The Yaoundé Gynaecology, Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital (French Hôpital gynéco-obstétrique et pédiatrique de Yaoundé - HGOPY) is a hospital in Yaoundé, Cameroon that specializes in caring for women and children. The hospital was built with the assistance of the Government of China. It was officially opened on 28 March 2002 by President Paul Biya in a ceremony attended by the Chinese Vice-Minister of Health. Outpatient care began on 1 April 2002.

The Yaoundé General Hospital (Hôpital Général de Yaoundé - HGY) is a hospital in Yaoundé, Cameroon, established in 1985. It is a teaching center and reference hospital for others in the region.The hospital was designed by the C. Cacoub and Buban Ngu Design Group and built by SBBM & Six Construct. It covers an area of 20,301 square metres and as of 2001 had 302 beds. The hospital provides medicine, surgery, obstetrics, gynaecology and pediatrics. It is the only hospital in the Central Region with a dialysis center. In July 2011, some patients were turned away due to shortage of dialysis units.

The Supreme Court (French Cour Suprême) is the highest judicial body in Cameroon. As defined in Article V of the Constitution of Cameroon, the Supreme Court is above the courts of appeal and the tribunals. It is nominally independent of the executive and legislative branches of government, subject only to the oversight of the Higher Judicial Council. The Supreme Court is an appellate court made up of three parts: the judicial, administrative, and audit benches. The judicial bench rules on standard cases appealed from the lower courts. the administrative bench handles cases involving the state, such as election disputes and appellate cases involving the government. This branch can hear such cases on the first instance. The audit bench takes cases relating to public accounts of public and semi-private entities. The Supreme Court may only rule on the constitutionality of law at the behest of the president of Cameroon. The body typically decides appeals only on point of law.The Supreme Court was founded in 1961 to replace the Federal Court of Justice.

Lycée Français Fustel de Coulanges is a French international school in Yaoundé, Cameroon. It serves levels maternelle (preschool) through lycée (senior high school/sixth form).The École française Fustel de Coulanges first opened along route de l'aéroport in 1967. The senior high school classes were established in 1972 through 1974. The primary school opened in 1975.

The Our Lady of Victories Cathedral (French: Cathédrale Notre-Dame-des-Victoires de Yaoundé) is a religious building belonging to the Catholic Church and serves as the cathedral of the metropolitan archdiocese of Yaoundé (Archidioecesis Yaundensis or L'archidiocèse métropolitain de Yaoundé) in Cameroon. It is located in the center of the city in the rotunda of the central post office. It has a stunning architecture, and a large number of seats, with space for around 5,000 worshippers, and an interior cross-shaped. After more than 50 years of existence, the construction of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Victories in Yaounde is not over yet. This is one of the most significant places in the capital, and was consecrated in 1955.

The First Battle of Jaunde involved the attempted British and French assault on the German capital of Jaunde during the Kamerun campaign of the First World War. Due to a lack of coordination, difficult terrain, adverse weather conditions, and stiff German resistance, the attack was forced to retreat in late June 1915. Another assault on the capital would not be conducted until later that year.

The Second Battle of Jaunde involved the successful British and French assault on the German capital of Jaunde during the Kamerun campaign of the First World War. After the failure of the First Battle of Jaunde during the summer of 1915, the bulk of Allied forces had retreated to the Kele river. Following the Second Duala Conference where Allied commanders discussed the situation, it was decided that another assault should be attempted. Although the columns surrounding Jaunde were not in effective communication with one another, on 1 January 1916, British forces under Colonel Georges occupied the capital. By this time it had been abandoned by the German troops who had fled to the neutral Spanish colony of Río Muni. This Allied victory signaled the end of German resistance in Kamerun apart from the Siege of Mora which would continue for another few months.

Yaoundé (UK: ; US: , French pronunciation: [ja.unde]) is the capital of Cameroon and, with a population of more than 2.8 million, the second-largest city in the country after the port city Douala. It lies in the Centre Region of the nation at an elevation of about 750 metres (2,500 ft) above sea level. The outpost of Epsumb or Jeundo was founded between the Nyong and Sanaga rivers at the northern edge of the area's forests in 1887 by German explorers as a trading base for rubber and ivory. A military garrison was built in 1895 which enabled further colonization. After Imperial Germany's defeat in World War I, France held eastern Cameroon as a mandate, and Yaoundé was chosen to become the capital of the colony in 1922.Douala remained the more important settlement, but Yaoundé saw rapid growth and continued as the seat of government for the Republic of Cameroon upon its independence in 1960. Most of Yaoundé's economy is still centred on the administrative structure but major industries in Yaoundé include tobacco, dairy products, beer, clay, glass goods and timber. The city has many striking monuments and buildings, such as the Presidential Palace and Palais des Congrès.

The Kamerun campaign took place in the German colony of Kamerun in the African theatre of the First World War when the British, French and Belgians invaded the German colony from August 1914 to March 1916. Most of the campaign took place in Kamerun but skirmishes also broke out in British Nigeria. By the Spring of 1916, following Allied victories, the majority of German troops and the civil administration fled to the neighbouring neutral colony of Spanish Guinea (Río Muni). The campaign ended in a defeat for Germany and the partition of its former colony between France and Britain.

The Yaoundé Multipurpose Sports Complex (French: Palais polyvalent des sports de Yaoundé) is an indoor sporting arena located in Yaoundé, Cameroon. The capacity of the Palais des sports de Warda is 5,263 people. It is used to host indoor sports such as basketball. It was built by the People's Republic of China and was inaugurated on June 19, 2009.
