Green Worker Cooperatives (GWC) is a non-profit organization that incubates environmentally sustainable worker cooperatives in the South Bronx of New York City. The organization, founded in 2003 by Omar Freilla, seeks to create green-collar jobs and promotes environmental justice through the creation of cooperatives. GWC is a member of the United States Federation of Worker Cooperatives. In 2008, Green Worker Cooperatives started ReBuilders Source, a worker cooperative that reuses discarded building materials. Founder Freilla received the Rockefeller Foundation’s Jane Jacobs Medal and $100,000 which he used to finance the organization. Rebuilders Source also received a $70,000 grant from Citgo.

Central Maternity Hospital was a Bronx hospital which opened 1938 and closed 1958. It was operated by Dr. Morris Leff, who initially called his facility Dr. Morris Leff Maternity Hospital.

The Burnside Avenue station is an express station on the IRT Jerome Avenue Line of the New York City Subway. Located at the intersection of Burnside and Jerome Avenues in the Bronx, it is served by the 4 train at all times. Burton Arms Apartments was an edifice completed in December 1922, located at 2115 Walton Avenue and 181st Street (Manhattan) in the Bronx. The building was one block from Lexington Avenue (Manhattan)-Jerome Avenue. Advertised as the most beautiful apartment house in New York City, it could be reached via the 6th Avenue (Manhattan) - 9th Avenue (Manhattan) subway or the L at Burnside Avenue. 3,4, or 5 room rentals were available. Burton Arms Apartments is important as an early 1920s structure which provided comfortable living quarters as well as accommodations for businesses. On a plot 75 X 100 feet, it was purchased by Maurice Forman from Survell Realty Company in March 1923. At this time, it was completely rented, including its eight stores. The structure sold for $210,000, purchased from the Armstrong Brothers.In 1926, Burton Arms Apartments brought an annual rental of $29,000. The edifice was sold to Joseph Wikler by the Harstein Brothers in October 1926.

Tremont Baptist Church is a historic Baptist church in the Bronx, New York City. The church was built in two phases between 1904 and 1912. It is a one-story building above a raised basement in the Late Gothic Revival style. It is 50 feet tall with a 75 foot tall offset corner tower. It is faced in gray marble, and features buttressed bays, pointed arch door and window openings, a high-pitched gable roof, and stained glass windows.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2009.
