The Azadi Stadium (Persian: ورزشگاه آزادی Varzešgâh-è Âzâdi), opened as the Aryamehr Stadium (Persian: ورزشگاه آریامهر Varzešgâh-è Âryâmehr), is an all-seater football stadium in Tehran, Iran. The stadium was designed by Abdol Aziz Mirza Farman-Farmaian Architects and Associates (AFFA) with other parts of the sports complex based on plans by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, an American architectural, urban planning, and engineering firm. It was inaugurated on 17 October 1971 by Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, the last Shah of Iran; it is currently self-owned by Esteghlal and Persepolis. It is also the home stadium of the Iran national football team. It has a capacity of 78,116 spectators, as the result of conversion to all-seater stadium. The stadium is part of the larger Azadi Sport Complex.Aryamehr (meaning "Light of the Aryans") was the title of the said Shah; it was renamed after the Iranian Revolution to Azadi (meaning "freedom" in Persian). It is the 1st largest association football stadium in Western Asia. It was built to host the 1974 Asian Games and has hosted the 1976 AFC Asian Cup. The stadium also hosted five finals of Asian Club Competitions: three finals of AFC Champions League in 1999, 2002 and 2018 and two finals of Asian Cup Winners' Cup in 1991 and 1993. Azadi Stadium also hosted WAFF Championship Tournament in 2004 and 2008.Because of the loud sound of vuvuzelas, similar to the sound of bees, the stadium is sometimes referred to as a "Bee swarm".

The Azadi Basketball Arena is an all-seater indoor arena located in Tehran, Iran. It is a part of 5 Halls Complex within the Azadi Sport Complex. It seats 3,000 people.

The Āzādi Sport Complex (Persian: مجموعه ورزشی آزادی), formerly known as Āryāmehr Sports Complex (Persian: مجموعه ورزشی آریامهر), is the national sports complex of Iran based in Tehran. The Azadi Stadium is located within the walls of this complex. It was designed by Abdol-Aziz Mirza Farmanfarmaian along with the San Francisco office of Skidmore, Owings & Merill, and constructed by Iran's Arme Construction Company.The complex was initially built for the 1974 Asian Games, with a future Olympic Games bid in mind. A year later it was showcased as Tehran's short-lived bid to host the 1984 Summer Olympics. In 2013, global media reports acknowledged Azadi Sports Complex as one of the top 20 stadiums worldwide.Presently, the Azadi Stadium serves as the primary venue for the home matches of the Iranian national football team, as well as for two clubs of the capital city, Persepolis and Esteghlal.

Iran National Football Camp (Persian: کمپ تیم‌های ملی فوتبال ایران), also known as Performance Elite Center (PEC), is an association football training facility in Tehran, Iran. Located in west of Azadi Sport Complex and operated by Iranian Football Federation, the camp is mostly used by Iran national football team.The camp has a number of football fields, an indoor futsal pitch, a bodybuilding gym, classrooms, medical clinic, restaurant and dormitory. The main building of "Iran Football Academy", which operates Iran youth football teams is located inside the complex.

The Azadi Indoor Stadium, officially named Azadi 12,000 Capacity Hall (Persian: سالن دوازده هزار نفری آزادی), is an indoor sports arena in Tehran, Iran. The stadium has a seating capacity of 6,583, and the stadium capacity with standing room is 12,000. This indoor stadium is located within the Azadi Sport Complex. It is mainly used for volleyball, wrestling and futsal matches, but occasionally basketball games are played here. Azadi Indoor Stadium is house Iran national volleyball team. Azadi still hosted FIVB Volleyball World League. Azadi Indoor Stadium hosted the 2014 FILA Wrestling World Cup.

Varzeshgah-e Azadi Metro Station, translated as Azadi Stadium Metro Station is a station in Tehran Metro Line 5. It is located north of Tehran-Karaj Freeway and south of Azadi Stadium. It is between Eram-e Sabz Metro Station and Chitgar Metro Station.

Eram Amusement Park پارک ارم, is the largest theme park in Iran. The park was established in 1972 by Rahimali Khorram, after whom the park was named until 1979. Eram Park is located on the Tehran–Karaj Freeway in Tehran province and covers an area of 70 hectares (170 acres).khorram Park consists of two lunaparks with 28 facilities with more than 120 devices for children and adults, Tehran Zoological Garden with more than 110 species, and an 8-hectare (20-acre) lake for barefoot skiing, cable skiing, canoeing, rowing, and kayaking. The Tehran Zoological Garden (Persian: باغ‌وحش تهران), also known as "Eram Zoo" (باغ‌وحش ارم), is located 4 km (2.5 mi) on the Tehran–Karaj Freeway in the Eram Amusement Park, Tehran province, Iran. Inaugurated in 1992, the zoo covers an area of 4.5 ha (11 acres) and houses over 290 species.

Allameh Tabataba'i University (ATU; [ˌælɒːˈme tæbɒːtæbɒːˈʔiː] Persian: دانشگاه علامه طباطبائی, Danushgah-e 'lâmh-e Tâbatâbai) is the largest and the leading specialized public university in humanities and social sciences in Iran. With 15,624 students and 422 full-time faculty members the university is under the supervision of Ministry of Science, Research and Technology is named in honor of Allameh Tabataba'i, a prominent Iranian sage and philosopher. Since its establishment by integration of 27 independent colleges, faculties and institutes of higher education in 1983, the university has evolved into the country’s most eminent university in humanities and social sciences.

Sepahan Airlines Flight 5915 was a scheduled domestic passenger flight from Iranian capital Tehran Mehrabad International Airport to Tabas, South Khorasan province, Iran. On 10 August 2014, the HESA IrAn-140 twin turboprop serving the flight crashed shortly after takeoff from Mehrabad International Airport, falling into a boulevard near the Azadi Stadium. Of the 42 passengers and six crew on board, 40 people died.Iran's Civil Aviation Organization mainly attributed the crash to mechanical error. The aircraft suffered a malfunction on one of its engines shortly after take-off. Mismanagement of the emergency by the crew caused the aircraft to lose altitude rapidly, causing it to crash onto a boulevard. Subsequently, investigators also blamed the confusing Aircraft Flight Manual (AFM) that caused the crew to over-estimate the maximum take-off weight.
