by Allergy UK (the British Allergy Foundation). Sebo stands for SEmigewerbliche BOdenpflege, German for semi-commercial floor care.

Wülfrath-Aprath station is located in the town of Wülfrath in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. It is on the Wuppertal-Vohwinkel–Essen-Überruhr line. The station was originally opened in 1847, but closed in 1964 or 1965. A station building was built in 1848, but it burnt down in 1990. The station was re-established in 2002 and is classified by Deutsche Bahn as a category 5 station.The station is served by Rhine-Ruhr S-Bahn line S 9 (Recklinghausen / Haltern– Gladbeck - Wuppertal - Hagen), operating every 30 minutes during the day.It is also served by two bus routes operated by WSW mobil: 601 (at 60 minute intervals) and 621 (at 20 minute intervals).

Elberfeld is a municipal subdivision of the German city of Wuppertal; it was an independent town until 1929.

Utopiastadt (literally: "Utopia city") is a sociocultural center in Wuppertal, Germany, located in the city district of Elberfeld in the buildings of the now defunct railway station Wuppertal-Mirke, located at the "Nordbahntrasse", the railway now converted to a bike freeway. Most activities are performed by volunteers.

The Wuppertal Schwebebahn accident (German: Schwebebahnunfall) took place on 12 April 1999 on a stretch of track near Robert-Daum-Platz station. In this accident involving car number 4 from the WSW GTW 72 series, five persons lost their lives while 47 were injured, some of them seriously. This was the worst accident in the railway's history and, to date, the only one since the railway opened in 1901 to have had a deadly outcome.
