Rheinhausen station

Rheinhausen Ost (east) is a station designated as a Haltepunkt (halt) in the Duisburg suburb of Rheinhausen in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. It was built in 1907 after the commissioning of the Rheinhausen–Kleve railway on the left (western) bank of the Lower Rhine for workers of the Krupp’s steel works. The station was directly at the main entrance to the steel works, Tor 1 (gate 1), which is now heritage-listed.

Angerbach is a right tributary of the Rhine in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It flows through Wülfrath and Ratingen, and discharges into the Rhine in Angerhausen, a district in the southern part of Duisburg.

Rheinhausen (German pronunciation: [ʁaɪnˈhaʊzən]) is a district of the city of Duisburg in Germany, with a population of 78,203 (December 31, 2020) and an area of 38.68 km². It lies on the left bank of the river Rhine. Rheinhausen consists of the neighbourhoods: Rumeln-Kaldenhausen, Hochemmerich (including Asterlagen), Bergheim (including Trompet-Oestrum), Friemersheim, and the central part: Rheinhausen-Mitte, which has a population of 10,666. It has railway stations, Rheinhausen station and Rheinhausen Ost station on the Osterath–Dortmund Süd railway.

Tiger and Turtle – Magic Mountain is an art installation and landmark in Angerpark, Duisburg, Germany, built in 2011. It was designed by Ulrich Genth and Heike Mutter. It resembles a roller coaster, but it is a walkway with stairs. Its vertical loop continues the walkway and stairs, but it is unwalkable and is blocked off. In 2013, Tiger and Turtle – Magic Mountain was ranked as #6 on HuffPost's list of Most Extreme Staircases.

The Bridge of Solidarity (German: 'Brücke der Solidarität') is a bridge across the Rhine between the boroughs of Rheinhausen and Hochfeld in the city of Duisburg.

The Duisburg–Hochfeld railway bridge (German: Duisburg-Hochfelder Eisenbahnbrücke) spans the Rhine in the German city of Duisburg on the Duisburg-Ruhrort–Mönchengladbach line. The first bridge was built by the Rhenish Railway Company and put into operation at the end of 1873. It was replaced by a new bridge in 1927, which was badly damaged during the Second World War, but rebuilt and is still serves rail traffic between the Ruhr region and Aachen.

Düsseldorf is one of the five Regierungsbezirke of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, located in the north-west of the country. It covers the western part of the Ruhr Area, as well as the Niederrheinische Tiefebene, the lower Rhine area. It is the most populated of all German administrative areas of the kind. It is the only area in Germany where the traditional dialects are Low Franconian, rather than Low German or High German. It was created as a subdivision of the Prussian Rhineland when Prussia reformed its internal administration in 1815. In 1822 the Regierungsbezirk Kleve was incorporated into Regierungbezirk Düsseldorf. Its highest point is the Brodtberg (378 m).

Krefeld-Hohenbudberg Chempark station is a station in northern Uerdingen and near the suburb of Hohenbudberg in the city of Krefeld in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. It was originally called Hohenbudberg Bayerwerk and it is named after the Bayer chemical works in Hohenbudberg.

Duisburg-Hochfeld Süd station is a station with a large area of rail tracks in Duisburg in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. It is connected to several important railway lines. In addition, several tracks connect to Duisburg Central Station and various industrial tracks connect with the station area. It is classified by Deutsche Bahn as a category 5 station.

Stadtwerketurm is a chimney of Duisburg. It was built in 1966–67 and consists of four tubes. One of these tubes contains an elevator, the others are used for smoke guiding. It Stands at least more than 7 metres tall.

The Vulkanstraße is a street in Duisburg, Germany that is the location of the city's red-light district. There are a number of brothels in the street including Laufhaus. It is the largest red-light district in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia.The brothels in Vulkanstraße had a total of 432 rooms in mid-2013. According to an estimate by the Express, the operators generate a seven-digit profit per month.On October 31, 2009 there were massive clashes between the Bandidos and the Hells Angels in Vulkanstraße . The local police had to call in the Bereitschaftspolizei (riot police) for reinforcements. While the Bandidos controlled the Ruhr area, the Hells Angels claimed the Rhineland for themselves; interests overlap in Duisburg. Other competitors included the Satudarah.In 2011 there were plans to move the red-light district to Duisburg, but there was strong opposition. The Vulkanstraße could not be closed without providing an alternate venue. "This would amount to a professional ban and would not be accepted by the courts," according to the city administration. Later in the same year the construction of another brothel on the Vulkanstraße was approved by the District Council.Legal disputes began in 2012 over the "brothel tax" introduced by Duisburg. The city's revenue from the tax was estimated to be 500,000 euros.In 2013, the Greens and leftists in the Duisburg city council called for an advice centre for prostitutes. The "Lily" advice centre was set up in 2015. In their annual report in 2016, Lily reported that 500 women worked as prostitutes and the area, in 10 brothels with 440 rooms. They also reported a high proportion of STIs amongst the women.

The Duisburg tramway network (German: Straßenbahnnetz Duisburg) is a network of tramways forming part of the public transport system in Duisburg, a city in the federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. Opened in 1881, the network has been operated since 1940 by the Duisburger Verkehrsgesellschaft (DVG), and is integrated in the Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Ruhr (VRR). It now forms part of the larger Duisburg Stadtbahn system, which in turn makes up part of the Rhine-Ruhr Stadtbahn system.
