Kuriapilly

Madaplathuruth is a village in Paravur Taluk, state of Kerala. Formerly known as Kuriapilly, it was a part of the Travancore kingdom in the British India. The village is 22 km away from Kochi. The ancient seaport of India, Muziris is located in Pattanam village 0.7 km away from this village.

Chakkarakadavu is a small village to the east of the town of Cherai, on Vypin Island in Ernakulam district, Kerala, India.Chakkarakadavu shares a common history with Cherai and with the greater Vypin Island. It is the birthplace of Mathai Manjooran, an Indian independence activist from Kerala and the staunchest proponent for the formation of the Kerala State.

Pallippuram (also known in English as Palliport or in Portuguese as Paliporte) is a village on Vypeen island, in Kochi, Kerala, south India. The village is located approximately 25 km from Ernakulam and 20 km from Cochin International Airport. The east border is Periyar River, and the Arabian Sea in the west. Nearby attractions include the famous Cherai Beach, Pallipuram Fort, Munambam Fishing Harbour and Muziris beach( Golden Beach ). Pallippuram Fort was built by the Portuguese in 1503. It is one of the oldest existing European monuments in India. The Catholic Basilica at Pallippuram known as Church of "Our Lady of Snow" or "Manjumatha" is an important pilgrim centre for Christians.

The Cherai Gowreeshwara Temple is one of the main Hindu temples in Kerala State of South India. This temple is situated in the village of Cherai in the picturesque Vypeen island, sandwiched between the Arabian sea and the beautiful backwaters of Cochin. The temple is maintained by Vijnana Vardhini Sabha. This is the only temple in Asia that has a chathurmukha kovil (sanctum sanctorum with four deities facing east, west, north, and south). It is also known as Malayala Palani (മലയാള പഴനി) after the famous Subramanya Temple in Tamil Nadu. The main deity facing east is Subrahmanyan, but the temple is dedicated to the deity facing west, Sree Gowreeswaran or Lord Siva, one of the trinity of Gods in Hinduism and father of Subrahmanyan. The other deities are Parvathy, Siva's consort, and Ganapathy, the elder son, completing the family quartet of Lord Siva. The Gowreeshwara Temple festival is one of the main festivals in the Ernakulam district. The festival is conducted every year towards the end of January or early February. The main attractions are the Kavadi Utsavam in honor of the deity, Subramanian, and the Pooram, a magnificent display of caparisoned elephants, usually 25 to 30 in number. The temple was established by Sree Narayana Guru, saint and social reformer of Kerala, who fought against caste oppression and other social evils prevalent till the early twentieth century. The temple, right from its inception, was open to people of all castes and religions and is a living symbol of communal and religious harmony. The other famous temple in Cherai is the Azheekkal Sree Varaha Temple, famous for its beautiful temple chariot, drawn on rails during the annual festival.

Saint Thomas Jacobite Syrian church, also known as Paravur Cheriyapally, is a Syrian Orthodox church located in North Paravur, India. This church was constructed in AD 1566 in the midst of the seven bazaars of Paravur town by the parishioners of the ancient Kottakkavu Paravur Valiapally with the monetary aid from the local Tharakan households. The church houses the tomb of famous Syrian Orthodox prelate Gregorios Abdul Jaleel and has staged consecrations of various prelates of the Jacobite Syrian Church since then.

Cherai Beach is a beach located in Cherai in the northern side of Vypin Island, a suburb of the city Kochi in the state of Kerala, India. One of the most visited beaches in the state, it is situated at around 25 km (15 mi) from downtown Kochi and 20 km (12 mi) from Cochin International Airport.

Koottukad is a small village in Parur Taluk, Ernakulam district of Kerala state, South India. It is about 25 km from Ernakulam town. It has a large expanses of green plain. The famous church named Little Flower church is situated here. The people in this greenish place are very friendly as the name denotes. Paravur Taluk, IPA: [pɐrɐʋuːr], is a taluk of Ernakulam District in the Indian State of Kerala. North Paravur is the capital of the taluk. Paravur Taluk lies in the north western part of Ernakulam district bordering Thrissur district. The surrounding taluks are Kochi to the west consisting of Vypin Island, Kodungallur to the north, Chalakudy to the north consisting of Mala, Aluva to the east consisting of Angamaly, Nedumbassery and Aluva, Kanayanur to the south consisting of Cochin City. Paravur is a part of Kochi urban agglomeration area. The western parts of taluk are coastal areas with cultivations like prawn and pokkali rice. The eastern parts are fertile lands. The heavy industries of Kochi is located in Udyogmandal area of the taluk.

Munambam is a suburb of Kochi, India at the north end of Vypeen Island, surrounded by the Arabian Sea on the west, Periyar river on the east, and a mouth of the sea on the north. The main occupation of its inhabitants is fishing. Munambam is famous in Ernakulam and Thrissur districts for the presence of major fishing harbour in this region. It is also the mouth of the district major river Periyar which can be seen from the Munambam Muziris beach.

The Basilica of Our Lady of Snow, Pallippuram, Ernakulam, Kerala, is a minor basilica. The basilica decree was issued on 27 August 2012. The raising of the Pallippuram church was officially announced at the conclusion of the silver jubilee celebrations of the diocese on 7 October. The history of the Our Lady of Snow Church goes back five centuries when the Portuguese built a fort at Pallippuram and immediately followed it up with a church dedicated to Our Lady. The church was established in 1503, renovated in 1931 and rebuilt in 2006. The church came under the diocese of Kochi in 1557 and became a parish in 1577. The Kottapuram diocese was formed by dividing the Varappuzha diocese.
