Commonwealth Acetate of Lime Factory is a heritage-listed factory at 82 Colmslie Road, Morningside, City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. It is also known as Colmslie Migrant Hostel, Fairmile Naval Base, Hans Continental Smallgoods Factory, and HMAS Moreton, Colmslie. It was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on 7 December 2007.

The Cairncross Dockyard was a shipyard beside the Brisbane River at Morningside, City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. It included one of Australia's largest graving docks with an 8.5 metre deep water access, capable of taking Panamax vessels of up to 85,000 dwt, up to 263 metres long x 33.5 metres wide. It is second in size only to the Royal Australian Navy's Captain Cook Graving Dock in Sydney.Construction of the dockyard began in 1942, and its graving dock opened in 1944. The dockyard closed in 2014, and the land on which it stands is to be sold for residential and commercial redevelopment.

At first, operated as a base for patrol aircraft and convoy escort aircraft to protect the last leg of the Pacific War to the Southwest Pacific. As the US Navy expanded in the island hopping campaign, Naval Base Brisbane expanded to include a submarine base, repair depot, seaplane base and other facilities. US Navy operations started on April 14, 1942, and ended after the war in 1945.

Whinstanes railway station is a former railway station on the Pinkenba railway line in Brisbane, Australia. Constructed in the 19th century next to a branch constructed to service wharves at Hamilton, the station was situated only 300 metres (980 ft) east of Doomben railway station. The station closed in 1976, as it was merged with Doomben station in 1977. This was due to the expense of raising higher level platforms of two stations adjacent to each other and for a time the new station was known as Whinstanes-Doomben, until the "Whinstanes" name was dropped after the line reopened in 1998, following closure of all passenger services in 1993.
