In Medieval times, this was one of Malmö's execution sites, and it was also used for witch burnings from 1543 to 1663. The site was later used as a burial ground for poor soldiers of Malmö garrison (1809–1870) and for prisoners from Malmö Castle (1827–1891).

It is situated in the borough of Norr.From 2014 to 2015, when Norra Sorgenfri was essentially an industrial area, the area was taken over by squatters, with people living in trailers, huts and tents. Its residents received a notification of expulsion from local authorities in November 2015.

The former hospital buildings now house a primary school along with several student apartment complexes and dormitories owned by the municipally-owned real estate company MKB and Rikshem.

Malmö has a mild climate for the latitude and, normally, average high temperatures remain above freezing in winter, with prolonged snow cover being rare. Malmö was Sweden's fastest growing city in 2020 and the population increased by 3,800 inhabitants during 2021. Malmö is expected to have a population of 500,000 around 2050.

St. Paul's Church (Swedish: S:t Pauli kyrka) is a church located in the Rörsjöstaden neighbourhood of Malmö, Sweden. The church was designed in an Italian medieval brickwork style by Emil Victor Langlet, construction began in 1880 and the church opened on November 26, 1882.The church last underwent an almost two-year long renovation before reopening in March 2017.
