Embassy of the United States, Islamabad

Beginning at 12:00 p.m. on 21 November 1979, a large mob of Pakistani citizens violently stormed the Embassy of the United States in Islamabad and subsequently burned it down in a coordinated attack. The riot was led by local Islamists aligned with the right-wing Pakistani political party Jamaat-i-Islami, and the mob primarily comprised students from Quaid-i-Azam University. Lasting for almost 24 hours, the riot had been incited by Iranian religious cleric Ruhollah Khomeini, who was leading the Islamic Revolution at the time, after he falsely claimed in a widespread Iranian radio broadcast that the then-ongoing Grand Mosque seizure in Saudi Arabia had been orchestrated by the United States and Israel, prompting many anti-American riots throughout the Muslim world. During the attack, the Pakistani rioters took several American diplomats as hostages with the intent of carrying out sham trials and public executions. In addition to Islamabad, there were similarly large riots in Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi, where a number of American cultural centres were attacked and burned down.Four embassy personnel were killed in the attack: a U.S. Marine Security Guard, a U.S. Army warrant officer, and two local Pakistani employees. The American ambassador Arthur W. Hummel Jr. was outside of the embassy at the time of the attack and therefore was able to escape from the rioters before being harmed. Shortly after the riots began, American president Jimmy Carter contacted Pakistani president Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq by phone to warn him against allowing the embassy employees' safety to be compromised. However, Zia proved reluctant to dispatch troops to disperse the crowd. By the morning of 22 November, the Pakistan Army moved in to retake the embassy grounds: two of the rioting students were killed and as many as 70 additional rioters were injured. According to witnesses at the nearby British High Commission, well over 1,500 people took part in the attack on the embassy. The burning of the embassy in Islamabad played into Khomeini's Islamic Revolution export propaganda amidst the Iran hostage crisis, and Khomeini himself later publicly praised the Pakistani rioters' actions after hearing about the attack. Zia condemned the embassy burning as "not in keeping with lofty Islamic traditions" while refraining from overtly criticizing Jamaat-i-Islami, which had been a political ally in his Islamization of Pakistan.

The Iranian ambassador in Islamabad is the official representative of the Government in Tehran to the Government of Pakistan.

The High Commission of Canada in Pakistan is the diplomatic mission of Canada in Pakistan. It is located on the Diplomatic Enclave in Sector G-5 of Islamabad. Leslie Scanlon is the current High Commissioner of Canada to Pakistan. Canada also maintains an honorary consul-cum-trade office in Karachi, and an honorary consul in Lahore.

The British High Commission in Islamabad is the chief diplomatic mission of the United Kingdom in Pakistan. It is located in the Diplomatic Enclave in Islamabad. The current British High Commissioner to Pakistan is Jane Marriott, and the Deputy High Commissioner is Alison Blackburne. The UK also has a Deputy High Commission in Karachi and a Trade and Investment Office in Lahore.The British High Commission oversees matters pertaining to the bilateral relationship between the UK and Pakistan, and provides consular services to British citizens in Pakistan.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Urdu: وزارت امورِ خارجہ, Wazarat-e-Kharja, abbreviated as MoFA) is a ministry of the Government of Pakistan tasked in managing Pakistan's diplomatic and consular relations as well as its foreign policy. The MOFA is also responsible for maintaining Pakistani government offices abroad with diplomatic and consular status.

The National Library of Pakistan (Urdu:قومى کتب خانہ پاکستان) is located in the vicinity of the Red Zone, Islamabad, Pakistan. Argued to be the country's oldest cultural institution, the library is a leading resource for information— ancient and new. The National Library collection includes approximately 66% of all serial and 50-55% of all books publications in the country. Designed with Eastern architecture, the library includes space for 500 readers, has 15 research rooms, a 450-seat auditorium, and provides computer and microfilm services. At its opening in 1993, the library owned a collection of 130,000 volumes and 600 manuscripts. The National Library's mission is to promote literacy and serve as a dynamic cultural and educational center for the state's capital Islamabad.

Jinnah Convention Centre (also known as National Convention Centre) is an exhibition and convention centre based in Islamabad, Pakistan. It is named after Muhammad Ali Jinnah. Currently managed by the Capital Development Authority, it has a seating capacity of 2,200 people, and a parking facility of more than 1,000 cars spread over three parking lots.It is mainly used by the Government of Pakistan to host national ceremonies, and by universities for convocations.

The Library of the Supreme Court of Pakistan is an official and principal research as well as reference library of the Supreme Court of Pakistan. It is located in the judicial complex of the Supreme Court, and is listed as a repute of national legal Library.Since its establishment, it has become one of the noted and reliable law libraries in the country, with resources that span the ages and cover virtually every jurisdiction and history of law. Currently the Library has a collection of ~80,000 volumes on a variety of topics including general books, legal textbooks, law reports and research journals. Almost all the local law reports are available from the date of their publication.The All India Reports (AIR) as well as All England Law Reports and Halsbury's Laws of England are also some of the important documents available in the Library. The Library also contains reference books such as the encyclopaedias, maps, and dictionaries.

The Supreme Court Building is the official and principal site for the Supreme Court of Pakistan, located on the Constitution Avenue in Islamabad, Pakistan. Completed in 1993, it is flanked by the Prime Minister's Office to the south and the Presidential House and the Parliament House to the north. Designed by famous Japanese architect, Kenzō Tange, under the consultation of the EPA, the complex was engineered and built by the CDA Engineering and Siemens Engineering. The building was part of an effort by the government of Pakistan to incorporate modernism into the architecture of important government buildings, for which several world-renowned architects were invited; Tange, after initially rejecting the invitation, ultimately agreed to participate.

FM 101 is a commercial FM radio station owned by Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation. It is broadcast from Karachi, Hyderabad, Lahore, Islamabad and around 10 cities of Pakistan.

The Supreme Court of Pakistan (Urdu: عدالتِ عظمیٰ پاکستان; Adālat-e-Uzma Pākistān) is the apex court in the judicial hierarchy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.Established in accordance with Part VII of the Constitution of Pakistan, it has ultimate and extensive appellate, original, and advisory jurisdictions on all courts (including the high courts, district, special and Shariat court), involving issues of laws and may act on the verdicts rendered on the cases in context in which it enjoys jurisdiction. In the court system of Pakistan, the Supreme Court is the final arbiter of legal and constitutional disputes as well as final interpreter of constitutional law, and the highest court of appeal in Pakistan. In its modern composition, the Supreme Court is incorporated of Chief Justice of Pakistan, sixteen justices and two ad hoc who are confirmed to their appointment by the President upon their nominations from the Prime Minister's selection based on their merited qualifications. Once appointed, justices are expected to completed a designated term and then retire at 65 years old, unless their term is terminated through resignation or impeachment by the Supreme Judicial Council resulted in a presidential reference in regards to the misconduct of judge(s). In their discourse judgement, the justices are often categorized as having the conservative, textual, moderate, and liberal philosophies of law in their judicial interpretation of law and judgements.: 1915 : 436 The Supreme Court has a permanent seat in Islamabad and meets at the Supreme Court Building at the Red Zone.

Lake View Park (also known as Rawal Lake View Point or Rawal Lake Promenade) is a wildlife park, amusement park and adventure park located near Malpur village at the edge of Rawal lake in Islamabad, Pakistan. It runs under the administration of Capital Development Authority.The park contains the third-largest walk-in bird aviary in the world, which was inaugurated in 2013. It is 80 feet high, and covers 3.8 acres. 4,000 birds belonging to 300 different species are housed here
