River Moriston

Invermoriston (Inbhir Mhoireastain in Gaelic) (grid reference NH420167) is a small village 11 kilometres (7 miles) north of Fort Augustus, Highland, Scotland. The village is on the A82 road, at a junction with the A887. The village's most visited attraction is the Thomas Telford bridge, built in 1813, which crosses the spectacular River Moriston falls. This bridge used to form part of the main road between Drumnadrochit and Fort Augustus but was replaced in the 1930s with the new bridge used today. Invermoriston's attractions include a hotel, called Glenmoriston Arms, village shop, clog and craft shop as well as a coffee shop/restaurant. From the top of the hill above the village, Sròn Na Muic (Scottish Gaelic for "The Nose of the Pig"), one can admire the finest views of the Great Glen.

Achnaconeran is a remote crofting settlement in the Inverness committee area of Highland and is in the Scottish council area of Highland. Achnaconeran is on the northern bank of Loch Ness about 22 miles (35 km) south-west from Inverness and 6 miles (9.7 km) north-east from Fort Augustus.

Loch Tarff is a small freshwater loch approximately 1.25 km (0.78 mi) from the southeastern shore of Loch Ness in the Scottish Highlands.

Fort Augustus Pier was a railway station in Inverness-shire, Scotland, and served as the north terminus of the Invergarry and Fort Augustus Railway between 1903 and 1906.

Fort Augustus Abbey, properly St. Benedict's Abbey, at Fort Augustus, Inverness-shire, Scotland, was a Benedictine monastery, from late in the nineteenth century to 1998 that also housed a school for boys until 1993.

The River Tarff is a river in Inverness-shire in the Scottish Highlands. It rises between the hills of Gairbeinn and Geal Charn and flows northwards then southwestwards and finally north-northwestwards into the Great Glen where it enters Loch Ness at Fort Augustus. The middle and lower reaches of the river are confined within the gorge of Glen Tarff. Its headwaters have been dammed to form the Glendoe Reservoir which forms the upper water storage basin for the Glendoe Hydro Scheme which began operation in 2009.

Whitebridge (Scottish Gaelic: An Drochaid Bhàn) is a small village on the southwest side of Loch Ness in northern Scotland.

Fort Augustus is a settlement in the parish of Boleskine and Abertarff, at the south-west end of Loch Ness, Scottish Highlands. The village has a population of around 646 (2001). Its economy is heavily reliant on tourism.

Kilchuimen Academy is a small secondary school located in Fort Augustus in Scotland. It shares its campus with neighbouring Kilchuimen Primary. The school has approximately 80 students enrolled. In 2009 the school saw the arrival of a new M.U.G.A (multi use games area) for the local community to use. In late 2010 the school received a grant of £18,000 to send its students to partnered schools in the Netherlands and Germany. The German partnered school is Gymnasium Querfurt.

Fort Augustus was a railway station in Inverness-shire, Scotland on the Invergarry and Fort Augustus Railway between 1903 and 1946.

Immaculate Conception Church, Stratherrick is in the Dalcrag area of Whitebridge, Inverness-shire, in the Highlands of Scotland and is a part of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Aberdeen. It is an active parish church served from Fort Augustus with regular weekly Vigil Mass at 5pm on Saturdays. It forms part of the grouping "Loch Ness Catholic Parishes". It is also a place of local pilgrimage as it has the shrine to 'Our Lady of the Highlands' within its grounds. A new altar at this shrine, or grotto, was dedicated by bishop Hugh Gilbert in March 2017.

Loch a' Bhainne is a small, upland freshwater loch approximately 2 miles (3.2 km) north of the east end of Loch Garry and 3.5 miles (5.6 km) north-west of Invergarry in the Scottish Highlands. The loch is roughly triangular in shape with a perimeter of 0.6 km (0.37 mi). It is approximately 0.33 mi (0.53 km) long, has an average depth of 10 ft (3.0 m) and is 28 ft (8.5 m) at its deepest. The loch was surveyed in 1903 by James Murray as part of Sir John Murray's Bathymetrical Survey of Fresh-Water Lochs of Scotland 1897-1909.
