Außenalster (pronounced [ˈaʊsn̩ˌʔalstɐ] (listen)) or Outer Alster Lake is the larger one of two artificial lakes, which are formed by the Alster River and are both located within the city limits of Hamburg, Germany. The other lake is the Binnenalster. The Außenalster and its shores are used by the inhabitants of Hamburg for many sport and recreational purposes, such as sailing and rowing.

The Monument to the X-ray and Radium Martyrs of All Nations (also known as the X-ray Martyrs' Memorial) is a memorial in Hamburg, Germany, commemorating those who died due to their work with the use of radiation, particularly X-rays, in medicine. It was unveiled on the grounds of St Georg (St George's) Hospital (now the Asklepios Klinik St Georg), on 4 April 1936 by the Deutsche Röntgengesellschaft (the Röntgen Society of Germany).When unveiled, the memorial included 169 names, from fifteen nations, listed alphabetically; by 1959 there were 359, with the additions listed on four separate stone plaques, beside the original columnar stone memorial.

The Alster-Schwimmhalle is one of Germany's larger aquatics centers, located in the Hamburg district of Hohenfelde. Opened in 1973, it has regularly hosted various national and international swimming competitions. The Alster-Schwimmhalle is notable for its 102 m (335 ft) by 52 m (171 ft) double hyperbolic-paraboloid concrete-shell roof structure, designed by Jörg Schlaich, then partner at Stuttgart-based engineering firm Leonhardt & Andrä. Resting on three bearings and only 8 cm (3.1 in) thin, the concrete roof remains one the world's largest of its kind. Reminiscent of a butterfly –an allegory to its function as a swimming venue– the airy roof structure earned the Alsterschwimmhalle its nickname as "Schwimmoper" (Aquatic Opera). The building was substantially renovated in 2007 at a cost of approx 1 mio EUR. A further major renovation is planned for 2020 to 2024 at an expected cost of 60 mio EUR, closing the facility for four years.

Domkirche St. Marien (English: St. Mary's Cathedral) is a Roman Catholic cathedral in Sankt Georg, Hamburg, Germany, and the metropolitan cathedral of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Hamburg (as of 1995). It was the first new Roman Catholic church built in Hamburg since the Reformation.

The Guest House of the Senate of Hamburg (German: Gästehaus des Hamburger Senats) is a villa on the Außenalster in the Hamburg borough of Uhlenhorst. It was built in 1868 as a residence for building materials trader Johann Friedrich Krogmann. Designed by Martin Haller, the villa has two and a half floors and white plaster facades. After Krogmann's death it was sold to merchant Adolf Oetling in 1880.The building was designated a Kulturdenkmal (cultural heritage site) by the city of Hamburg in 1958. In 1965 it became the guest house for "high-ranking and highest-ranking" guests of Hamburg, first accommodating Elizabeth II and her husband. Other notable guests include Leonid Brezhnev, the Dalai Lama, Jassir Arafat, Henry Kissinger and Donald Trump.The building was renovated in 1986 for 2.5 million mark. The internal decor was influenced by Christa von Dohnanyi, the wife of then-mayor Klaus von Dohnanyi, and features bright colors, mostly white, with rich stucco ornaments.

Al-Quds Mosque Hamburg (Arabic: مسجد القدس, meaning "Jerusalem", or Masjid Taiba مسجد طيبة) was a mosque in Hamburg, Germany between 1993 and 2010 when it was shut down by German security officials. The mosque is known for preaching a radical form of Sunni Islam. Al-Quds mosque was attended by some of the September 11 attackers including Mohamed Atta, Marwan al-Shehhi, Ramzi bin al-Shibh, and Ziad Jarrah who formed the Hamburg cell.

The station is close to the St. Georg hospital and the main campus of the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences.
