Evan Edward Worthing Early College High School is a secondary school located in the Sunnyside area of Houston, Texas, United States.Worthing serves grades 9 through 12 and is a part of the Houston Independent School District. Worthing has Houston ISD's magnet program for Mathematics, Science and Technology.

South Park is a broad post-World War II development in the south-central area of Houston, Texas, a few miles south of MacGregor Park and directly south of the 610 Loop. According to the 2000 Census, the community has a population of 22,282. 81% of the South Park population is African American, compared to 25% for the city as a whole. Houston's Martin Luther King Boulevard (formerly South Park Boulevard) runs through the area. Reflecting its postwar origins, many streets in South Park are named after World War II battle sites and persons. In the 1980s and 1990s crime became a key issue for South Park. Katharine Shilcutt of the Houston Press said "South Park is an overgrown garden these days, its soil only able to be tilled by the most determined or the most desperate. It shows no sign that it will grow again any time in the near future."

South Early College High School (SECHS), formerly Empowerment South Early College High School and Empowerment College Preparatory High School, is a college-preparatory high school in Houston, Texas, US. It is a part of the Houston Independent School District. It was previously located on the campus of Albert Thomas Middle School and then at Jones High School The school opened in August 2005. Empowerment merged with South Early College High School in 2010.Its current location, at 1930 Airport Boulevard, is on the South Campus of Houston Community College began construction in 2014 and opened in August 2016.The school offers its students the opportunity to earn an associate degree while concurrently achieving a high school degree.

Jones Futures Academy, previously Jesse H. Jones High School, is a public high school in South Park, Houston, Texas, United States. It has Dual Credit Magnet Program with emphasis in Health Sciences and Petroleum Engineering. Students who maintain the course of the entire program would graduate high school in May/June of their Sr. year and will have the ability to receive an associate degree in August following their graduation in one of their offered degree programs. Jones, which serves grades 9 through 12, is a part of the Houston Independent School District. Jones was named after Jesse Holman Jones. As of 2010 Empowerment South Early College High School is located on the Jones campus. As of 2014 Milby High School students in grades 10-12 were housed in this campus.

Cloverland is a neighborhood located on the south side of Houston, Texas, United States. Cloverland was the home neighborhood for Lil Flip and many other Houston rappers. In 2005, Cloverburger, a hamburger joint in the neighborhood located at 4515 Mowery Road, was the site of the T.I./Lil Flip altercation.

Stella, in Harris County, Texas was formerly an unincorporated area located approximately 10 miles southwest of downtown Houston. It existed there during the late 1800s through the 1920s and then it disappeared from area maps. During the 1950s the area was annexed into the City of HoustonOver the years various railroad lines went through, crossed, and connected with the area. A railroad timetable from the era shows Stella as a stop with access to connecting trains. The identifier "Stella" is affixed to the signal bungalow located next to the tracks along Holmes Road about 1/4 mile west of Kirby Drive. The modern day Stella Link Road in Houston gets its name from Stella, Texas. It began as a rural road running parallel to the railroad that linked West University, Texas to Stella. Today Stella Link Road is a busy urban street that still makes that link to the locale formerly known as Stella.

Southcrest is a community in southeastern Houston, Texas. It is bordered by the 610 Loop, Martin Luther King Boulevard, Bellfort Boulevard, and Mykawa Road.Dana Milbank of The Washington Post said in 2001 that a portion of Southcrest has "dilapidated houses, empty lots and pocked streets."In 2006, prices of houses ranged from $30,000 to $84,000. Carissa D. Lamkahouan of the Houston Chronicle said in 2007 that "prices have remained reasonable" because Southcrest is south of the 610 Loop. In 2006 20 homes sold in Southcrest. Of them, 20% were foreclosures. Matt Swift, owner of Swift & Co. Realty, said that many foreclosures occurred because many of Southcrest's residents were lower-middle and middle income households who were unable to afford home ownership and/or ancillary expenses that came with home ownership.In 2007, Lamkahouan said that a surge in homebuilding in the community occurred due to its proximity to major freeways such as the 610 Loop and Texas State Highway 288 and an abundance of vacant lots. LaRence Snowden, a realtor at Womack Development Investments, said "Carissa D. Lamkahouan of the Houston Chronicle said that the community "is hot right now. There is a lot of new home building going on, and if you drive the neighborhood there are still [6,000-square-foot (560 m2), 7,000-square-foot (650 m2)] lots available."

SaberCats Stadium is a rugby union stadium in Houston, Texas, United States as part of Houston Sports Park and is the home of the Houston SaberCats of Major League Rugby. The groundbreaking ceremony took place on July 24, 2018. Naming rights for the stadium were initially purchased by British information technology company AVEVA, and it was opened as AVEVA Stadium on April 13, 2019. Following the 2022 season, its name officially changed to "SaberCats Stadium". It is the first stadium in the league built specifically for use by Major League Rugby, and the second rugby-specific stadium primarily for professional competition in the United States.

Houston Sports Park is an urban park that serves as a multi-purpose sports and entertainment facility in the Five Corners District of Houston near the neighborhood of City Park. Houston Sports Park (HSP) houses Aveva Stadium, which is the home of the Houston SaberCats of Major League Rugby and is the training ground of the Houston Dynamo, Houston Dash and its academy teams. The facility is made up of the Memorial Hermann Champions Field, one artificial turf field, and five additional grass fields.

YES Prep Public Schools, Inc. is a network of public, open-enrollment charter schools located in Greater Houston. Its headquarters are located at its Southside campus. The YES program is a university-preparatory program for grades K-12.

XLR-8 (pronounced "accelerate") was a suspended roller coaster located at the defunct Six Flags AstroWorld. Manufactured by Arrow Huss at a cost of $3.2 million, the ride opened to the public in 1984, where it operated until the park's closure in 2005. It was one of Arrow's first attempts at producing a successful suspended coaster following troubles with The Bat at Kings Island, which operated briefly from 1981 to 1983.

The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) School of Dentistry, also known as the UTHealth School of Dentistry (formerly named the University of Texas Dental Branch at Houston), was founded in 1905. It is the oldest component unit of The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) and began as the privately owned Texas Dental College, joining UT System in 1943 under the name, "University of Texas School of Dentistry." In 1955 the school was renamed "UT Dental Branch" to parallel the name of the UT Medical Branch in nearby Galveston, but the similarity of names sometimes led the public to confuse the two institutions. With the blessing of the UT System Board of Regents, the Dental Branch returned to the name "UT School of Dentistry" on June 1, 2011. On that same day, John A. Valenza, DDS, was named dean, after having served as interim dean since 2009. A graduate of the Class of 1981, he is the first alumnus to serve as dean in the school's history.
