Brühl (Rhineland)

The Augustusburg and Falkenlust Palaces form a historical building complex in Brühl, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The buildings are connected by the spacious gardens and trees of the Schlosspark. Built in the early 18th century, the palaces and adjoining gardens are considered masterpieces of early rococo architecture and have been listed as a UNESCO cultural World Heritage Site since 1984. Augustusburg Palace (German: Schloss Augustusburg) and its parks also serve as a venue for the Brühl Palace Concerts.

The Schlosspark (Palace park) is the park of Schloss Augustusburg, a Baroque palace in Brühl, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The garden was first designed in Baroque style by Dominique Girard, and established in 1728. It was partly changed to English landscape style during the 19th century. In the 1930s, the original design was restored. It is now a public park. The complete ensemble of palaces and gardens is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Kierberg station is on the Eifel Railway, connecting Cologne, Euskirchen, Gerolstein and Trier in Kierberg, a suburb of Brühl in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. It is served by Regionalbahn service RB 24 from Cologne via Euskirchen to Kall. The former station building for the German Emperor called the Kaiserbahnhof (imperial station) now serves as the Kaiserbahnhof restaurant.

Brühl station is a railway station in the city of Brühl in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. It consists of a passenger station and a freight yard about a kilometre to the north. Both parts of the station are on the Left Rhine line (German: Linke Rheinstrecke); the freight yard also has a connection via Brühl-Vochem to the Cologne port and freight railway network (Häfen und Güterverkehr Köln AG, HGK).

The Brühl train derailment happened on 6 February 2000 at Brühl, railway station on the West Rhine railway. A train negotiated a low speed turnout at three times the correct speed and derailed, killing 9 people.

Cologne is one of the five governmental districts of the German Federal State of North Rhine-Westphalia. It is located in the south-west of that state and covers the hills of the Eifel as well as the Bergisches Land. It was created in 1815, when Prussia reorganised its internal administration. In 1972 the Regierungsbezirk Aachen was incorporated.

Holzbach is a small river of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It is a right tributary of the Dickopsbach near Brühl.

Raik is a boomerang steel roller coaster manufactured by Vekoma located at Phantasialand in Germany. Raik opened on 30 June 2016 alongside neighbouring roller coaster Taron, a multi-launch steel roller coaster. The ride is situated in the 'Klugheim' area of the theme park, a mythical village reflecting Old Norse cultures. The coaster sits in a canyon of basalt rock at the edge of the village. Also within the canyon is a new-for-2016. Klugheim replaced the former Silver City themed area of the park.

Taron is a multilaunch steel roller coaster manufactured by Intamin located at Phantasialand in Germany. It was the fastest multi-launched roller coaster in the world when it opened. Taron opened on 30 June 2016. The ride is situated in the 'Klugheim' area of the theme park, a mythical village reflecting Old Norse cultures. The coaster sits in a canyon of basalt rock at the edge of the village. Also within the canyon is a new-for-2016 Family Boomerang roller coaster called Raik. Klugheim replaced the former Silver City themed area of the park.

Crazy Bats, formerly Space Center and Temple of the Night Hawk is an enclosed roller coaster located at Phantasialand.

Phantasialand is a theme park in Brühl, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany that attracts approximately 2 million visitors annually. The park was opened in 1967 by Gottlieb Löffelhardt and Richard Schmidt. Although starting as a family-oriented park, Phantasialand has also added thrill rides, especially during recent years. Furthermore, following the example of Europa-Park, they have decided to attract business customers beside the regular ones, calling it "Business to Pleasure".Phantasialand is known for its high attention to detail in its theming and introduces new attractions more often compared to other theme parks to compensate for its small area and regularly is voted one of the best parks in the world.Among the park's thrill rides is Taron (the world's fastest multi-launch coaster), Black Mamba (a Bolliger & Mabillard inverted coaster) and a themed Mine Train roller coaster called Colorado Adventure, which runs among some mountains in the park's Wild West section and was opened by Michael Jackson.

Colorado Adventure is a steel roller coaster located at Phantasialand in Brühl, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. During construction, it was decided to opt for a roller coaster in a Western style rather than a traditional roller coaster. The name Colorado is derived from the U.S. state of the same name, well known during the ‘Wild West’ period in the USA. The ride has been voted by fans as one of the world’s best examples of the mine roller coaster. Until 2013 its full name was Colorado Adventure – The Michael Jackson Thrill Ride. The ride was open from the beginning of the 1996 season and was ‘officially’ opened by Michael Jackson on May 11. Colorado Adventure has five trains, each with six cars for a total of 32 passengers. The first car is designed as a locomotive and offers two seats. The other cars all have three rows for a total of six people and a maximum of four trains can be used at one time. Local residents have complained about the amount of noise generated by riders on the Colorado Adventure. The ride has been fitted with extra tunnel sections and also partly covered with noise barriers. In 2011, the Smokey Mountain was replaced by a new child attraction "Tikal".
