BurJuman (Arabic: بر جمان) is one of the oldest shopping malls in Dubai, in the residential area of Bur Dubai, in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It is developed and owned by Al Ghurair Group. The distinctive landmark comprises over 2.8 million square feet of mixed-use space including the shopping mall, business tower, hotel suites and duplex residences. The mall comprises over 800,000 sq ft (74,000 m2). In November 2003, BurJuman won 2 MAXI Merit awards from The International Council of Shopping Centers. In March 2006, BurJuman was awarded the "Mall of the Year" award at the prestigious 1st Retail Middle East Awards.

ADCB (Arabic: بنك أبوظبي التجاري; formerly Al Karama) is a rapid transit station on the Red Line of the Dubai Metro in Dubai, UAE, serving the Al Karama district. The station is named after the Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank. The station opened as part of the Red Line on 30 April 2010, originally named Al Karama. It is close to Al Karama Bus Station, Al Attar Shopping Mall, Dubai Central Post Office, the Karama Centre, and the Karama Market. The station is also close to a number of bus routes.

BurJuman (Arabic: برجمان, Arabic pronunciation: [barjamann]; formerly Khalid Bin Al Waleed) is a rapid transit station serving the Red and Green Lines of the Dubai Metro in Dubai, UAE. It is one of two transfer stations between the two lines, the other being Union. Since it began service, over 15.611 million passengers have used BurJuman station, making it the second-busiest station of the Dubai Metro network.

Al Karama, or simply Karama (Arabic: الكرامة, literally meaning dignity), is a residential district of Dubai located on the western banks of the Dubai Creek and one of the older communities of the city. It is outwardly distinctive due to the regularity of its low-rise residential buildings. The area, which was planned on a tight grid system, is home to thousands of people even though it is only two square kilometers in size. Al Karama is the most populous residential area in Dubai and the most central part of Dubai. Al Karama is also one of the most accessible parts in Dubai, that makes it very easy for residents to travel to any other parts of the city from Karama with ease due to the wide range of transport available in the town.

The Alwasl University operates programs aimed at foreign students, including non-Muslims. Instruction is offered in Arabic, French and English.

Al Mankhool (Arabic: المنخول) is a locality in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE). Located in western Dubai, in the area of Bur Dubai, Al Mankhool is largely a residential area. However, several restaurants, hotels and financial service corporations (such as Citibank and Emirates NBD) are located in Al Mankhool. Route D 90 (Al Mankhool Road) runs east–west through the locality, while Khaled bin Al Waleed Street runs perpendicular to Al Mankhool road. The section of Khaled bin Waleed Street that is in the proximity of Al Mankhool is sometimes referred to as Bank Street by expatriates. Al Mankhool is bordered by Umm Hurair in the north, Al Rifa in the west, Al Karama to the east and Al Jafiliya to the south. Important landmarks in Al Mankhool include the Al Mankhool Community Health Centre and the Bur Dubai Etisalat service centre.

Sharaf DG (Arabic: شرف دي جي, Arabic pronunciation: [shrf di'ji]; formerly Al Fahidi) is a rapid transit station on the Green Line of the Dubai Metro in Dubai, UAE.

Al Hamriya (Arabic: اﻟﺤﻤﺮﻳﺔ) is a locality in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE). It is located in western Dubai, along Dubai Creek in Bur Dubai. Al Hamriya is largely a residential area; however several shopping complexes and foreign consulates are in its proximity. Dubai Creek is to the north; the locality of Al Souk Al Kabir and Umm Hurair are located to its west and east, respectively. Important landmarks near or in Al Hamriya include BurJuman, Bank of Umm Al Quwain, Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, Al Muassala Towers, and Four Points by Sheraton. Some of the consulates in the area include those of India, Britain, Oman, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.

Al Rifa (Arabic: الرفاعة), also spelled Al Raffa, is a locality in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE). Located in western Dubai, in Bur Dubai, Al Rifa borders Al Souk Al Kabir to the north, Al Hudaiba to the south, Port Rashid to the west and Al Mankhool to the east. Al Rifa is largely a residential community; however several banks, restaurants and shopping centres (such as Al Khaleej Centre) are located in Al Rifa. Al Rifa comes under one of the safest residential places in Dubai and has no incidents of any illegal or dangerous activities.The Falcon roundabout was located here. Built it the early 1970s it was demolished later.

The Centre for Arab Genomic Studies (CAGS) is a not-for-profit study centre aimed at the characterization and prevention of genetic disorders in the Arab World. The Centre is closely associated with the Sheikh Hamdan Award for Medical Sciences. One of the major projects of CAGS is the Catalogue for Transmission Genetics in Arabs (CTGA), an online, freely accessible database of genetic disorders reported from the Arab World. CAGS has been involved in the Human Variome Project as a representative of the Arab region and has been one of the first organizations to take an active lead in working on the project. CAGS organizes the Pan Arab Human Genetics Conference every alternate year, to provide a platform for discussion and education on genetic issues in the region.

Dubai Museum (Arabic: متحف دبي) is the main museum in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It is located in the Al Fahidi Fort (Arabic: حصن الفهيدي), built in 1787 and is the oldest existing building in Dubai. The museum was opened by the Ruler of Dubai in 1971, with the aim of presenting the traditional way of life in the Emirate of Dubai. When entering, one can see the fort constructed and the various displays that go along with it. From the fort, there is a path to the galleries, which display the general culture of the land, especially in the 1800s. It includes local antiques as well as artifacts from African and Asian countries that traded with Dubai. It also includes several dioramas showing life in the emirate before the advent of oil, in addition to artifacts from recent discoveries as old as 3000 BC. In 2007, Dubai Museum received 1,800 visitors daily, with a yearly total of 611,840. In March 2008, the museum had 80,000 visitors. The most popular times are from August to April. The museum received over 1 million visitors in 2013. The total area of Dubai museum is 4,000 square meters.

The Hyacinth incident was a 1910 British military action against suspected gun runners based in Dubai, then one of the Trucial States and now one of the United Arab Emirates, which resulted in street fighting between the town's citizens and British soldiers and culminated in the shelling of Dubai by HMS Hyacinth using high explosive munitions. The attack and subsequent bombardment resulted in the killing of 37 of Dubai's townspeople, as well as four dead and five wounded British servicemen.
