Mytishchinsky District

Mytishchi (Russian: Мыти́щи, IPA: [mɨˈtʲiɕːɪ]) is a city and the administrative center of Mytishchinsky District in Moscow Oblast, Russia, which lies 19 km northeast of Russia's capital Moscow on the Yauza River and the Moscow–Yaroslavl railway. The city was an important waypoint for traders on the Yauza River, the Yaroslavl Highway passes through the city. Mytishchi is famous for its aqueduct, built in 1804, the first water supply pipeline to supply the growing population of Moscow. The city has a population of approximately 262,702 people as of 2022.

Moscow State Forest University (Russian: Московский государственный университет леса) (MSFU) is a specialized establishment of higher education which trains engineering personnel, scientists as well as bachelors and masters for forest industry, wood processing and pulp and paper industry and is an educational and scientific center of forest complex of the country. One school (commonly called in Russia "a faculty", and is similar to a college within a university) of the university prepares specialists for aerospace industry. Established in 1919 as the Moscow Forest Engineering Institute, the school was Russia's "first higher education institution for training forest engineers."There are nine schools (colleges) in university specialized in forest engineering and one school (college) specialized in electronics, applied mathematics and computer science Faculty of Computer Science (FEST). FEST was founded in 1959 on initiative by academician Sergey Pavlovich Korolev with the goal to prepare engineers for the Soviet Aerospace industry. Since 2016 Moscow State Forest University is a division of Bauman Moscow State Technical University, BMSTU (Russian: Московский государственный технический университет им. Н. Э. Баумана (МГТУ им. Н. Э. Баумана)), sometimes colloquially referred to as the Bauman School or Baumanka (Russian: Ба́уманка) is a public technical university (Polytechnic) located in Moscow, Russia.

Mytishchi Arena (Russian: Арена Мытищи, Arena Mytishchi) is a multi-purpose indoor sporting arena that is located in Mytishchi, which is 5 km (3 miles) outside of Moscow, Russia. The arena is used to host events such as: ice hockey, figure skating, basketball, volleyball, handball, tennis, badminton, futsal, artistic gymnastics, gymnastics, ice dancing, ballroom dancing, wrestling, Olympic weightlifting, boxing, concerts, festivals, exhibitions, conferences, dance evenings, circus performances, fashion shows, and other events. The capacity of the arena is 7,000 for ice hockey, 7,280 for basketball, and 9,000 for boxing and concerts.

The RKA Mission Control Center (Russian: Центр управления полётами), also known by its acronym TsUP (ЦУП) or by its radio callsign Mission Control Moscow, is the mission control center of Roscosmos. It is located in Korolyov, Moscow Oblast, on Pionerskaya Street near the S.P. Korolev Rocket and Space Corporation Energia plant. It contains an active control room for the International Space Station. It also houses a memorial control room for the Mir space station where the last few orbits of Mir before it burned up in the atmosphere are shown on the display screens. TsUP provides practical flight control for spacecraft of several different classes: crewed orbital complexes, spaceships, space probes and civilian, and scientific satellites. At the same time, it carries out scientific and engineering research and development of methods, algorithms, and tools for control problems, ballistics, and navigation.

Korolyov or Korolev (Russian: Королёв, IPA: [kərɐˈlʲɵf]) is an industrial city in Moscow Oblast, Russia, well known as the cradle of Soviet and Russian space exploration. As of the 2010 Census, its population was 183,402, the largest as a science city. As of 2018, the population was more than 222,000 people. It was known as Kaliningrad (Калинингра́д) from 1938 to 1996 and served as the leading Soviet center for production of anti-tank and air-defense guns. In 1946, in the aftermath of World War II, the artillery plant was reconstructed for production of rockets, launch vehicles, and spacecraft, under the guidance of Russian scientist and academician Sergei Korolev, who envisioned, consolidated and guided the activities of many people in the Soviet space-exploration program. The plant later became known as the RKK Energia; when the Vostok space vehicle was being developed, this research center was designated as NII-88 or POB 989. Russian Mission Control Center is also located in Korolyov. Though the real control is decentralized due to security reasons and all space aircraft may be controlled from many different locations across Russia, the historic center of control is still in Korolev, and is called FCC – Flights Control Center. In July 1996, the city was renamed in commemoration of Sergei Korolev, the father of the Soviet/Russian space program, who died in 1966. Since 1997, Korolyov has hosted the International Space Olympics, an annual competition for young people to promote space related research.

Losiny Ostrov National Park (Russian: Национальный парк "Лосиный Остров", literally - Elk (Moose) Island) is the second oldest national park of Russia (after Sochi National Park). It is located in Moscow and Moscow Oblast. It is the largest urban park in Europe. Losiny Ostrov is one of a few locations in Moscow where one can see wild animals in their natural environment, including the moose. In total there are 44 species of mammals and 170 bird species, 9 amphibian species, 5 reptile species and 19 fish species.

Cherkizovo (Russian: Черкизово) is an urban locality (an urban-type settlement) in Pushkinsky District of Moscow Oblast, Russia. Population: 3,559 (2010 Census); 3,468 (2002 Census); 4,824 (1989 Census).

The State University of Education (Russian: Государственный университет просвещения) is a higher education institution in Moscow and the Moscow Oblast. It was founded in 1931.

Russian State University of Tourism and Service (RSUTS) is a public university in Russia and CIS countries which provides higher education in tourism and services studies. The university is based in Pushkino, Moscow Oblast, near Moscow, and has its own campus in Makhachkala. Originally a higher school of handicraft cooperation, it was founded in 1952.

Losinoostrovsky District (Russian: Лосиноостро́вский райо́н) is an administrative district (raion) of North-Eastern Administrative Okrug, and one of the 125 raions of Moscow, Russia. It is 14 km north of the Moscow city center, located just inside the Moscow Ring Road, with Moscow Oblast to the north, Severnoye Medvedkovo District to the west, Babushkinsky district to the south, and Yarosloavsky District to the east. The area of the district is 5.54 square kilometers (2.14 sq mi). Population: 72,100 (2017 est.). Although its name coincides with Losiny Ostrov National Park, the district does not even border the park. Its name in fact refers to Losinoostrovskaya railway station, in turn named after the park.

Thermal Power Plant 27 Severnaya (Russian: ТЭЦ-27 «Северная») is a combined heat and power plant located in the village of Chelobityevo in Mytishchinsky District of Moscow Oblast, Russia. It is owned and operated by Mosenergo. It provides heat and power to Mytishchi, as well as to Northern and North-Eastern Administrative Okrugs of Moscow.The decision to build the power plant was taken in 1980s. However, due to opposition of the local population the construction was postponed. The first unit became operational in 1996 and the second unit in 1998. The third unit was added in 2007 and the fourth unit in 2008.

Metrogorodok District (Russian: район Метрогородок) is the northernmost administrative district (55° 50' 19.26" 37° 44' 55.32"E) (raion) of Eastern Administrative Okrug, and one of the 125 raions of Moscow, Russia.The district has a size of 27.57 square kilometers (10.64 sq mi). 90% of the Metrogorodok's area is occupied by the Losiny Ostrov National Park. Despite that fact, the ecological situation is assessed as unfavorable because of the Kaloshino industrial zone, combined heat and power station No. 23 and felling of forest zones.The municipality got its name from the metro builders settlement, which arose in the 1930s during the construction of the first stage of the Moscow metro.
