Ulsan

The allied army, number 29,500 men, laid siege to Tosan near Ulsan in late October. The fortress was too heavily fortified to attempt an assault, however a series of engagements did occur around the area, resulting in more than 2,000 Japanese casualties. Allied forces lifted the siege on 2 November. Katō Kiyomasa's men departed for Japan on 14 December 1598.

In recent years the city government launched an initiative to revive traditional markets, and so in 2011 the market underwent renovations, including the addition of new restroom facilities and parking spaces to provide a more modern feel while still retaining the atmosphere of a traditional market.

Ulsan Castle (울산왜성, 蔚山倭城), also known as is a Japanese style castle in Ulsan, South Korea which was constructed during the Japanese invasions of Korea (Imjin war) by Katō Kiyomasa's army. Today, Ulsan Castle is almost ruined by the city planning of Ulsan. Ulsan Japanese Castle was excluded from Historic Sites of South Korea on October 30, 1997.
