Omiš

Cetina (pronounced [tsětina]) is a river in southern Croatia. It has a length of 101 km (63 mi) and its basin covers an area of 1,463 km2 (565 sq mi). From its source, Cetina descends from an elevation of 385 metres (1,263 ft) above sea level to the Adriatic Sea. It is the most water-rich river in Dalmatia.

Mirabella Fortress (Peovica) is a fortress located above town of Omiš in Split-Dalmatia County, in Dalmatia, Croatia. Mirabella or Peovica is a Romanesque fortress, built in the 13th century above the town of Omiš by the Kačić family. Mirabella was a reliable hideout for the Omiš pirates who used to retreat into the safety of the Cetina gorge. Legend says that in 1537, during an attack by the Turks, the defenders of Omiš confused the attackers with their shouting and shots so much that the Turks overestimated the number of defenders and fled.

Starigrad Fortress is a 15th-century fortress located near Omiš in Split-Dalmatia county, in Dalmatia, Croatia. The fortress or Fortica was built during the Croatian–Ottoman wars as a primary defence against the Ottoman Empire. The precipitous fortification is sited on a 262 m (860 ft) ridge above the town Omiš. In the event of attack, its purpose was to provide refuge for local people and be a stronghold where they could retreat to and resist the Turks. As the stone fort's defensive strength is derived from the elevation at which it was built, it is a rudimentary defensive structure. A two-storey square tower stands at its highest point, serving as both a lookout post and keep. A simple bastion stands at the opposite end of the fort to cover the approach path and the ridge line. It has an outer barbican to defend the fort's narrow entrance gateway and the gorge below the fort. The walls, which are about 1 m (3 ft 3 in) thick, are made from locally quarried limestone. They enclose an inner bailey that is separated into two distinct levels by the difference in the site's natural rock height. Access between the levels is via a small stone stairway that was once protected by a stone wall and gateway. In event of attack, the fortification's design permits the defenders to fall back to higher ground as each level falls.

Naklice is a settlement in the City of Omiš in Croatia. In 2021, its population was 237.

Duće is a Croatian village situated close to Omiš in the Dugi Rat municipality, Split-Dalmatia County. It is a series of small settlements in Poljica, the area between the foot of the Mosor mountains and the Adriatic Sea. The village was founded prior to the 12th century. The church of St. Marko is mentioned in 12th-century documents while the church of St. Marija is older still. Duće previously formed a part of the Republic of Poljica ruled by the Grand Duke according to the decrees of the Poljica Statute. Duće is a settlement that consists of two parts: the modern touristic one, located by the Adriatic Sea and the ancient, rural one, located in the foot of the Mosor mountains. The place comprises Luke, Rogača, Vavlja, Golubinka, Glavice and Dočina. It has around 2000 inhabitants. The most important economic activity is tourism.

Zakučac is a settlement in the City of Omiš in Croatia. In 2021, its population was 156.

Zakučac Hydroelectric Power Plant is a large power plant in Croatia that has four turbines with a nominal capacity of 122 megawatts (164,000 hp) each having a total capacity of 488 megawatts (654,000 hp). It is a high-pressure diversion plant located at the Cetina River mouth into the sea, near the city of Omiš. It is operated by Hrvatska elektroprivreda.

Gata is a village located at the foot of the mountain Mosor, 16 miles east of the city of Split, and 1.3 miles inland from the coast of the Adriatic Sea. It is administratively located within the city of Omiš, in the Split-Dalmatia County. The village had a population of 567 in the 2011 census. It is located in the area of Poljica, near the river Cetina, at an elevation of 932 ft.

Tugare is a settlement in the City of Omiš in Croatia. In 2021, its population was 875.
