Romancoke is an unincorporated community in King William County, Virginia, United States. Romancoke was a plantation initially developed by William Claiborne in the 17th century, and inherited by his burgess sons William Claiborne Jr. then Thomas Claiborne. Eventually, in the early 19th century, George Washington Parke Custis, father of Mary Anna Randolph Custis Lee (wife of Gen. Robert E. Lee) inherited Romancoke Plantation, as well as Arlington and White House Plantations. His will appointed Gen. Lee as executor, and directed him to manumit approximately 200 slaves within five years of his death (which happened in 1857). The American Civil War and Emancipation Proclamation intervened, but Gen. Lee fulfilled the clause by December, 1862. Lee's second son, Rooney Lee, managed both White House plantation and nearby Romancoke after resigning his U.S. Army commission. His youngest son, Robert E. Lee, Jr., inherited Romancoke and after the war took up residence (about four miles from West Point).

Dixon, also known as Dixon's Plantation, was a privately owned historic plantation house (1793-2021) in King and Queen County, Virginia on the Mattaponi River—a tributary of the York River in one of Virginia's historic slavery-dependent tobacco-growing regions. The property was situated between the two unincorporated communities of Shacklefords and King and Queen Court House, Virginia. Dated (by tree-rings) to 1793, the plantation's surviving central residence was a two-story, five-bay, symmetrical frame house with a gambrel roof, brick foundation and brick end-walls—the latter featuring Flemish bond and internal (rather than expressed) chimneys. Located between two adjacent plantations, the earliest owners of the property were William Meredith and subsequently Richard Dixon, of whom little is known. The plantation and home were named after Richard Dixon, and he is credited with constructing the surviving residence. At the time of its successful nomination to the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) in 2005, Dixon was one of eight surviving gambrel-roof residences from the eighteenth and early nineteenth century in King and Queen County, Virginia. A fire in the spring of 2021 completely destroyed Dixon.

Little Plymouth is an unincorporated community in King and Queen County, Virginia, United States.

Port Richmond is an unincorporated community in King William County, Virginia, United States. It lies on the Pamunkey River within the town limits of West Point, northwest of the town center and adjacent to Euclid Heights.

West Point High School is a four-year public high school located in West Point, Virginia serving the surrounding geographic area of 6.31 square miles. School aged children living outside the town of West Point are encouraged to apply as tuition students. West Point High School was voted a Blue Ribbon School in 2012. West Point is one of just two towns in Virginia to have a School division (terminology for a school district in Virginia) which is independent from the school division of the county in which it is located. (The other town with an independent school division is Colonial Beach, located in Westmoreland County in the Northern Neck region.)

Shanghai is an unincorporated community in King and Queen County, Virginia, United States. The Upper Church, Stratton Major Parish was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.

West Point (formerly Delaware) is an incorporated town in King William County, Virginia, United States. The population was 3,414 at the 2020 census.

Upper Church, Stratton Major Parish is a historic Episcopal church located near Shanghai, King and Queen County, Virginia. It was built between about 1724 and 1729, and is a one-story, rectangular, brick structure, measuring 33 feet, 9 inches, long by 64 feet. The church is topped by a steeply pitched gable roof with a box cornice and cornice returns. The church was restored after a fire gutted the interior in the 1840s. The church has been used by Baptists and later Methodists since the early-19th century. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.

Sweet Hall Marsh (also known as Sweethall Marsh) is a 353-hectare (870-acre) tidal marsh located on the northern edge of the Pamunkey River in southeastern King William County, Virginia, United States, just south-southeast of the unincorporated community of Sweet Hall. It is privately owned by the Tacoma Hunting and Fishing Club and is one of four components of the Chesapeake Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve. Due to its low elevation (0 feet [0 m]) and rising sea level, the marsh's fresh water ecosystem is in jeopardy.

West Point Historic District is a national historic district located at West Point, King William County, Virginia. The district encompasses 75 contributing buildings and 1 contributing object in the town of West Point. The district includes residential, commercial, and institutional buildings and is notable for its variety of late-19th- and early-20th-century styles and building types. Notable buildings include the William Mitchell House (c. 1850), Anderson-Mayo House (c. 1850), Ware House (c. 1870), St. John's Episcopal Church (1882), Mt. Nebo Baptist Church (1887), West Point United Methodist Church (1889), O'Connor Hotel and annex (c. 1895), Treat-Medlin House (1898), Gouldman House (1923), First Baptist Church (1926), U.S. Post Office (1931), West Point Town Office Building, Citizens and Exchange Bank (1923), and Beverly Allen School (1930s). It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1996.

Eltham is a small unincorporated community in New Kent County, Virginia, United States. Located along state routes 30, 33, and 249 in modern times, it is slightly west of the town of West Point. It was named for the Eltham slave plantation, across from West Point on the nearby Pamunkey River.
