Holy Family Church (Fairfield, Connecticut)

St. Emery is a Roman Catholic church in Fairfield, Connecticut, part of the Diocese of Bridgeport. The parish, which is dedicated to St. Emeric (Emery) of Hungary, was formed in 1932 to serve Fairfield's growing Hungarian population. In 1971, the parish of St. Stephen in Bridgeport was merged into the parish of St. Emery. St. Stephen's Church of Bridgeport, which was founded in 1897, was the second Hungarian Catholic church to be formed in the United States.The Romanesque Revival church building was designed by noted church architect Anthony J. DePace of New York.

Fairfield Metro station is a commuter rail station on the Metro-North Railroad New Haven Line, located in the town of Fairfield, Connecticut. It opened as an infill station on December 5, 2011. The station has two 12-car-long side platforms serving the outer tracks of the four-track Northeast Corridor.: 22  It is fully accessible.

Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport, Connecticut, was laid out in 1849 in the then popular rural cemetery design in a park-like, rural setting away from the center of the city. The cemetery was founded by showman P. T. Barnum, who himself is buried there. "The original grounds were surveyed and designed by Horatio Stone and Mr. [John] Moody," the cemetery's first superintendent.

The Cassidy House is a historic house at 691 Ellsworth Street in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Built in 1849, it is a well-preserved example of early Italianate residential architecture, and the only documented building in the city from that period which retains its original board and batten siding. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2011.

WDJZ (1530 AM) was a radio station broadcasting a World Ethnic format. Licensed to Bridgeport, Connecticut, United States, it served the Bridgeport area. The station was owned by People's Broadcast Network. WDJZ went on the air April 30, 1977. The station was initially owned by road paving and construction executive Frank "Hi-Ho" Daddario and referred to itself on the air as "The Hi-Ho Spot On Your Dial." Daddario also owned the Hotel Hi-Ho. When he purchased a mall in downtown Bridgeport, he renamed it the "Hi Ho Center." His brother, Emilio Q. Daddario represented Connecticut in Congress and lost the Connecticut gubernatorial election of 1970. Daddario died in a plane crash in 1986. WDJZ was the first affiliate of the MOR Music Of Your Life format in the late 1970s. In late January 2008, John Labarca began to broadcast his Italian program on Sunday mornings. Labarca used to host the weekday morning drive show and the "Italian House Party" on competitor WICC. WDJZ went silent on February 1, 2016, after losing its transmitter site; by August, People's Broadcast Network had put the station up for sale. The station's license was canceled on February 2, 2017. Many of programs previously heard on WDJZ would return to the air in June 2016 on WNLK.

Fairfield Warde High School is a co-educational secondary school located in Fairfield, Connecticut, United States. The Fairfield Warde Mustangs play in the FCIAC division of the CIAC.

The 2021 U.S. Senior Women's Open was the third U.S. Senior Women's Open. It was a professional golf tournament organized by the United States Golf Association, open to women over 50 years of age. The championship was played at the Brooklawn Country Club, Fairfield, Connecticut, United States, from July 29 to August 1 and won by Annika Sörenstam. The 2020 championship was canceled due to health concerns stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic.

The U.S. Senior Women's Open is one of fourteen U.S. national golf championships organized by the United States Golf Association. The newest USGA championship, it is open to women whose 50th birthday falls on or before the first day of competition and hold a handicap index not exceeding 7.4. It is part of the Legends of the LPGA Tour. The inaugural championship was held in 2018 at the Chicago Golf Club in Wheaton, Illinois. The U.S. Senior Women's Open and the Senior LPGA Championship are considered to constitute the senior women's major golf championships. The eligibility for the Senior LPGA Championship and the Legends of the LPGA Tour are for female golfers age 45 and older, why not all Senior LPGA Championship players are eligible for the U.S. Senior Women's Open. The field for the tournament is 120 players, and is filled with professionals and amateurs with exemptions and sectional qualifying status. The tournament is 72 holes of stroke play, with the top 50 and ties making the 36-hole cut.

