George Izard

Henry Massie Rector (May 1, 1816 – August 12, 1899) was an American politician and lawyer who served as the sixth governor of Arkansas from 1860 to 1862.

James Fleming Fagan (March 1, 1828 – September 1, 1893) was an American farmer, politician, and senior officer of the Confederate States Army during the American Civil War. His brigade distinguished itself in the Camden Expedition of 1864, helping to drive the U.S. Army's Seventh Corps from southwest Arkansas.

Thomas Fletcher (April 8, 1817 – February 26, 1880) was an American politician and lawyer who served as acting governor of Arkansas from November 4 to 15, 1862, following the resignation of Henry M. Rector. He was president of the Arkansas Senate from 1858 to 1864, and in exile at Washington, Arkansas until 1865.

Elias Nelson Conway (May 17, 1812 – February 28, 1892) was an American politician and lawyer who served as the fifth governor of Arkansas from 1852 to 1860.

Samuel Adams (June 5, 1805 – February 27, 1850) was an American politician who served as acting governor of Arkansas from April to November 1844.

Thomas James Churchill (March 10, 1824 – May 14, 1905) was an American soldier and politician who served as the 13th governor of Arkansas from 1881 to 1883. Before that, he was a senior officer of the Confederate States Army who commanded infantry in the Western and Trans-Mississippi theaters of the American Civil War. Elected as part of the Redeemers coalition that restored former Confederates to office after Radical Republicans were overthrown across the South, Churchill's gubernatorial tenure was largely derailed by a financial scandal stemming from his tenure as treasurer.

William Savin Fulton (June 2, 1795 – August 15, 1844) was an American lawyer and politician who served as a United States Senator from Arkansas from 1836 until his death in 1844. He had previously served as the fourth governor of Arkansas Territory, from 1835 to 1836, and the second secretary of the Arkansas Territory from 1829 to 1835.

Simon Pollard Hughes, Jr. (April 14, 1830 – June 29, 1906) was an American lawyer, jurist, and politician who served as the 15th governor of Arkansas from 1885 to 1889. He previously served as an officer of the Confederate States Army in the Western and Trans-Mississippi theaters of the American Civil War.

Sandford C. Faulkner (March 3, 1803 – August 4, 1874), better known as Sandy Faulkner, was an American planter, raconteur and fiddler who personified the mid-19th century folk song "Arkansas Traveler," for which he received writing credit. It has since gone on to become the official state historic song of Arkansas.

The Mount Holly Mausoleum was designed by architects Thompson and Harding in 1917 and is located in Little Rock, Arkansas. Its architectural significance lies in its austerity of simple Greek Revival design. The structure was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. The mausoleum is located in the northwest corner of Little Rock's oldest and most picturesque cemetery, Mount Holly (which is also listed in the National Register of Historic Places).Constructed of limestone, the building is composed of a central entrance block flanked by two smaller wings. The entrance is framed by two fluted Doric columns which have been set back into the structure and are flush with the outside wall. A simple cornice with cavetto molding wraps the entire central block; the simple parapet rises slightly higher over the entrance. The entrance features two double doors with multi paned leaded glass cames (grooved strips that hold together the panes) embellished with a laurel wreath motif in stained glass. Additionally, stained glass windows with predominant tones of gold, green, and lavender appear flanking the door and in the transom as well as at the rear of the main block.

The Beyerlein House is a historic house at 412 W. 14th St. in Little Rock, Arkansas, USA. It is a 1½-story wood-frame structure, with a clipped-gable roof and a combination of weatherboard siding on the first floor, and half-timbered stucco in the gables. A porch projects from the right side of the front, with a low brick balcony and brick piers supporting squat posts, that support the gabled roof. The building's gables have exposed rafter tails in the Craftsman style. The house was built in 1917 to a design by Charles L. Thompson.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982 for its architecture. It is also included as a contributing building in a boundary increase of the Governor's Mansion Historic District, which is also listed on the National Register.

The U.M. Rose School is a historic school building at the corner of Izard and West 13th Streets, on the campus of Philander Smith College in Little Rock, Arkansas. A two-story U-shaped Colonial Revival brick building, it was built in 1915 to a design by Arkansas architect Charles L. Thompson, and was called "by far the best constructed" of any building in Little Rock.It served the city as a primary school for many years. It is now known as the James M. Cox Administration Building, and houses the college's administrative offices.The school is named after U. M. Rose, a prominent lawyer and judge. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.
