St. Mary's Cathedral (Ogdensburg, New York)

Ogdensburg is a city in St. Lawrence County, New York, United States. The population was 10,436 at the 2019 census. In the late 18th century, European-American settlers named the community after American land owner and developer Samuel Ogden. The city is at the northern border of New York at the mouth of the Oswegatchie River on the south bank of the St. Lawrence River. The only formally designated city in the county, it is located between Massena, New York to the east and Brockville, Ontario to the west. The port of Ogdensburg is the only U.S. port on the St. Lawrence Seaway. The Ogdensburg–Prescott International Bridge, northeast of the city, links the United States and Canada, with a direct highway from Prescott to Ottawa, the capital of Canada.

Ogdensburg Armory is a historic National Guard armory building located at Ogdensburg in St. Lawrence County, New York. It was built in 1898 and designed by State architect Isaac G. Perry. It consists of a 2-story, hip-roofed administration building and a large gable-roofed drill shed. It is built of load-bearing, reddish-brown Potsdam sandstone walls built upon a raised, rusticated, light-gray limestone foundation. The main block features 5-, 4-, and 3+1⁄2-story towers.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1995.

The Diocese of Ogdensburg (Latin: Dioecesis Ogdensburgensis) is a Latin Church ecclesiastical territory, or diocese, of the Catholic Church in the North Country region of New York State in the United States. It is a suffragan diocese in the ecclesiastical province of the Archdiocese of New York. Its cathedral is St. Mary's in Ogdensburg. The Diocese of Ogdensburg was founded on February 16, 1872. It comprises the entirety of Clinton, Essex, Lewis, Hamilton and St. Lawrence counties and the northern portion of Herkimer county. The bishop is Terry Ronald LaValley.

Judge John Fine House is a historic home located at Ogdensburg in St. Lawrence County, New York. It is a 2-story, three-bay Greek Revival-style residence appended to an earlier 1+1⁄2-story rear wing, built about 1823. Both sections are built of local blue limestone and feature gabled roofs.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.

U.S. Post Office-Ogdensburg is a historic post office building located at Ogdensburg in St. Lawrence County, New York. It was designed and built in 1867–1870, and is a two-story structure of regular ashlar stone blocks measuring 120 feet by 60 feet. It originally featured an octagonal domed cupola, but that was removed in 1906. It was designed by the Office of the Supervising Architect of the Treasury Department under Alfred B. Mullett. In 2009, the United States Congress enacted legislation renaming the building the Frederic Remington Post Office Building, in honor of painter Frederic Remington, who spent his formative childhood years in that city. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977.

Acker and Evans Law Office (also known as Ogdensburg Bank) is a historic office building in Ogdensburg, New York, United States. It is a rectangular Greek Revival style structure with a facade of smooth-faced, locally quarried white marble. It was built about 1830 as a bank, then used as a ticket agency, insurance office, express office, and finally as a law office.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

The district includes seven contributing buildings, one contributing site, and one contributing object. They include the Remington Art Museum (1809–10), Ogdensburg Public Library (1810), Library Park, and The Soldiers and Sailors Monument.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

The Oswegatchie Pumping Station is a pumping station on the Oswegatchie River at Ogdensburg in St. Lawrence County, New York. It was built in 1868 of random ashlar limestone. It is a two-story fortress like structure which features engaged tower projections at each of its four corners.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.

Ogdensburg Free Academy is a public high school in Ogdensburg, New York. It consists of around 750 or more students in the 7th through 12th grade. The famous Golden Dome is located on State Street and attracts residents from across the North Country. Every year, the Ogdensburg Boys & Girls Clubs of America hosts an 'Expo' where local businesses can get the most advertisement. There are also performances (such as the local dance studio or choir) in the Golden Dome.

New York State Armory , also known as "The Arsenal," is a historic National Guard armory building located at Ogdensburg in St. Lawrence County, New York. It is a rectangular, two story structure built of ransom ashlar block with central pavilions projecting on its north and south elevations. The main facade features a central pavilion with a tower rising above the roofline and terminating in a corbeled and crenellated parapet. It was designed by noted Syracuse architect Horatio Nelson White. The building ceased being used by the State militia in 1873 and used by the city of Ogdensburg into the 1960s. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.The Armory is still owned by NY state and is still occupied by the 2-108th Infantry Battalion, New York Army National Guard. The city of Ogdensburg does not have any responsibility or use of this building unless approved by NY state.

The Oswegatchie River is a 137-mile-long (220 km) river in northern New York that flows from the Adirondack Mountains north to the Saint Lawrence River. The Oswegatchie River begins at Partlow Lake in Hamilton County, New York. The river continues through Cranberry Lake which was 'doubled in size' through construction of a dam in the late 1860s. The river continues from the dam to Gouverneur, to near Talcville in St. Lawrence County, where it joins the West Branch. Much of it is within Adirondack State Park. The city of Ogdensburg developed at the mouth of the river at its confluence with the St. Lawrence.
