Rungsted

Rungsted Kyst station (meaning literally "the coast of Rungsted") is a railway station serving the suburb of Rungsted on the coast of North Zealand north of Copenhagen, Denmark. The station is located on the Coast Line between Helsingør and Copenhagen. The train services are currently operated by Danish State Railways (DSB). Rungsted Kyst is famous due to a range of Danish celebrity who grew up in the area including Simon Spies, wealthy eccentric and airline director, and Karen Blixen, world-famous writer. Johannes Ewald, well known Danish poet and writer, wrote about his happy convalescing there.

Rungstedlund, also known as the Karen Blixen Museum, is a country house in Rungsted on the Øresund coast just north of Copenhagen, Denmark, notable for its association with the author Karen Blixen, who lived there for most of her life. She was born on the estate in 1885, and returned there after her years in Kenya, chronicled in her 1937 book Out of Africa, to do most of her writings. The property is today managed by the Rungstedlund Foundation as a writer's house museum.

Folehaveskoven, or Folehave Skov, is a forest in Hørsholm on the northern outskirts of Copenhagen, Denmark. It is part of a complex of smaller woodlands which also comprises Rungsted Hegn to the north, Deputatvang and Øster Sandbjerg to the south. It is bisected by the east–west running Folehavevej and is to the east bounded by the Coast Line.

Sophienberg is a former royal summer retreat located on the Coast Road in Rungsted, Hørsholm Municipality, some 20 km north of central Copenhagen, Denmark. It is now operated as a venue for meetings and smaller conferences.

Folehavegård is an 18th-century farmhouse in Hørsholm, Denmark. It has been owned by Karen Blixen's father Wilhelm Dinesen, as well as her younger sister Ellen Dahl (née Dinesen), and was owned by the family for more than a hundred years. The main building, barn and stable are listed. Much of the land has been sold off. The remaining 35 hectares consist mostly of open farmland but adjoins the woodlands Folehaveskoven and Rungsted Hegn.

Kokkedal Slot (English: Kokkedal House) is a former country house located in Hørsholm north of Copenhagen, Denmark. It is now operated as a 62-room, high-end hotel under the name Kokkedal Slot Copenhagen to distinguish it from Kokkedal Slot in North Jutland. The hotel is a member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SHL) network. It is surrounded by parkland and an 18-hole golf course.

Hørsholm (Danish pronunciation: [ˈhɶɐ̯sˌhʌlˀm]) is an urban area on the Øresund coast approximately 25 km (15.53 mi) north of Copenhagen, Denmark. It covers most of Hørsholm Municipality and straddles the borders neighbouring Fredensborg Municipality and Rudersdal Municipality. Hørsholm proper is developed around Hirschholm Palace, which was constructed in the 1730s, but the town has later absorbed several of the nearby communities that are of much older origins.

Mikkelborg is a seaside locality in Hørsholm Municipality, located between Rungsted to the south and Kokkedal to the north, some 20 km north of Copenhagen, Denmark. Mikkelborg Strandpark (Mikkelborg Beach Park) is a public park and beach. Mikkelgård, a listed house from 1916 located inside the park, is now operated as a restaurant.

Hørsholm Arboretum (Danish: Arboretet i Hørsholm) is an arboretum located in Hørsholm, 20 km north of Copenhagen, Denmark. It operates as part of the University of Copenhagen's Department of Geosciences and Natural Resource Management.

Hørsholm Local History Museum is a local history museum in Hørsholm, Denmark.

The Danish Museum of Hunting and Forestry (Danish: Dansk Jagt- og Skovbrugsmuseum) was a state-owned museum in Hørsholm exhibiting objects connected with the history of hunting and forestry in Denmark. It is now closely associated with the UNESCO-listed Par force hunting landscape in North Zealand. In 2017, the museum was combined with the Danish Agricultural Museum and is now known as the Green Museum. It is located in Auning in northern Jutland.

Hørsholm Kommune is a municipality (Danish, kommune) in the Copenhagen Capital Region in the northern part of the island of Zealand (Sjælland) in eastern Denmark. The municipality covers an area of 31 km², and has a total population of 24,715 (1. January 2023). Its mayor as of 2010 is Morten Slotved, a member of the Conservative People's Party (Det Konservative Folkeparti). The main town and the site of its municipal council is the town of Hørsholm. Neighboring municipalities, in line with the Kommunalreformen ("The Municipal Reform" of 2007), are Fredensborg municipality (formerly Fredensborg-Humlebæk and Karlebo) to the north, Allerød municipality to the west, and Rudersdal municipality (formerly Birkerød and Søllerød) to the south. To the east is the Øresund, the strait that separates Denmark from Sweden. The distance to Sweden from the coast at Hørsholm is ca. 17 km to Landskrona or ca. 9 km to the Swedish island of Ven. Hørsholm and the neighbouring town Rungsted (which is part of Hørsholm Municipality) has an average income per household among the highest in the country - a fact also strongly reflected in the price of housing in the area. Wealthy households are attracted to Hørsholm by its comparatively low income tax rate, proximity to forests and the sea. Moreover, the commuting distance to central Copenhagen remains reasonably short. The Hørsholm Midtpunkt shopping mall with its 65 stores opened in the early 1970s and is the second largest shopping mall in Northern Zealand and among the ten largest shopping malls in the Copenhagen Capital Region. Hørsholm municipality was not merged with other municipalities on January 1, 2007 under the nationwide Kommunalreformen ("The Municipal Reform" of 2007).
