North Somercotes

South Somercotes is a village and civil parish 8 miles (13 km) north-east from Louth and approximately 2 miles (3.2 km) south from North Somercotes, Lincolnshire, England. The civil parish includes the hamlet of Scupholme. The former Anglican church is dedicated to St Peter and is often called the "Queen of the Marsh" due to its lofty spire serving as a landmark for seaman.The ecclesiastical parish is shared with North Somercotes and is part of the Somercotes and Grainthorpe with Conisholme group of the Deanery of Louthesk, Diocese of Lincoln. The incumbent (2013) is the Revd Sue Allison.

St Botolph's Church is a redundant Anglican church near the village of Skidbrooke, Lincolnshire, England. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade I listed building, and is under the care of the Churches Conservation Trust. It stands in an isolated position in the Lincolnshire marshlands, about 7 miles (11 km) northeast of Louth, and to the west of the A1031 road.

Grainthorpe is a small village and civil parish in the East Lindsey district of Lincolnshire, England. It is situated 7 miles (11 km) north-east from the town of Louth, and approximately 3 miles (5 km) from the Lincolnshire coast. The civil parish includes the hamlets of Wragholme to the north-west, and Ludney to the south-east. The population of Conisholme is included in the 2011 census. Grainthorpe is listed in the 1086 Domesday Book as "Germundtorp", with 28 households. The deserted medieval village of Swinehope was believed to be cited here, abandoned when its harbour silted up. There was a medieval saltern at the hamlet of Wragholme.The parish church is a Grade I listed building dedicated to St Clement and dating from 1200, with later alterations, additions, and restorations. It has a 15th-century font. The churchyard contains war graves of a soldier and a Royal Flying Corps airman of the First World War.Grainthorpe Hall is an early 18th-century red-brick house, which is Grade II listed.Grainthorpe has its own primary school, village hall and post office, although the post office is currently open only two days a week in the Church Hall. The Coach house adjacent to the old Mill has been restored, and has re-opened as a village shop and tea room. There is also now a village shop Gilimans, selling supplies and pet food. Prior to this, the village's nearest shops were in the nearby villages of Marshchapel, North Somercotes, and Alvingham. Also sited in the village are playing fields which consist of a tennis court, football pitch and cricket pitch.

Skidbrooke, also called Skidbrooke cum Saltfleet, is a hamlet in the East Lindsey district of Lincolnshire, England. It is situated 10 miles (16 km) north from the town of Alford and 7 miles (11 km) east from Louth. With the hamlet of Saltfleet Haven it forms the civil parish of Skidbrooke with Saltfleet Haven. Skidbrooke is mentioned in the 1086 Domesday Book as "Schitebroc", and recorded as being in the hundred of Louth-Eske in the South Riding of Lindsey, and as having 33 households, 3 villagers, 24 freemen and a meadow of 60 acres (0 km2). In 1066 Queen Edith was Lord of the Manor, which in 1086 was transferred to William I. The parish church is dedicated to Saint Botolph. Now closed, it is cared for by the Churches Conservation Trust. There is a Grade II listed limestone pump in the village, which is a memorial to Frederick Allen Freshney of South Somercotes, who died in May 1906 from wounds received in the Boer War.The New Inn is a Grade II listed red-brick public house dating from the 17th century, with 18th- and 19th-century additions.The Manor House, which dates from about 1673 with 19th-century additions, is a Grade II listed red-brick house.Skidbrooke Grade II listed tower windmill dates from about 1770. It originally had three pairs of stones. In the late 1890s it was rebuilt gaining extra storeys, a new cap and fantail and four patent sails. It continued to work until about 1951.

Saltfleet is a coastal village in the East Lindsey district of Lincolnshire, England. It is approximately 8 miles (13 km) north of Mablethorpe and 11 miles (18 km) east of Louth. The village is part of the civil parish of Skidbrooke with Saltfleet Haven, which had a population of 523 at the 2001 Census, increasing to 543 at the 2011 Census.Saltfleet has a village store with adjoining cafe, a petrol station, a seasonal fish and chip shop and numerous caravan sites (Sunnydale, Beach, Tuxworth, Kindswood, Sandyfields and New Inn). The beaches at Saltfleet attract visitors for days out and holidays, some of whom gather samphire on the coast close to the village.

St Peter's Church was an Anglican parish church in the village of Saltfleetby, Lincolnshire, England (grid reference TF436899). Due to subsidence, the main part of the church was moved elsewhere in the village and the tower was left at this location. The tower is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade I listed building, and it is now under the care of the Friends of Friendless Churches.The tower is known locally as The Stump.

Louth Town F.C. is an English football club based in Louth, Lincolnshire. They currently play in the Northern Counties East League Division One, whilst their reserve and academy teams play in the East Lincs Combination League.

Saltfleetby railway station was a station in Saltfleetby, Lincolnshire on the line between Louth and Mablethorpe which was closed in 1960.The station was opened on 17 October 1877 when the Louth and East Coast Railway opened the line between Louth and Mablethorpe. This line was connected to the Sutton and Willoughby Railway in 1888 to form the Mablethorpe loop.The station closed on 5 December 1960 when the line between Louth and Mablethorpe was closed.

Louth United F.C. was a football club from Louth, Lincolnshire. They became defunct in 2007 after running into severe financial difficulties. Louth Town F.C. took over the running of all junior sides and no senior teams exist in the name of Louth United. Founded in 1947, from a merger of Louth Nats and Louth Town, they had been members of the Northern Counties East League and the Central Midlands League Premier Division, but in 2007 dropped down to the Lincolnshire League. Louth United were based at their new home, Marshlands, which was developed and opened in 2008. This facility is now the home of Louth Town F.C..
