Old Croton Dam

Turkey Mountain is a hill (despite its name) located in Yorktown Heights, New York. The hill is located on a land reserve and is currently maintained by the Yorktown Land Trust. It is approximately of 125 acres (0.51 km2) of land.

Greasestock was an American event held yearly in Yorktown Heights, New York. Exhibitors showcase a variety of alternative energy vehicles, as well as exhibits with a sustainable lifestyle theme. Although it is illegal in New York to power a vehicle with waste vegetable oil, authorities in New York have stated they had no problem with the festival and even participated in it.The event was founded in 2003 by individuals who shared an interest in vegetable powered vehicles. It is held on the grounds of Peter Pratt's Inn, a historic landmark. According to Jon Pratt, founder of the event, while the original event hosted only eight people interested in discussing alternatives to gas, each successive incarnation of the Greasestock celebration has drawn more and more visitors from all over the United States who are interested in cheaper gas, cleaner energy, and helping the environment.The green technologies demonstrated at the event include vegetable oil powered cars, biodiesel cars, solar powered cars, home heating alternatives, and organic farming exhibits. The event draws exhibitors from all over the United States, and included among the hundred or so vehicles on display is a vegetable powered garbage truck from Mamaroneck, New York, the first of its kind in New York.

The Thomas J. Watson Research Center is the headquarters for IBM Research. The center comprises three sites, with its main laboratory in Yorktown Heights, New York, U.S., 38 miles (61 km) north of New York City, Albany, New York and with offices in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Donald J. Trump State Park is a 436-acre (1.8 km2) state park in the towns of Yorktown and Putnam Valley in Westchester and Putnam counties, New York. The park consists of property that was donated to New York State in 2006 by developer and future President of the United States Donald Trump. Maintenance of the park was halted in 2010 due to budget constraints, and the park remains largely undeveloped. Most of the buildings have been demolished; only a few foundations and the existing tennis court remain. There have been several calls to rename the park.

Teatown Lake Reservation is a nonprofit nature preserve and environmental education center in Westchester County, New York, U.S., located in the towns of Ossining, Yorktown, Cortlandt, and New Castle. The reservation includes an 1,000-acre (4.0 km2) nature preserve and education center, visited annually by around 25,000 people. Known by locals simply as "Teatown", the organization works to conserve biodiversity, teach ecology and promote nature-friendly living. Located in the Lower Hudson Valley's Hudson Highlands, Teatown Lake Reservation conserves open space, educates about the environment, sustaining the diversity of wildlife and plants.

The New Croton Reservoir is a reservoir in Westchester County, New York, part of the New York City water supply system lying approximately 22 miles (35 km) north of New York City. It is the collecting point for water from all reservoirs in the Croton Watershed.

Millwood is a hamlet and census-designated place located in the town of New Castle, New York, United States in Westchester County. It was originally settled as Sarlesville. The area now known as Millwood appears on 19th century maps as Merritt's Corners (now the intersection of NY 100 and NY 120) and Rockdale Mills (close to what is now the Briarcliff Manor border). As of the 2000 census, the community had a population of 1,210. Miss America 1984, actress and singer Vanessa Williams grew up in Millwood, but lives in New Castle's other hamlet of Chappaqua.Sarles' Tavern, also known as Granite House, was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

Sarles' Tavern, also known as Granite House, was a historic inn and tavern building located at Millwood, Westchester County, New York. It was built between 1814 and 1817 and was constructed of locally quarried granite. It was a two-story, rectangular building with a low pitched gable roof in a restrained Greek Revival style. The property was sold in 1817 by David Crasto to William Sarles, who renamed the property Sarles Tavern. Sarles operated the property as a stagecoach stop for the route from White Plains to Somers until his death in 1853. After Sarles' death the building was run as a tavern by his sons until it was sold to the Merritt family, which ran it as an inn until the early 1900s. The property's name was then changed to Merritt's Corners.The building was demolished in 1993 after the interior was consumed by fire; The building was unusable.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

The Isaac Young House is an historic wood frame house on Pinesbridge Road in New Castle, New York, United States. It was built about 1872 in the Second Empire style. Its owner, Isaac Young, was a descendant of early settlers in the area. He chose the Second Empire style, more commonly found in cities and villages than on farms, possibly as a way of demonstrating his affluence. The present structure appears to incorporate parts of a vernacular late 18th-century farmhouse, leaving several anomalies in the current house as a result. The house's position atop a low hill would have, in its time, given it a commanding view of the region, including the Hudson River and New York City's skyline. The Isaac Young House is the only Second Empire house from that era in New Castle. There have been several renovations and alterations, including the removal of its original Italianate central tower. The current owners restored it extensively after purchasing it from the Youngs. In 2004 the house and its barn were listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Yorktown Heights station is a former railroad station on the Putnam Line in Yorktown Heights, New York, United States. It is a wooden building located on Commerce Street at the intersection of Underhill Avenue in Railroad Park. The station was originally built in 1877 by the New York, Westchester and Putnam Railway along a line originally installed by the New York and Boston Railroad that is today a rail trail. It is one of the only three left in Westchester County, and one of only two in that scale and style. In 1981, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places as Yorktown Heights Railroad Station, the only property listed in the town.

Millwood was a railroad station on the New York and Putnam Railroad in the hamlet of Millwood in New Castle, New York. It was located on Station Road just south of the southeast corner of the west end of the NY 120/133 overlap. Originally built by the New York and Putnam Railroad in 1881, this later became the Putnam Division of the New York Central Railroad. The original station house was built in 1888 but burnt to the ground soon after. The station was replaced in 1910 when the old Briarcliff Manor station was moved by flat car to the current location. The Putnam Line ended passenger service in 1958; the line was abandoned and now serves as the North County Trailway rail trail. After the line's passenger use ended, the station variously served as a real estate office and fruit and vegetable market.The station, which had fallen into a state of disrepair, was demolished on May 9, 2012 after it was determined that it would be too costly to repair. According to demolition workers, several support beams on the inside of the building had fallen down, and several others had nearly been eaten through by insects. The station was identical to the Ardsley, Yorktown Heights, Baldwin Place, and two other stations on the line.
