The Ghent District is a historic neighborhood in Norfolk, Virginia. It comprises Ghent, West Ghent, and Ghent Square. Other portions of surrounding neighborhoods are often attributed to Ghent as an extension of its commerce including Chelsea, North Colley Avenue, and active gentrification into portions of Park Place to the north, labelled 'The Railroad District'. Ghent's boundaries to the south are Mowbray Arch/Brambleton Avenue along The Hague and the Neon District, the Elizabeth River to the west, Monticello Avenue on the east, and the railroad crossing at 22nd Street to the North.

Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters (CHKD), located in Norfolk, Virginia, United States, is the only freestanding children's hospital in Virginia. The hospital treats infants, children, teens, and young adults aged 0–21 and even some adults who require pediatric care.CHKD is a 206-bed hospital and serves the medical and surgical needs of children throughout the greater Hampton Roads metro area, the Eastern Shore of Virginia and northeastern North Carolina. It is also part of CHKD Health System, offering a network of comprehensive pediatric services in more than 40 locations that stretch from Williamsburg, VA, to Elizabeth City, NC. On the outpatient side, CHKD offers primary care, diagnostic services, urgent care, emergency care, rehabilitative therapies, day surgery and care in more than 20 pediatric subspecialties.

Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS) is a public medical school in Norfolk, Virginia. Founded by grassroots efforts in the Southeastern part of Virginia known as Hampton Roads, EVMS is not affiliated with an undergraduate institution and coordinates training through multiple medical centers in the Hampton Roads region. EVMS campus includes the 555-bed Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, the region's only tertiary level 1 trauma medical care facility, and the 212-bed Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters, a regional pediatric referral care facility and only stand-alone children's hospital in the state. EVMS is the first institution in the US to have produced a viable fetus through in vitro fertilization. EVMS is most known for its reproductive medicine and simulation/standardized-patient education as well as research in pediatrics, geriatrics, diabetes, and cancer. In addition, EVMS is well known for its leadership in community service and medical missions as evidenced by faculty and alumni responsible for the founding of Operation Smile, Physicians for Peace, Global Brigades, and CONRAD.

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital (SNGH) is a large academic hospital, which serves as the primary teaching institution for the adjacent Eastern Virginia Medical School. Located in Norfolk, Virginia, in the Ghent neighborhood and adjacent to Downtown, the hospital serves as the Hampton Roads region's only Level I trauma center. The hospital is interconnected to the Sentara Heart Hospital, however, it is considered a separate institution. Together with the adjacent Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters, Eastern Virginia Medical School and the Norfolk Department of Health, the Eastern Virginia Medical Center is the largest conglomerate center for health in Hampton Roads. For a time, the U.S. News & World Report rated it the best in Virginia. In 2016, SNGH is tied with VCU Medical Center ranked as #2 while University of Virginia Health System ranked first.

The North Ghent Historic District is a national historic district located at Norfolk, Virginia. It encompasses 322 contributing buildings in a primarily residential section of Norfolk. It developed primarily between 1897 and 1912 as a northward extension of Ghent. The neighborhood includes notable examples of a variety of architectural styles including the Greek Revival and Queen Anne styles. Notable non-residential buildings include the First Presbyterian Church, Ohef Sholom Temple, and Ghent Methodist Church (1921). Located in the district is the separately listed Christ and St. Luke's Church.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2001.

Christ and St. Luke's Church is a historic Episcopal church located at Norfolk, Virginia. It was built in 1909–1910, and is a long, narrow building of rough-faced random ashlar in the English Perpendicular Gothic Revival style. It features a tall, four-stage corner tower crowned with battlements and pinnacles.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. It is located in the North Ghent Historic District.

EVMC/Fort Norfolk is a Tide Light Rail station in Norfolk, Virginia. It opened in 2011 and is the western terminus of the line. It is situated at the intersection of Brambleton and Colley Avenues, just west of downtown and south of the historic Ghent district.The station serves Eastern Virginia Medical Center, consisting of Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters, Eastern Virginia Medical School, the Norfolk Ronald McDonald House, Norfolk Public Health Center and American Red Cross Center, which combined have almost 20,000 employees. This stop also serves Fort Norfolk and the international headquarters for PETA.

The Security Storage and Safe Deposit Company Warehouse is a historic storage facility at 517-523 Front Street in Norfolk, Virginia. It is a large concrete structure with four levels of storage, and was built in 1916. It is a rare survivor in an area that once had many warehouses, and is distinctive for its subdued decorations, which differentiate it from otherwise nondescript brick or concrete warehouses.The warehouse was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2014.

Fort Norfolk is a historic fort and national historic district located at Norfolk, Virginia. With the original buildings having been built between 1795 and 1809, the fort encloses 11 buildings: main gate, guardhouse, officers' quarters, powder magazine, and carpenter's shop. Fort Norfolk is the last remaining fortification of President George Washington's 18th century harbor defenses, later termed the first system of US fortifications. It has served as the district office for the U.S. Army Engineer District, Norfolk since 1923.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976, and became a Virginia Landmark in 2013. Now it is preserved as a historic fort and is open to the public during the summer.

Virginia Ice & Freezing Corporation Cold Storage Warehouse is a historic cold-storage warehouse building in Norfolk, Virginia, United States. It was built in 1920, and is a three-story concrete block building on a concrete foundation, built in three sections. The sections are a two-story, eight-bay warehouse; a three-story, L-shaped addition; and a two-story concrete block addition. The Virginia Ice & Freezing Corp. had one of the largest ice and cold storage operations in Norfolk and was next to several of the leading oyster and fish processing plants.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2009.

The James Blair Middle School, formerly the James Blair Junior High School is a historic school building at 730 Spotswood Avenue in Norfolk, Virginia. Its original main block is a three-story brick building with limestone trim, and Beaux Arts styling. Built in 1922 to a design by the local architectural firm of Calrow, Wrenn, and Tazewell, it was the first junior high school to be built by the city school administration. The school is named for James Blair, one of the founders of Virginia's College of William and Mary, and was converted to a middle school in the 1980s.The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.

Kenmure, also known as the William Lamb House, is an urban antebellum home located in Norfolk, Virginia's historic West Freemason District, at 420 West Bute Street. It derives its name from the Scottish family estate.
