White Plains Senior High School is a high school in the White Plains Public Schools system of White Plains, New York, United States. It was selected by the U.S. Department of Education as a School of Excellence in 1986–1987. The school's code of conduct and state accountability report are available online.

Woman's Club of White Plains, originally known as the Thomas H. Kerr residence, is a historic clubhouse located at White Plains, Westchester County, New York. It was built in 1910 as a residence and enlarged in 1932, after being acquired as a clubhouse for the Contemporary Club. McKim, Mead and (Sanford) White were the architects of this property, which originally had 41 acres, including a small farm and extensive orchards. It is a two-story, stuccoed, poured concrete building in the Italian Renaissance Revival style. It features a broad hipped roof, deep overhanging eaves, and prominent brick chimneys. It has large glass-enclosed porches at each end of the house.The murals in the dining room were shipped from a villa in the Mediterranean where they were hand painted in the late 1800s. These murals were hidden under shellac in the club living room until discovered and restored. The graciously appointed house reflects the style of its original era, complete with library, tea room, and period lighting fixtures. However, the edifice is constantly being updated, to keep current in this 21st century. Maintenance of its gardens is overseen by club members. The residence has hosted notable speakers on its stage, including Eleanor Roosevelt, Helen Keller, Tallulah Bankhead, Carl Sandburg, David McCullough, and Admiral Richard Byrd.In 1913, American Homes and Gardens magazine said, "It would be difficult to imagine a country home of greater beauty and refinement than this beautiful place."Because the Woman's Club was a unique and integral part of its community, and because of its exceptionally well-preserved architecture, the house was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2010.

The Stouffer’s Inn fire occurred on Thursday, December 4, 1980, at the Stouffer's Inn of Westchester (now the Renaissance Westchester Hotel, part of Renaissance Hotels) in West Harrison, New York. The fire killed 26 people, most through smoke inhalation, specifically carbon monoxide, hydrogen cyanide, and nitrogen dioxide. The fire is considered the biggest disaster in Westchester County history.

Burke Rehabilitation Hospital is a non-profit, 150-bed acute rehabilitation hospital located in White Plains, New York. It is the only hospital in Westchester County entirely dedicated to rehabilitation medicine. Opening in 1915, Burke has been involved in medical rehabilitation for over one hundred years. As of January 2016, Burke is a member of the Montefiore Health System, Inc. Burke provides inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation to patients with a broad range of neurological, musculoskeletal, cardiac, and pulmonary disabilities caused by disease or injury. Burke treats patients who have suffered a stroke, spinal cord injury, brain injury, amputations, complicated fractures, cardiac disease, arthritis and pulmonary disease as well as neurological disorders such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, and multiple sclerosis.Patients are generally from the eastern United States, but Burke also sees patients from other parts of the U.S. and, through its International Patient Program, from abroad. It has approximately 600 employees and 17 full-time physicians.Burke Rehabilitation Hospital is accredited by the Joint Commission and the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities.

The Harrison New York Temple, previously known as the White Plains New York Temple, was a planned temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) that was to be constructed in Harrison, New York. Construction of the temple was to take place on a 24-acre site purchased by the LDS Church at the intersection of Interstate 287 and Hutchinson River Parkway. Reportedly, efforts had been underway until 2004, but construction was never started and eventually suspended. After delays by lawsuits and objections by local officials, this temple was removed from the list on the LDS Church's official temple website soon after the dedication of the Manhattan New York Temple. Any decision to build a temple on this site would constitute a new announcement.

Archbishop Stepinac High School is an American all-boys' Roman Catholic high school in White Plains, New York. It was operated by the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New York until the 2009–2010 school year, when it became independent of the Archdiocese It was founded in 1948 and named after Aloysius Stepinac, who was the Archbishop of Zagreb in Croatia (which was then part of Yugoslavia). In 1952, Stepinac was appointed a cardinal by Pope Pius XII. Stepinac was beatified by Pope John Paul II in 1998.

Keio Academy of New York (慶應義塾ニューヨーク学院, Keiō Gijuku Nyūyōku Gakuin, Keio NY) is a private high school in Purchase, Harrison, New York in the New York City metropolitan area. It is sponsored by Keio University, making it an overseas branch of a Japanese private school, or a Shiritsu zaigai kyōiku shisetsu (私立在外教育施設).After the retirement of the Head of School, Ralph Townsend who served from August 2019, the executive director, Motohiro Tsuchiya (vice-president of Keio University) concurrently served. Later, Takayuki Tatsumi, Professor Emeritus of Keio University, was appointed as the Headmaster in January 2022.

Texaco Headquarters is a corporate campus in White Plains, New York. When it opened in 1977, the building became the new head office of Texaco, which had been based in the Chrysler Building in Manhattan since 1930. Design was undertaken by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, who assigned the project to J. Walter Severinghaus. After Chevron acquired Texaco in October 2001, the building was purchased by Morgan Stanley in March 2002.

The Mastercard International Global Headquarters is an office building located at 2000 Purchase Street in the hamlet of Purchase, New York. It was constructed in the early 1980s as part of a movement of large corporations onto suburban estate settings, and has been called the "architectural jewel of Westchester". The building is part of the Purchase Centre complex and originally was constructed by the Nestlé company and occupied by IBM for several years. It was designed by I. M. Pei of Pei Cobb Freed & Partners and has won awards over the years for its architectural style.

Reid Hall, also known as "The Castle," is a historic academic building located on the campus of Manhattanville College at Purchase, Westchester County, New York, United States. The Renaissance Revival structure was built in 1892 as a 50,000 sq ft (4,600 m2) private home for publisher and diplomat Whitelaw Reid, with estate landscaping by Frederick Law Olmsted.

Manhattanville College is a private university in Purchase, New York. Founded in 1841 at 412 Houston Street in lower Manhattan, it was initially known as Academy of the Sacred Heart, then after 1847 as Manhattanville College of the Sacred Heart. In 1917, the academy received a charter from the Regents of the State of New York to raise the school officially to a collegiate level granting degrees as the College of the Sacred Heart. In 1952 it moved to its current location in the hamlet of Purchase, New York, a suburb north of New York City. Purchase is inside the town and village of Harrison in Westchester County. Approximately 1,100 undergraduate and 900 graduate students attend Manhattanville, with students coming from 45+ countries and 35+ American states.The architectural and administrative centerpiece of the Manhattanville campus is Reid Hall (1864) which was named after Whitelaw Reid, publisher and owner of the New-York Tribune, one of the leading newspapers in the nation for a century.
