Rombach (Aal)

Sauerbach is a river of Baden-Württemberg, Germany. At its confluence with the Rombach west of Aalen, the Aal is formed.

Städtisches Waldstadion, known as OSTALB ARENA for sponsorship purposes, is a multi-purpose stadium in Aalen, Germany. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home stadium of VfR Aalen. The stadium is able to hold 14,500 people.

The Aal is a small river in the town of Aalen in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It originates in the Dürrwiesen near the road bridge of the K 3326 at the western end of the street Gartenstraße through the confluence of the left Rombach and the right Sauerbach, that slightly exceeds the Rombach in length and area of basin. From here, the Aal first flows eastern, later northeastern direction. After 1.6 km, it flows on the left side of the Reichstädter Markt into the Kocher. For the Ancient Romans, the Aal was the reason to erect the Aalen Castle somewhat north of it, its largest equestrian fort north of the Alps. They extracted up to 30,000 liters of water daily for their approximately 1,000 horses. At the confluence of Rombach and Sauerbach, the Aal was recultivated for 5 million euros, and on September 10, 2010 the newly constructed Dürrwiesen flood retention basin was inaugurated.

Aalen Hauptbahnhof is a junction on the Rems Railway from Stuttgart, the Brenz Railway from Ulm, the Upper Jagst Railway to Crailsheim and Ries Railway to Donauwörth. The station is located 200 metres northeast of the historic old town (Altstadt) of Aalen in the German state of Baden-Württemberg. It is classified by Deutsche Bahn as a category 3 station. Aalen station was renamed a Hauptbahnhof (main station) at the timetable change on 11 December 2016.

Wasseralfingen station is a railway station on the Ries Railway in the city of Aalen, located in the Ostalbkreis district in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. The train services are operated by Go-Ahead Baden-Württemberg and Go-Ahead Bayern.The local ironworks, in operation since 1671, had been one of the primary reasons to build the first railway in the region. The Stuttgart-Bad Cannstatt–Aalen railway and the first section, Aalen-Wasseralfingen, of today's Ries Railway were opened in 1861. The extension to Nördlingen followed in 1863. The ironworks still exist as a company (SHW), but are now mostly an automotive supplier and do not use the railway any more.
