Carpinteria State Beach is a protected beach in the state park system of California, in Santa Barbara County, Southern California.

The Carpinteria Tar Pits (also Carpinteria Oil Seeps) are a series of natural asphalt lakes situated in the southern part of Santa Barbara County in southern California, US.The Carpinteria Tar Pits are a natural asphalt lake areas similar to Tierra de Brea Trinidad and Tobago, Lake Guanoco in Venezuela and the La Brea Tar Pits (Los Angeles) and McKittrick Tar Pits (McKittrick) both also located in the US state of California.

Carpinteria station is a passenger rail station in the city of Carpinteria, California, in Santa Barbara County. Opened on June 22, 1997, it is served by Amtrak's Pacific Surfliner from San Luis Obispo to San Diego. Ten Pacific Surfliner trains serve the station daily. The station consists of a concrete platform and an open-air shelter.Carpinteria station is served by ten Amtrak Pacific Surfliner trains (five in each direction) evenly spaced throughout the day.In Fiscal Year 2022, 15,883 passengers boarded or detrained at Carpinteria station.

Carpinteria (; Spanish: Carpintería, meaning "Carpentry") is a small seaside city in southeastern Santa Barbara County, California. Located on the Central Coast of California, it had a population of 13,264 at the 2020 census. Carpinteria is a popular surf destination; the city embraced the slogan "World's Safest Beach" in 1912, which it still uses today.

Carpinteria High School is a high school located in Carpinteria, California. Located adjacent to the foothills on the edge of the Carpinteria Valley, it is the only public high school in Carpinteria and serves a student body of approximately 600 students in grades 9-12.

Rincon (Spanish, "angle" or "corner") is a surf spot located at the Ventura and Santa Barbara County line in Southern California, United States. Also known as the "Queen of the Coast", Rincon is one of the most famous surf spots in California, known around the world for its well-formed waves and long rides. The book 100 Best Surf Spots in the World rates Rincon at 24. It is best at low tide during the winter months when swells are coming mostly from the west and northwest. There is a gated residential community that occupies most of the Rincon beachfront. Public access is provided at parking lots on both sides of the gated community, with restrooms and a picnic area in the upper parking lot, Rincon Beach Park.Rincon Point is home to the Rincon Classic surf championship scheduled for January each year. The championship draws local surf greats and spectators to the beach every year. Though scheduled for January, the event is often delayed until surf conditions merit a contest. Once these surf conditions are met the contest is held from Saturday through Sunday. There are multiple divisions ranging from the Legends (55+) to the gremlins (U12). There are nine divisions for the men, including the pro division, while there are 2 divisions for the women. The pro division mainly consists of local professional surfers including world surf league competitor Conner Coffin who competes in the contest almost every year. The contest is open to the public and local residents receive priority registration based on their county . During the contest local restaurants provide lunch for the competitors and also sell food to the public. These restaurants include Nutbelly and Rincon Brewery.

Rincon Point is a cape on the Santa Barbara Channel at the boundary between Santa Barbara County and Ventura County. This landmark is the site of the Rincon surf spot. A gated residential community occupies much of Rincon Point and straddles the countyline that roughly follows Rincon Creek down out of the Santa Ynez Mountains to the Pacific Ocean, just east of the extremity of Rincon Point.

Cate School is a highly selective, coeducational university-preparatory school for boarding and day students in grades 9-12 located in Carpinteria, California, eleven miles from Santa Barbara. In 2012, the school had 270 students, who came from 31 states and 18 foreign countries. In 2022, Niche ranked Cate School the best boarding school in California and the 13th-best in the United States.

Rincon Creek is a creek that marks the boundary between Santa Barbara and Ventura County, California. The Santa Barbara County - Ventura County Line follows Rincon Creek from near its source in the Santa Ynez Mountains near Divide Peak, at 34°28′36″N 119°26′29″W, down to its mouth on the Pacific Ocean, just east of the extremity of Rincon Point.Rincon Creek is also the boundary between the Central California Coastal water resource subregion and the Southern California Coastal water resource subregion, two of 222 subregions of the United States hydrologic unit system.

The Carpinteria Offshore Oil Field is an oil and gas field in Santa Barbara Channel, south of the city of Carpinteria in southern California in the United States. Discovered in 1964, and reaching peak production in 1969, it has produced over 106 million barrels of oil in its lifetime, and retains approximately 2 million barrels in reserve recoverable with present technology, according to the California State Department of Natural Resources. Currently the field is produced from three drilling platforms four to five miles (8 km) offshore, within Federal waters outside of the tidelands zone. Two of the platforms are operated by Pacific Operators Offshore LLC (PACOPS), the operating arm of Carpinteria-based Carone Petroleum; the other platform is operated by Dos Cuadras Offshore Resources (DCOR). The Carpinteria field is the 50th largest field in California by total original oil in place, as of the end of 2008.The Carpinteria field is one of the only fields offshore California to straddle the line between state and federal waters. The portion of the field in state waters was abandoned in 1996 with the dismantling of the two platforms operated by Chevron.

Toro Canyon (Toro, Spanish for "bull") is a census-designated place (CDP) in Santa Barbara County, California, United States. The population was 1,835 at the 2020 census, up from 1,508 at the 2010 census.