Brooklawn Country Club is a private country club in Fairfield, Connecticut. Founded in 1895, Brooklawn became one of the earliest members of the United States Golf Association (USGA) when it was admitted on January 22, 1896. Sited on the property's highest point, the club's 57,667-square-foot clubhouse was opened in 1916. Brooklawn's championship golf course traces to a nine-hole layout, designed by members shortly after the club's founding. In 1899, the first professional hired by the club was Tom Morris, the great nephew of Old Tom Morris, and the grandson of Old Tom's brother George, who laid out the links at Hoylake (now Royal Liverpool) in 1869. In 1911, the acquisition of additional property enabled the course to expand to 18 holes. In 1930, the course was completely redesigned by the noted architect A.W. Tillinghast, and it continues to undergo improvements under the direction of architect Ron Forse. Brooklawn has hosted five USGA championships: 1974 U.S. Junior Amateur (won by David Nevatt) 1979 U.S. Women's Open (won by Jerilyn Britz) 1987 U.S. Senior Open (won by Gary Player) 2003 U.S. Girls' Junior (won by Sukjin-Lee Wuesthoff) 2021 U.S. Senior Women's Open (won by Annika Sörenstam)The course was scheduled to host the 2020 U.S. Senior Women's Open, but it was canceled because of the pandemic, but was held in 2021. Several widely recognized golfers have been associated with the club. One of the early champions in women's golf, member Georgianna Bishop, won the 1904 U.S. Women's Amateur at Merion Golf Club in Ardmore, Pennsylvania. Gene Sarazen, one of only five golfers to have won all the current major championships and inventor of the sand wedge, was assistant golf professional before emerging on the national stage. He still holds the course record (63). In 1943, Sarazen presented a collection of his championship medals, including major tournaments and the Ryder Cup, to the club, which subsequently donated them to the USGA Museum in Far Hills, New Jersey. Julius Boros, a Fairfield native, is an honorary member of the club and played frequently at Brooklawn, stunning the gallery with a hole-in-one at the second hole during an exhibition match in 1961. President William Howard Taft was also an honorary member. Brooklawn's golf course measures 6,711 yards, is rated at 73.3 and plays to a slope of 138. In addition to the golf course, club facilities include a practice tee and putting green; a tennis center with seven Har-Tru courts and clubhouse; three platform tennis courts and warming hut; and a swimming pool with casual dining facilities. The clubhouse includes a bowling center with eight lanes; men's and women's locker rooms; golf pro shop; dining room; grill room; living room; ball room; private dining and meeting spaces; and a wrap-around porch overlooking the course for outdoor dining and social events.

Black Rock is a neighborhood in the southwestern section of the city of Bridgeport, Connecticut. It borders Fairfield and the Ash Creek tidal estuary on the west, the West Side/West End of Bridgeport on the north and east, and Black Rock Harbor and Long Island Sound on the south. Black Rock comprises census tracts 701 and 702 and part of census tract 703. It includes two historic districts listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Residences comprise 86% of properties in Black Rock, 10% are commercial, and 4% are industrial or other property classes.

The 1979 U.S. Women's Open was the 34th U.S. Women's Open, held July 12–15 at Brooklawn Country Club in Fairfield, Connecticut. Jerilyn Britz won her first LPGA Tour event (and only major), two shots ahead of runners-up Debbie Massey and Sandra Palmer. Co-leading after the first round and leading after the second, Britz shot a four-over-par 75 in the third round on Saturday. She entered the final round three strokes behind Massey and shot a two-under 69 for an even-par 284 total.

The Division Street Historic District encompasses one of the best-preserved 19th-century residential areas of Bridgeport, Connecticut. Now separated from downtown Bridgeport by the Connecticut Route 25 highway, the area includes a cross-section of 19th-century architectural styles, as well as a diversity of sophistication, from working-class accommodations to high-style Victorian mansions. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.
