Westfalenstadion

Stadion Rote Erde (German pronunciation: [ˌʃtaːdi̯ɔn ˌʁoːtə ˈeːɐ̯də] (listen); Red Earth Stadium) is a 25,000 capacity (3,000 seated) football and athletics stadium in Dortmund, North Rhine-Westphalia. It serves as the home stadium to Borussia Dortmund II and several athletic clubs. The stadium was built in between 1924 and 1926 at a cost of 1.8 million German Mark. The stadium was inaugurated in 1926, with a match between the City of Dortmund and FC Wacker München (1-11).

Westfalenhallen (English: Halls of Westphalia) is a commercial complex composed of conference (Kongresszentrum Dortmund) and exhibition centers (Messe Dortmund) with an indoor arena (Westfalenhalle), located in Dortmund, Germany. It is surrounded by the Eissportzentrum Westfalenhallen, Stadion Rote Erde, Signal Iduna Park and Helmut-Körnig-Halle. The original building was opened in 1925, but was destroyed during World War II. Reopening on 2 February 1952, new halls were built, the "Große Westfalenhalle". The "Kleine Westfalenhalle" served also for balls, exhibitions and concerts, such as the Dortmunder Philharmoniker, until the Opernhaus Dortmund was opened in 1966. The Bundesliga was founded at the Westfalenhallen in 1962.

Dortmund Signal-Iduna-Park is a railway station on the Dortmund–Soest railway situated close to Signal Iduna Park stadium (also known as Westfalenstadion) in Dortmund in western Germany. The station was called Dortmund Westfalenhalle before December 2006. It is served by regional railway lines of Deutsche Bahn.

Eissportzentrum Westfalenhallen is an indoor sporting arena at the Strobelallee in Dortmund, Germany. It is primarily used for ice hockey and is the home arena of Eisadler Dortmund, and of the figure skating club ERC Westfalen. It was opened in 1952 and can accommodate 5,000 spectators, including 3,998 standing and 1,002 seats.

The Stone Tower (German: Steinerne Turm) is a protected monument and historic watchtower in the city of Dortmund, Germany, not far from the Westfalenhallen.

Westfalenhallen station (German: U-Bahnhof Westfalenhallen) is an underground rapid transit station in the city of Dortmund, in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It is part of the Dortmund Stadtbahn network and serves the Westfalenhallen venues.

Dortmund Möllerbrücke station is a transportation hub to the southwest of the inner city of Dortmund, near the Kreuzviertel (district) and West Park. A Dortmund Stadtbahn underground station is located next to the station. The station is named after the nearby Möller bridge (Möllerbrücke) and is classified by Deutsche Bahn as a category 5 station. The above ground section of the station is served by Rhine-Ruhr S-Bahn line S 4 and the underground section is served by line U42 of the Dortmund Stadtbahn. It is located on the historic Ruhr line of the Rhenish Railway Company.

Brünninghausen is a Stadtteil (Quarter) in the south of the city of Dortmund in Germany. It belongs to the Stadtbezirk ("City District") Hombruch. With a population of 3,913 and an area of 2.16 km2 it is one of the smaller parts of Dortmund. The average annual income in Brünninghausen is about 50,600 Euro, which makes it one of the city's richest areas. It is home to the Zoo Dortmund and the Rombergpark.

Dortmund Tierpark station is a railway station in the Brünninghausen district of the town of Dortmund, located in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The station Dortmund Tierpark is located on the Düsseldorf-Derendorf–Dortmund Süd railway built by the Rhenish Railway Company (German: Rheinische Eisenbahn-Gesellschaft, RhE) and now operated by Deutsche Bahn. The railroad line is single-track at the level of the station, for which reason the station has only one platform. The nearby former Tierpark and today's Dortmund Zoo gives the station its name. Until its renaming in 1959/1960, the station was officially named "Brünninghausen".The station is located on the street Am Bahnhof Tierpark, which translates to at the Tierpark station. In the immediate vicinity are the bus stops Brünninghausen and Mergelteichstr./Zoo, which offer transfers to the bus lines of Dortmunder Stadtwerke. The Rombergpark Botanical Garden is located east of the tracks and can be reached via an underpass.

Botanischer Garten Rombergpark (Rombergpark Botanical Garden), or informally Rombergpark, is an extensive municipal botanical garden and arboretum in Dortmund, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. With its total area of 68 hectares the Rombergpark is one of the largest botanical gardens in the world. It is always freely open.

The Old Synagogue (Alte Synagoge) was the largest synagogue and cultural center of the Jewish community in Dortmund, Germany. The synagogue was opened in 1900. With a capacity of 1,300 seats it was one of the largest Jewish houses of worship in Germany. After the Nazi Party gained power in 1933, the local government forced the Jewish community to sell the property and decided to demolish the synagogue. The proceeds from the sale were seized by the Nazi regime. Demolition works began a few weeks before the Kristallnacht and were finished in December 1938. In 1958–1965 the new Opernhaus Dortmund was built on the site where the synagogue once stood. Since 1998 the forecourt is officially known as Platz der Alten Synagoge ("Place of the Old Synagogue") and a memorial stone as well as a memorial plaque was erected.
