Willoughby Run is a tributary of Marsh Creek in Adams County, Pennsylvania in the United States.Willoughby Run flows southward between Herr Ridge and McPherson Ridge through the Gettysburg Battlefield.

Freedom Township is a township in Adams County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 825 at the 2020 census.

Fairplay is a populated place in Adams County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is located between the Gettysburg Battlefield and the Mason–Dixon line at the intersection of U.S. Route 15 in Pennsylvania and the Emmitsburg Road near Marsh Creek, in Freedom Township. Moritz' Tavern at the intersection was the site of General John F. Reynolds' headquarters the night before the Battle of Gettysburg.

The Alabama State Monument, also known as the Alabama State Memorial, is a monument which is located in the Gettysburg National Military Park. It memorializes the Confederate units from Alabama that took part in the Battle of Gettysburg.

Eisenhower National Historic Site preserves the home and farm of Dwight D. Eisenhower, the 34th President of the United States, and its surrounding property of 690.5 acres (279.4 ha). It is located in Cumberland Township, Adams County, Pennsylvania, just outside Gettysburg. Purchased by then-General Eisenhower and his wife Mamie in 1950, the farm served as a weekend retreat for the President and a meeting place for world leaders, and became the Eisenhowers' home after they left the White House in 1961. With its putting green, skeet range, and view of South Mountain and the Gettysburg Battlefield, it offered President Eisenhower a much-needed respite from the pressures of Washington. It was also a successful cattle operation, with a show herd of black Angus cattle. Some of the more notable of Eisenhower's guests were Premier Nikita Khrushchev of the Soviet Union, President Charles de Gaulle of France, Prime Minister Winston Churchill of Britain, and Governor Ronald Reagan of California (who later became President himself).

The Sachs Covered Bridge , also known as Sauck's Covered Bridge and Waterworks Covered Bridge, is a 100-foot (30 m), Town truss covered bridge over Marsh Creek between Cumberland and Freedom Townships, Adams County in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. The bridge was also known as the Sauches Covered Bridge at the time of the Battle of Gettysburg. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. During the American Civil War, both the Union and Confederate Armies used the bridge in the Battle of Gettysburg and its aftermath. It is reportedly known to be severely haunted as a result.

Cumberland Township is a township in Adams County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 7,033 at the 2020 census. In 1863, the American Civil War Battle of Gettysburg took place mainly in Cumberland Township, which surrounds the borough of Gettysburg on three sides.

Pitzer Run is a Pennsylvania stream flowing southward between McPherson Ridge and Seminary and Warfield Ridges through the Gettysburg Battlefield to Willoughby Run at the site of Pitzer's School, which was Confederate General Longstreet's headquarters during the Battle of Gettysburg (the school burned in 1915).It was the location of an important clash between Berdan's Sharpshooters and Longstreet's corps as they were assembling prior to Pickett's charge. General Sickles described this in his oration after the battle, "Col. Berdan pushing through the curtain of woods, hurled his dauntless little band directly against the force intended to crush in our left flank and seize the Round Tops;".

Big Round Top is a boulder-strewn hill notable as the topographic high point: 3  of the Gettysburg Battlefield and for 1863 American Civil War engagements for which Medals of Honor were awarded. In addition to battle monuments, a historic postbellum structure on the uninhabited hill is the Big Round Top Observation Tower Foundation Ruin.

Devil's Den is a boulder-strewn hill on the south end of Houck's Ridge at Gettysburg Battlefield, used by artillery and sharpshooters on the second day of the 1863 Battle of Gettysburg during the American Civil War. A tourist attraction since the memorial association era, several boulders are worn from foot traffic and the site includes numerous cannon, memorials, and walkways, including a bridge spanning two boulders.

Rose Woods is a Gettysburg Battlefield forested area that is an American Civil War site of the battle's Hood's Assault, McLaws' Assault, and McCandless' Advance. "Scene of the first line of Union defenses" on the Battle of Gettysburg, Second Day; the 1st Texas Infantry and 3rd Arkansas Infantry Regiments attacked Ward's 2nd Brigade line in the woods. The last combat on the Battle of Gettysburg, Third Day, was "in the early evening. Colonel William McCandless's brigade of Pennsylvania Reserves advanced across the Wheatfield into Rose's Woods where they managed to inflict heavy losses on the 15th Georgia" which had failed to retreat to Warfield Ridge after Longstreet's Assault. Two days later Timothy H. O'Sullivan photographed corpses moved for burial to the edge of Rose Woods and which were subsequently reinterred in cemeteries. De Trobriand Avenue and other Military Park roads provide access to the woods' battlefield monuments, and the woods' railbed for the 1894-1916 Gettysburg Electric Railway is a historic district contributing structure that is now a rail trail. Monuments in the woods include the 1890 Sixty-fourth New York Regiment Monument, and Wheat-field Park in "Wible's Grove" was a commemorative era trolley park. The trolley's overhead power line broke at Wible's Woods in 1900, and the woods had the postbellum "William Wible's Quarry" for Gettysburg Granite (cf. Rosensteel's Quarry north of the Round Top Museum). In 2004, the archeological remains of the former trolley bridge in Rose Woods were named a historic district contributing structure.

Barlow, Pennsylvania (Horner's Mill during the American Civil War) is a populated place between the Gettysburg Battlefield and the Mason–Dixon line at the intersection of Rock Creek and Pennsylvania Route 134. North of the creek on the road summit is the principal facility of the rural community: the 1939 community hall at the Barlow Volunteer Fire Company fire station. The hall is a Cumberland Township polling place and was used by Mamie & Dwight D. Eisenhower after purchasing their nearby farm (President Eisenhower became an honorary company member in 1955). Horner's Mill was the site of an 1861 Union Civil War encampment, and the covered bridge was used by the II Corps (Union Army) and General George G. Meade en route to the 1863 Battle of Gettysburg. Barlow is located near the U.S. Route 15 interchange to the north and has 3 Taneytown Rd intersections with the Barlow-Greenmount, Barlow, and Barlow-Two Taverns roads. South of the community is a site listed on the National Register of Historic Places (Spangler-Benner Farm) near the Mount Joy Lutheran Church and cemetery. The neighboring communities of Barlow are Greenmount 2.9 mi to the west, Round Top 3.3 mi to the north, Two Taverns 5.1 mi to the east, Harney MD 3.1 mi to the south, and Fairplay 3.2 miles to the southwest.
