Medical Museion (Copenhagen)

The Royal Danish Academy of Surgery (Danish: Det Kongelige Kirurgiske Akademi), or Academia Chirurgorum Regia, was an educational institution which existed from 1785 until 1842 in Copenhagen, Denmark. Its former building at Bredgade now houses Medical Museion, University of Copenhagen's museum of medicine.

The Titken House (Danish: Titkens Gård) is a listed property situated at the corner of Bredgade (No. 60) and Fredericiagade (No. 18) in the Frederiksstaden district of central Copenhagen, Denmark.

Bredgade 63–65 are two identical Renaissance Revival style properties situated on Bredgade, adjacent to the small garden complex in front of Østre Landsret, in the Frederiksstaden of central Copenhagen. Denmark. Both buildings were individually listed in the Danish registry of protected buildings and places in 1988. The Mexican Embassy is based at No. 65.

Saint Ansgar's Cathedral (Danish: Sankt Ansgars Kirke — Katolsk Domkirke) in Copenhagen, Denmark is the principal church of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Copenhagen, which encompasses all of Denmark, including the Faroe Islands and Greenland. It was consecrated in 1842 and became a cathedral in 1941.

The royal Frederiks Hospital was Denmark's first hospital in the present-day meaning of the word. It was founded by king Frederik V and financed by the earnings from the Norwegian Postal Service.The buildings, situated in Bredgade in Copenhagen and currently housing the Danish Museum of Art & Design, were, along with the rest of Frederiksstaden, designed by Nicolai Eigtved and Lauritz de Thurah and built in 1752-1757. It opened on March 31, 1757 on the birthday of Frederick V. The hospital was run as an independent institution with the purpose of giving free care and cure to patients without means. About two thirds of the patients were treated free of charge. It was at one time the seat of the Fødsels- og Pleiestiftelsen.Until 1848 Frederiks Hospital was managed by the Danish Chancellory, from 1848 to 1871 by the Ministry of Justice and from there on by the Ministry of Church and Education. On November 11, 1855, the philosopher Søren Kierkegaard died here. The hospital was closed in 1910 with the founding of Rigshospitalet. The building was remodelled in the 1920s to house the Danish Museum of Decorative Art, now the Danish Museum of Art & Design.

The (A. N.) Hansen Mansion (Danish: A. N. Hansens Palæ) is a Neoclassical town house in the Frederiksstaden neighbourhood of central Copenhagen, Denmark. Completed in 1835 to designs by Jørgen Hansen Koch, it now houses a fashion innovation centre.

The Dehn Mansion is one of two identical but mirror-imag Rococo-style town mansions on Bredgade, flanking the entrance to Amalienborg via Frederiksgade, in the Frederiksstaden district of Copenhagen, Denmark. It takes its name after Friedrich Ludwig von Dehn, its first owner. The mansion was later divided into two separate properties. The larger, northn part of the mansion is now owned by the Danish Association of Pharmaconomists. The southern part (Frederiksgade 17) is owned by Karberghus. The building was listed in the Danish registry of protected buildings and places in 1918.

The Alexander Nevsky Church (Danish: Skt. Aleksander Nevskij Kirke) is the only Russian Orthodox church in Copenhagen. It was built by the Russian Government between 1881 and 1883, prompted by Princess Dagmar of Denmark's marriage to Alexander Alexandrovich on 9 November 1866 and their later ascent to the Russian throne as Tsar Alexander III of Russia and Tsaritsa Maria Feodorovna. The church is dedicated to the Russian patron saint Alexander Nevsky.

The Østre Landsret (the Eastern High Court) is one of Denmark's two High Courts, along with the Vestre Landsret (Western High Court). Both High Courts function as a civil and criminal appellate court for cases from the subordinate courts and furthermore as a court of first instance in significant civil cases with issues of principle. The Østre Landsret sits in Copenhagen but has chambers in some Eastern towns and cities, such as Odense, used only for criminal cases. It has jurisdiction over all County Courts in Zealand, Funen, Lolland, Falster and Bornholm as well as the Faroe Islands. A municipal court decision can always be appealed to a High Court - if the disputed claim exceeds DKK 10.000. First instance civil cases may only be brought before the High Court if the disputed claim exceeds DKK 1.000.000. The Østre Landsret has one President and 58 judges. Like the Vestre Landsret, it is split into chambers, each consisting of three High Court judges. Though the President of the High Court appoints a presiding judge for each chamber, all decisions are reached by a simple majority, in all types of cases. Østre Landsret was established in 1919.

Frederiksgade is a street in the Frederiksstaden neighbourhood of central Copenhagen. It runs east from Store Kongensgade to Toldbodgade on the waterfront, passing the Marble Church, Bredgade and Amaliegade on the way. At the Marble Church the street splits and curves around both sides of the church before rejoining on its other side.

The Designmuseum Denmark (Danish: Designmuseum Danmark) is a museum in Copenhagen for Danish and international design and crafts. It features works of famous Danish designers like Arne Jacobsen, Jacob Jensen and Kaare Klint, who was one of the two architects who remodeled the former Frederiks Hospital (built 1752–57) into a museum in the 1920s. The exhibition also features a variety of Chinese and German porcelain. The museum was known as the Danish Museum of Art & Design (Danish: Kunstindustrimuseet) until 2011 and known as the Danish Museum of Decorative Art prior. The museum is currently closed for major renovations, and is expected to reopen to the public in early 2022.

Frederiksstaden is a district in Copenhagen, Denmark. Constructed during the reign of Frederick V in the second half of the 18th century, it is considered to be one of the most important rococo complexes in Europe and was included in the 2006 Danish Culture Canon. It was developed to commemorate the 300 years jubilee of the House of Oldenburg ascending to the Danish throne. A. G. Moltke was in charge of the project and Nicolai Eigtved was the main architect. Frederiksstaden has Amalienborg Palace, the Danish residence palace complex with François Joseph Saly's equestrian statue monument to King Frederik V of Denmark in the middle of the octagonal plaza, and Frederik's Church at its center. Together they create an axis that was extended with the creation of the new Copenhagen Opera House in 2005 on the other side of the harbor basin. The district is characterized by straight broad streets in a straight-angled street layout. The streets are lined by bourgeois houses, mansions and palaces. Another important building in the district is the royal Frederiks Hospital which was Denmark's first hospital in the present-day meaning of the word. It now houses the Danish Museum of Art & Design.
