The Longwood Avenue station is a local station on the IRT Pelham Line of the New York City Subway. It is served by the 6 train at all times and is located at Longwood Avenue and Southern Boulevard in the Longwood neighborhood of the Bronx.

The Hunts Point Avenue station is an express station on the IRT Pelham Line of the New York City Subway, served by the 6 train at all times and the <6> train on weekdays in the peak direction. It is located at Hunts Point Avenue and Southern Boulevard in the Longwood neighborhood in the Bronx. This station opened in 1919 as part of the Interborough Rapid Transit Company (IRT)'s Pelham Line. The line was constructed as part of an agreement between New York City and two private transit operators to expand transit service across the city known as the Dual Contracts. The station exclusively served local trains until 1946, when rush-hour express service began. The Hunts Point Avenue station was renovated to become compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 in 2014.

Located at the intersection of Intervale and Westchester Avenues in Longwood, Bronx, it is served by the 2 train at all times, and the 5 train at all times except late nights and rush hours in the peak direction.

The American Bank Note Company Printing Plant is a repurposed printing plant in the Hunts Point neighborhood of the Bronx in New York City. It was built in 1909 by the American Bank Note Company, contemporaneously with their corporate headquarters in Manhattan.: 1  In addition to printing paper documents, stamps, and currency, the plant also minted coins, and was thus known by local area residents as The Penny Factory.The main structure includes three interconnected buildings. The Lafayette wing, spanning the south side of the block, is the longest and tallest. It incorporates the main entrance, at the base of an imposing tower. The lower, but more massive, Garrison wing is perpendicular to that. These two were built first, and constitute the bulk of the complex. The Barretto wing is an addition on the west side of the Garrison wing. The small detached North Building is at the rear of the property.The buildings total 405,000 square feet (37,600 m2), occupying the 178,000 square foot (16,500 m2) block bordered by Garrison Avenue, Tiffany Street, Lafayette Avenue, and Barretto Street. The block is roughly pentagonal, with Barretto curving to form two sides.The plant was used by American Bank Note from 1911 until 1986. Production included bank notes, stamps, stock and bond certificates, checks, traveler's checks, letters of credit, lottery tickets, food stamps, and other financial documents. Although the plant printed money for countries around the world, it was best known for producing currencies for Latin America, including Mexico, Brazil, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Haiti, and Cuba.Since 1986, the property has changed hands several times, undergone a series of renovations, and been designated a New York City landmark. As of April 2020, it has been subdivided and rented to multiple tenants.

Corpus Christi Monastery, founded in 1891, is the oldest monastery in the United States of nuns of the Dominican Order. It is an offshoot of Notre-Dame-de-Prouille Monastery, the first monastery of nuns founded by Dominic de Guzman, founder and namesake of the Order, in France in 1206. Dominic saw these first women as partners in the "Holy Preaching" of the friars he soon founded, offering them support by their prayers and sacrifices.

Longwood is a mixed-use neighborhood geographically located in the southwest Bronx, New York City. Its boundaries, starting from the north and moving clockwise are East 167th Street to the north, the Bronx River and the Bruckner Expressway to east, East 149th Street to the south, and Prospect Avenue to the west. Southern Boulevard is the primary thoroughfare through Longwood. The neighborhood is part of Bronx Community District 2, and its ZIP Codes include 10455 and 10459. The neighborhood is served by the New York City Police Department's 41st Precinct. NYCHA property in the area is patrolled by P.S.A. 7 at 737 Melrose Avenue in the Melrose section of the Bronx. The local subway, the 6 and <6>​ trains, operates along Southern Boulevard.

Hunts Point Hospital was a 100-bed Bronx hospital that closed, and was sold in 1945; the building was subsequently abandoned.They had served the local community for general medical/surgical and maternity needs.

Hunts Point station is a planned passenger rail station on the New Haven Line of the Metro-North Railroad New Haven Line, to be located in Hunts Point, Bronx. The station is planned to open in 2027 as part of the Penn Station Access project, which will add four stations in The Bronx. The station will be located north of Hunts Point Avenue, behind the former New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad station, which was designed by Cass Gilbert.A 63-month design-build contract for the project was issued in December 2021.

Prospect Hospital was a 175-bed seven-story private hospital located in The Bronx that opened at 730 Kelly Street in 1963, closed in 1985, and is now a homeless shelter.

The Longwood Historic District is a recognized historic district located in the center of the Longwood neighborhood in the South Bronx, New York. It encompasses about three square blocks roughly bounded by Beck Street, Longwood, Leggett, and Prospect Avenues. The district consists of semi-detached rowhouses, most of which have been converted into S.R.O.'s (Single Room Occupancy). The district includes 61 contributing buildings. It is primarily residential, but also includes the site of the former Prospect Hospital, two churches (United Church and St. Margaret's Episcopal Church), and a much altered estate house (Patrolman P. Lynch Community Center). Most of the semi-detached rowhouses were designed at the same time by one architect, Warren C. Dickerson. The New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission made it a historic district in 1980 and extended it in 1983. On September 26, 1983, the district was added to the National Register of Historic Places.
