The Tyholt Tunnel is a 2,785-meter (9,137 ft) railway tunnel which runs between Lerkendal and Lademoen on the Stavne–Leangen Line in Trondheim, Norway. The line takes its name for passing under the neighborhood of Tyholt and only sees regular freight traffic. Construction began by the Wehrmacht during the German occupation of Norway from 1940 to 1945, but the project was never completed. The Norwegian State Railways (NSB) resumed the work in the 1950s. Part of the tunnel was built using cut-and-cover, part using a tunneling shield and most of it was blasted. It opened on 1 June 1957.

NRK P1 is a nationwide digital radio channel operated by the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (NRK). It is the result of the NRK radio channel reform initiated in 1993 by radio director Tor Fuglevik. NRK P1 is the direct descendant of NRK's first radio station which began broadcasting in 1933. P1's programming is aimed at a broad mature demographic and it is Norway's most popular radio station, with approximately 1.9 million listeners daily. P1's headquarters are located in the Tyholt area of Trondheim and most of its programmes are made there, except for news broadcasts which are produced, together with some other programming, at Broadcasting House in Marienlyst, Oslo. With its 1,176 FM transmitters using 124 different frequencies, NRK P1 was the largest radio network in Europe. However, all NRK's radio stations were gradually digitised during 2017 and are now transmitted via DAB+ and internet. NRK P1 also transmitted in longwave at 153 kHz via the Ingøy radio transmitter (opened in 2000, closed 2 December 2019 12:06 AM CET), which served the country's fishing fleet in the Barents Sea.

Tyholttårnet is a 126 metre tall radio tower with an observation deck in Trondheim, Norway. With its 124-meter it is currently the tallest building in Norway. Tyholttårnet was built in 1985. The tower features a revolving restaurant, at an altitude of 81 metres, which makes one complete revolution per hour.

Rosenborg (Urban East Norwegian: [ˈrùːsn̩bɔrɡ]) is a neighbourhood in the city of Trondheim in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is located in the borough of Østbyen. It is located east of Møllenberg, south of Lademoen, north of Tyholt, and west of Persaunet. The eastern part of Rosenborg also borders to Kristiansten Fortress and the surrounding park. The area is mostly residential, both houses and apartments. There is also a large amateur football arena that among others hosts the women's team Trondheims-Ørn. The area also has given name to the Norwegian Premier League team Rosenborg Ballklub, that now is located at Lerkendal.

The Singsaker Line (Norwegian: Singsakerlinjen) was a branch of the Trondheim Tramway which ran from Øya and Elgeseter to the neighborhoods of Singsaker, parts of Tyholt and Rosenborg in Trondheim, Norway. The line branched off from the Elgeseter Line at the Student Society. It was double track until Tyholtveien, after which it ran through a loop through Rosenborg. It was served by Line 3, which continued through the city center to Trondheim Central Station. The line opened in 1927 to Ankers gate and was the first of the network not to feature conductors. It was extended to Asbjørnsens gate in 1933. Until 1955 it used the old Class 2 trams, but after 1958 it received wide, more comfortable Class 4 trams. The Rosenborg Loop opened in 1958 along with the introduction of Class 7 trams. In this configuration it was 3.3 kilometers (2.1 mi) long. The line was closed in 1968 and replaced by buses.

Trondheim Business School (Norwegian: Handelshøyskolen i Trondheim) or HHiT, former a faculty of Sør-Trøndelag University College (HiST) in Trondheim, Norway, is, as of 2016, a faculty of Norwegian University of Science and Technology. The school provides economics and business management education. It was founded in 1967 as an independent university college, but in 1994 it and seven other university colleges in Trondheim merged to form HiST. From the merger until 2003 the school was called Sør-Trøndelag University College, Faculty of Economics and Administration. The school is located at Elgeseter, in a building that was officially opened in 2014. The school has about 1200 students, including 150 postgraduate and a few doctoral students. The school only offers one bachelor degree, in business administration, but with possibilities to specialise in finance, accounting, marketing, management, sport management and audition. There is also possibility to get a Master of Science in Business Administration with specialisation in finance, management or marketing.

Singsaker is a neighbourhood in the city of Trondheim in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is located north of the neighborhood of Moholt, east of Gløshaugen, west of Tyholt and Rosenborg, and south of Bakklandet, in the borough of Midtbyen. The area consists almost completely of residential villa housing, despite being quite close to the city center of Trondheim.The neighbourhood is regarded as one of the most affluent in the city, although its close proximity to the Norwegian University of Science and Technology makes it a popular place for student housing, including Singsaker Studenterhjem. Between 1927 and 1968, Singsakerlinjen tram line went from the city center to Singsaker, extending onward to Rosenborg.

Tyholt is a neighbourhood in the city of Trondheim in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is located in the borough of Lerkendal at the highest point in the city of Trondheim. Before 1964, Tyholt was part of the old municipality of Strinda. It borders the neighborhoods Singsaker to the west, Strindheim to the north, Moholt to the south and Valentinlyst to the east. Most of Tyholt is residential. The area has a good view of Trondheim's city centre and the neighborhoods of Lade and Strinda. Tyholt Tower (Tyholttårnet) is a 124-metre (407 ft) tall communications tower which opened in 1985. The Centre for Marine Technology of the Norwegian University of Science and Technology and Centres of Excellence Centre for Ships and Ocean Structures (CeSOS) and AMOS (Centre for Autonomous Marine Operations and Systems) are hosted at facilities close to the tower. Still in close proximity is MARINTEK, hosting the only major test tank for maritime technology in Scandinavia. Located in Tyholt are the Trondheim offices of Telenor and the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation. The latter hosts the radio channels NRK P1 and NRK P3.

Strinda is a former municipality in the old Sør-Trøndelag county, Norway. The 144-square-kilometre (56 sq mi) municipality existed from 1838 until its dissolution in 1964. The municipality encompassed the eastern part of what is now the municipality of Trondheim south and east of the main city center all the way southeast to the lake Jonsvatnet, and it originally included what is now the municipality of Malvik. The western part of the municipality was heavily urbanized, while the areas further east and south were more suburban. The administrative centre was actually located in the neighboring city of Trondheim, just across the Nidelva river on the Kjøpmansgata road.

The Royal Norwegian Air Force Academy (RNoAFA) is the Norwegian Air Force's college which conducts officer training for the RNoAF and the Norwegian Armed Forces. The school was established in 1949 and is one of the Armed Forces´ three military academies. The two others are the Army Academy and the Naval Academy. The students at the Armed Forces´ Academies are referred to as cadets and have full salary during education. The cadets at the RNoAFA have their own association, the Cadet Society (Kadettsamfunnet). The RNoAFA has a staff of 40 and a student body of 80 cadets and has since 1961 been located in Trondheim. The Commandant of the Royal Norwegian Air Force Academy is (from Autumn 2009) Colonel Ole Asbjørn Fauske.

Trondheim International School ("This") was founded in 2004 as an alternative to the Norwegian schools. It became an IB World School in 2008. It sees the IB program as a continuation process from the "PYP" to the "MYP" to the "DP" programs, and therefore has a continuation process with communication with the IB Diploma Program in the Trondheim Cathedral School.

UFFA (Norwegian: Ungdom for fri aktivitet; English: Youth for free activity) is an anarchist youth house in Trondheim, Norway. The self-managed social centre provides a location for concerts and self-organised activities such as an infoshop at the Ivar Matlaus Bokkafé, a hacklab and an anarchist newspaper. Squatterd in 1981, it moved to its present location the following year. The centre was burnt down in 2010 and then rebuilt.
