Sukhyi Estuary, or Sukhyi Lyman (Ukrainian: Сухий лиман - dried estuary), is on open estuary in the north-western Black Sea, near the cities of Odesa and Chornomorsk, Ukraine. In 1957 the estuary was connected to the sea via 14-m depth navigation canal, therefore the water body de facto transformed to the marine bay. Upper site of the estuary is more shallow, up to 1.5 m depth. Northern and western parts are separated by artificial dam and transformed to fresh water ponds. The Dalnyk River inflows to the estuary. The modern name, "Dry Estuary", the water body have got in the time when it was isolated from the Black Sea. That time the estuary dried regularly, sometime up to 1 km² area. The earlier name is Kleinliebenthal Estuary, origine from the German: Kleinliebenthal, "Small valley of love". The name of the water body is given by German colonists. The upper part of the estuary is located in two valleys: Kleinliebenthal, "Small valley of love". The main part of the estuary is located in this valley. The Dalnyk River inflows in this part. On the coast is a village Malodolynske (old name is Kleinliebenthal). Großliebenthal, "Grand valley of love". In this valley is a bay, the Akkarzhanka River inflows in which. On the coast is a village Velykodolynske (old name is Großliebenthal).The estuary is a place of spawning and feeding of fish, such as flounder, gobies (the grass goby is most numerous), sand-smelts, mullets.

Oleksandrivka (Ukrainian: Олександрівка, Russian: Александровка) is a rural settlement in Odesa Raion of Odesa Oblast in Ukraine. It is located on the right bank of Sukhyi Estuary adjacent to the city of Chornomorsk. Oleksandrivka belongs to Chornomorsk urban hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. Population: 7,495 (2022 estimate)

Chornomorsk urban hromada (Ukrainian: Чорноморська міська громада) is a hromada in Odesa Raion of Odesa Oblast in southwestern Ukraine. Population: 71,733 (2020 est.) The hromada consists of a city of Chornomorsk, one rural settlement (Oleksandrivka) and two villages (Burlacha Balka and Malodolynske).

The Port of Chornomorsk, or Sea Port of Chornomorsk (Ukrainian: Морський порт Чорноморськ, romanized: Morskyi port Chornomorsk), is a port in the city of Chornomorsk, Ukraine. It is located on the north-western shore of Black Sea at Sukhyi Estuary, to the south-west from Odesa. The Port of Chornomorsk is a universal seaport. Across the estuary in the village of Burlacha Balka is located the Illichivsk Fishing Seaport and the Illichivsk ferry, while further inland is located the ship maintenance factory. The city Chornomorsk, where the port is located, used to be named Illichivsk; due to decommunization laws, Chornomorsk gained its current name in February 2016.

Tairove settlement hromada is a hromada in Odesa Raion of Odesa Oblast in southwestern Ukraine. Population: 12,311 (2020 est.) The hromada consists of a rural settlement (Tairove) and 3 villages: Balka Lymanka Sukhyi Lyman.

Velykodolynske (Ukrainian: Великодолинське, Russian: Великодолинское) is a rural settlement in Odesa Raion of Odesa Oblast in Ukraine. It is located approximately 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) southwest of the city of Odesa and 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) from the Black Sea coast. Velykodolynske hosts the administration of Velykodolynske settlement hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. Population: 14,012 (2022 estimate)

Lustdorf (Ukrainian: Люстдорф, romanized: Liustdorf), formerly known as Chornomorka (Ukrainian: Чорноморка; Russian: Черноморка, romanized: Chernomorka), is a spa town and microdistrict of Odesa, Ukraine.

Lymanka (Ukrainian: Лиманка, until 2016 called Mizikevycha Ukrainian: Мізікевича) is a village in Odesa Raion of Odesa Oblast, Ukraine. It belongs to Tairove settlement hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. As of 2019, its population was 10590.Until 18 July 2020, Lymanka belonged to Ovidiopol Raion. The raion was abolished in July 2020 as part of the administrative reform of Ukraine, which reduced the number of raions of Odesa Oblast to seven. The area of Ovidiopol Raion was split between Odesa and Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi Raions, with Lymanka being transferred to Odesa Raion.

Velykodolynske settlement hromada (Ukrainian: Великодолинська селищна громада) is a hromada in Odesa Raion of Odesa Oblast in southwestern Ukraine. Population: 16,797 (2020 est.) The hromada consists of two rural settlement of Velykodolynske and a villages of Molodizhne.

The Tatarka common graves were mass graves discovered in April–August 1943, during World War II, by Axis-allied Romanian troops occupying Transnistria, on a lot of 1,000 m2 (11,000 sq ft) in Tatarka, now Prylymanske, in Odesa Raion, near Odesa. Some 42 separate common graves of several dozen bodies each were identified, containing between 3,500 and 5,000 bodies, of which 516 were exhumed, studied, and buried in a cemetery before the region became a front line. The commission set up by the Romanian authorities to investigate these graves reported that among the dead were persons arrested in the Moldavian ASSR in 1938–1940 and in Bessarabia and northern Bukovina in 1940–1941.: 262 : 46–47 : 252 Excavation of the Tatarka site was resumed in 2021. After the discovery of new documents from the Romanian archives by an Odesa-based historian, Oleksandr Babich, further 29 mass graves were found. The graves contain the remains of between 5,000 and 8,000 people executed by the NKVD.
