Albourne

Sayers Common is a village in the Mid Sussex District of West Sussex, England. With Hurstpierpoint it forms one of the Mid Sussex parishes. It is located two miles (3.2 km) north-west of Hurstpierpoint. Situated until the 1990s on the main London to Brighton A23 road it has become a more popular residential village since being partially bypassed by the new A23 road. It has some very old cottages at its heart, and also contains the Priory of Our Lady, previously a residential retreat, now a specialist school for children with autism. The parish has an area of 2,029.88 square kilometres (501,590 acres) and a population of 6264 persons (2001 census). The village has become well known in recent years as the location for one of the south easts largest car boot sales open most Sundays from March to October. It is in the civil parish of Hurstpierpoint and Sayers Common.

Mansion House is a prominent and historically significant Grade II* listed Georgian village property in Hurstpierpoint, West Sussex, England. The substantial family home is situated in the heart of Hurstpierpoint with the High Street at the front and South Downs to the rear. The brick faced timber framed building has surviving medieval sections dating back to the mid to late 16th century. Maggie Henderson, an historic buildings archaeologist, was commissioned to carry out a historic building survey of the grade II* Listed Mansion House, High Street, Hurstpierpoint, West Sussex. The report was commissioned to assess the origin and development of the property over time based on the surviving fabric of the building. As part of the project, a programme of documentary research was also carried out including an assessment of available historic maps.

Hurstpierpoint is a village in West Sussex, England, 4 miles (6.4 km) southwest of Burgess Hill, and 1.5 miles (2.4 km) west of Hassocks railway station. It sits in the civil parish of Hurstpierpoint and Sayers Common which has an area of 2029.88 ha and a population of 7,112.The village was once chiefly one long street running east and west and most of the buildings in it are of the 18th century or later. In the late 20th Century and early 21st Century saw Hurstpierpoint expanding greatly with new homes built north, east and west of the village. Hurstpierpoint hosts the Hurst Festival which takes place every summer and has an active Scouts and Guides Groups.

Newtimber Place is a Grade I listed building in the Mid Sussex district of West Sussex, England. The house sits on a D-shaped island in a moat. The oldest part of the house dates from the 16th century.The north wing is apparently the oldest part of the building, dating from the 16th century. It was considerably extended in the 17th century by the addition of the east wing. The house is built from flint and red brick with stone quoins.The grounds are in the northern part of the civil parish of Newtimber, which gets its name from the building.

Newtimber is a small village and civil parish in the Mid Sussex District of West Sussex, England. It is located north-west of Brighton. The parish also includes the hamlet of Saddlescombe. The parish lies almost wholly with the South Downs National Park, with the exception of a small section of the parish north of the B2117 road. The planning authority for Newtimber is therefore the South Downs National Park Authority (SDNPA), the statutory planning authority for the National Park area. The downland scarp, which includes Newtimber Hill, Newtimber Holt, Saddlescombe chalk quarry and Summer Down, is mostly part of the Beeding Hill to Newtimber Hill, designated Site of Special Scientific Interest. The parish covers an area of 695 hectares (1,720 acres). At the 2011 Census the population was included in the civil parish of Poynings.

The All England Jumping Course at Hickstead, known widely as Hickstead, is an equestrian centre in West Sussex, England, principally known for its showjumping. It hosts two international competitions, the Al Shira'aa British Jumping Derby Meeting and the Longines Royal International Horse Show. The course was the first permanent showground for equestrian sport in the country, opening in 1960. The first Hickstead Derby was held in 1961. Hickstead is best known as the home of British showjumping, though its major fixtures also feature other disciplines such as showing, carriage driving, scurry driving, side-saddle and arena eventing. Over the years, the venue has expanded its operations to include other equestrian sports like dressage and arena polo, as well as hosting functions and conferences all year round.It is located adjacent to the hamlet of Twineham, to the west of Burgess Hill and next to the main A23 road from London to Brighton.

Twineham is a village and civil parish in the Mid Sussex District of West Sussex, England. It is located eight kilometres (5 miles) to the west of Burgess Hill. The civil parish covers an area of 784 hectares (1,940 acres) In the 2001 census 271 people lived in 100 households, of whom 139 were economically active. The 2011 Census population was 306.The village centre has no pub, post office or shop. There is only the church and the school. The hamlet of Hickstead lies at the eastern end of the parish, on the A23 road, 2.7 mi (4.3 km) west of Burgess Hill.

Danny is a Grade I listed Elizabethan red brick mansion near Hurstpierpoint in West Sussex, England. It lies at the northern foot of Wolstonbury Hill and may be regarded as one of the finest stately houses in Sussex, with 56 bedrooms and 28 apartments. The present house was built 1593–95 by George Goring, on the site of an older house. It is set in eight acres (32,000 m2) of gardens at the foot of the South Downs within an historic parkland of some 400 acres, which was granted by royal charter in 1333.

St Peter's Church is the Church of England parish church of Twineham, a village in the Mid Sussex District of West Sussex, England. The church, with St Barthomew's in Albourne and Christ Church in Sayers Common, serves the modern ecclesiastical parish of Albourne, Sayers Common and Twineham (ASCaT).The church is Tudor, probably dating from the early 16th century. According to local tradition it was built in 1516, early in the reign of Henry VIII and before the English Reformation. The church is built of brick, consisting of a chancel, nave, south porch, and west tower, with a shingled oak spire. The church was sympathetically restored in 1894, when an organ-chamber was added on the north side of the chancel.The church is a Grade I listed building, included on the National Heritage List for England ‘for the rarity of small early C16 churches’ (List Entry Number 1284819, first listed 28 October 1957).
