Cork Airport (Irish: Aerfort Chorcaí, IATA: ORK, ICAO: EICK) is the second-largest of the three principal international airports in the Republic of Ireland, after Dublin and ahead of Shannon. It is located 6.5 km (4.0 mi) south of Cork city centre in an area known as Farmers Cross. In 2018, Cork Airport handled 2,392,821, growing by 8.3% to 2,585,466 passengers as of 2019 and representing a fourth consecutive year of growth. Aviation was severely impacted by the COVID-19 global pandemic in 2020 and passenger numbers at Cork Airport fell to 530,000, a decline of 80%.Cork is the state's second-busiest airport in terms of passenger numbers, after Dublin, and third busiest on the island of Ireland, after Dublin and Belfast International.

Cork International Hotel is a hotel located at Cork Airport, in the grounds of the Airport Business Park. It was officially opened on 1 July 2007. The hotel, which is within a short walk of Cork Airport, was listed in the 2016 McKennas' Guide "100 Best Places to Stay in Ireland" and the Trivago "Top Hotel Awards 2015".Cork International Hotel is a four star hotel with 145 rooms.The hotel has 10 conference meeting rooms, the largest of which has the capacity for up to 350 people.

Spur Hill transmitter This broadcast transmission site is located to the south of the city of Cork, Ireland, just north west of Cork airport, it has a cable-stayed mast 60m tall on an elevation of 137m ASL. The transmitter was initially opened in 1965 as a VHF relay of the main Mullaghanish television transmitter in County Cork. Later, FM radio transmitters were also added providing a relay of the national radio channels, and more recently, digital radio broadcasting (DAB) was started from the site. On its conversion to UHF television transmission in 1996, it became the main transmitter serving Cork city, carrying the four Irish analogue channels, RTÉ One (Ch53), RTÉ Two (Ch57), TV3 (Ch60), and TG4 (Ch63) at an effective radiated power of 20 kW. On 24 October 2012 all analogue television transmission ended in Ireland, and the station now provides the Irish DTT service Saorview to Cork city and environs. It is owned and operated by 2RN, a subsidiary of the Irish national broadcaster RTÉ.

St Finbarr's National Hurling & Football Club or St Finbarr's Hurling and Football Club is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in the Togher area of Cork city, County Cork, Ireland. St Finbarr's, who play in royal blue and gold jerseys, are the only club in Ireland to win All-Ireland club championships in both hurling and football. The club has won Cork County Senior Championships in every decade except the first decade of the 21st century. This record was almost upheld in 2009 when the club reached the final in the Cork County Senior Football Championship, only to lose out by a point to Clonakilty. Between 1980 and 1982, the club won three Cork County Hurling Championships in a row. This feat had not been repeated until Imokilly did so between 2017 and 2019.

Coláiste Stiofáin Naofa is an educational institution in Cork city in Ireland. Like other further education colleges in Ireland, the college offers further education courses, including Post Leaving Certificate courses.Coláiste Stiofáin Naofa has been involved in adult education and further education since 1986. Courses offered include radio broadcasting, art, furniture design, construction technologies, humanities, business, information technology, performing arts, and music.Between 2011 and 2019, the college was subject to separate investigations for "breaches of procurement rules", facilities concerns, and funding "irregularities".

Ballygarvan (Irish: Baile Garbháin) is a village in County Cork, Ireland. It lies 9km south of Cork City. The village had a population of 556 inhabitants as of the 2016 census. Occupying the eastern half of Ballinhassig parish, the village lies in the valley between Myrtle Hill and Meadstown Hill, beside the River Owenabue. The village is just off the Cork-Kinsale road with Cork City 9 km to the north. Cork Airport is located 2 km away in the Farmers Cross area.Facilities in Ballygarvan include a church, a primary school, a public house, a hairdresser, and a creche. The village has a GAA club and playing pitch.Ballygarvan GAA club won the Cork Junior Hurling Championship in 2004 and 2014. In 1921 the village school was burned down by British forces following an IRA ambush in nearby Ballinhassig.Notable local residents have included GAA patron Liam MacCarthy (after whom the Liam MacCarthy Cup is named), Cork footballer Ger Spillane, hurler Stephen White and camogie player Emer Dillon.

Wilton Shopping Centre, located in the Wilton area of Cork, is the second biggest shopping centre in the city. It opened on 6 December 1979, and has 65 shops. In 2003, construction began to add 10 new units, and outlets in the centre now include Tesco, Penneys, New Look, Life Style Sports, and Easons.Permission to build a library on the shopping centre grounds was granted in 2004, and Bishopstown Library was opened in 2006. Other facilities adjacent to Wilton Shopping Centre include St Joseph's (S.M.A. Wilton) Catholic Church, Ulster Bank and Bank of Ireland branches, and the Wilton Bar and Restaurant.

Wilton is a suburb of Cork City. It is the site of Cork University Hospital, Cork's largest hospital. Other landmarks include Wilton Shopping Centre and St. Finbarr's Cemetery, which lies on the border between Wilton and Glasheen and is the resting place of some of Cork's most notable citizens.

St. Finbarr's Cemetery (Irish: Reilig Naomh Fionn Barra) in Cork, Ireland, is the city's largest and one of the oldest cemeteries in Ireland which is still in use. Located on the Glasheen Road, it was first opened in the 1860s. The entrance gateway was erected circa 1865, and the mortuary chapel consecrated in 1867.Many of the early burials were of the wealthy citizens of the city. Unlike older cemeteries, St. Finbarr's was professionally laid out with numbered pathways and wide avenues.

The Kinsale Road Roundabout (Irish: Timpeall Bóthair Chionn tSáile) is a five-arm signalised roundabout in Cork City, located approximately 3km south of the city centre at the junction of the N40 South Ring Road and the N27 South City Link/Airport Road. The South Ring Road was constructed on a phased basis from the late 1980s, with the Kinsale Road Roundabout opening in 1990. With the completion of the downstream crossing of the River Lee, the Jack Lynch Tunnel, there was a marked increase in traffic using the N40, which in turn led to increased delays at the Kinsale Road Roundabout. A flyover (overpass) was therefore built over the roundabout in 2006.

Cork University Hospital (Irish: Ospidéal na hOllscoile Corcaigh) is a large university teaching hospital in Wilton, Cork in Ireland. Its academic partner is University College Cork. It is the only Level 1 Trauma Centre in Ireland. It is a public hospital managed by the South/Southwest Hospital Group, a part of the Health Service Executive.

Ballyphehane (Irish: Baile Féitheáin) is a suburb in the south of Cork in Ireland. It is one of the oldest suburbs in Cork and was created as part of a post-World War II initiative to create a model community in Cork. Between 1948 and 1993, a total of 11 housing schemes totalling 1,316 dwellings were built by Cork Corporation, now known as Cork City Council. Many of the main roads in Ballyphehane are named after the executed leaders of the 1916 Rising.The electoral divisions of Ballyphehane A and Ballyphehane B have a combined population of over 1400 people.
