Williamstown is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) located in Monroe Township in Gloucester County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the 2010 U.S. census, Williamstown's population was 15,567.

As of the 2019–20 school year, the district, comprised of six schools, had an enrollment of 5,736 students and 449.2 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 12.8:1.The district is classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group "CD", the sixth-highest of eight groupings. District Factor Groups organize districts statewide to allow comparison by common socioeconomic characteristics of the local districts. From lowest socioeconomic status to highest, the categories are A, B, CD, DE, FG, GH, I and J.

Hall Street School is located in Monroe Township, Gloucester County, New Jersey, United States. The school was built in 1878 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places on September 27, 2006. It was moved from its original location to South Main Street.

Monroe Township is a township in Gloucester County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the 2020 United States census, the township's population was 37,117, its highest decennial count ever and an increase of 988 (+2.7%) from the 36,129 recorded at the 2010 census, which in turn had reflected an increase of 7,162 (+24.7%) from the 28,967 counted at the 2000 census. The township is part of the South Jersey region of the state and a suburb of Philadelphia, within the Delaware Valley. Monroe Township was originally formed as a township by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on March 3, 1859, from portions of Washington Township while the area was still part of Camden County. Monroe Township was shifted to Gloucester County on February 28, 1871, along with the majority of Washington Township. In 1950, portions of the township were transferred to Winslow Township in Camden County. The township was named for President James Monroe.

Waretown was an unincorporated community of Gloucester Township in Gloucester County, New Jersey that existed between c. 1794–1874. Historically, it was located about 3.3 miles northeast of the center of Williamstown and about 8/10ths of a mile from the current site of Sicklerville. The town is unrelated to the Waretown that exists today in Ocean County, New Jersey.

Williamstown High School is a four-year comprehensive community public high school located in the Williamstown section of Monroe Township in Gloucester County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey, serving students in ninth through twelfth grades as the lone secondary school of the Monroe Township Public Schools. The school was established in 1958.As of the 2021–22 school year, the school had an enrollment of 1,810 students and 131.0 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 13.8:1. There were 409 students (22.6% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 107 (5.9% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.

Winslow Township is a township in Camden County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the 2020 United States census, the township's population was 39,907, an increase of 408 (+1.0%) from the 2010 census count of 39,499, which in turn reflected an increase of 4,888 (+14.1%) from the 34,611 counted in the 2000 census.Winslow Township was incorporated as a township by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on March 8, 1845, from portions of Gloucester Township. Portions of the township were taken on November 26, 1867, to create Chesilhurst. In 1950, the township annexed a portion of Monroe Township in Gloucester County. The township, and all of Camden County, is part of South Jersey and of the Philadelphia-Wilmington-Camden, PA-NJ-DE-MD combined statistical area, also known as the Delaware Valley or Philadelphia metropolitan area.

The 1922 Winslow Junction train derailment was a July 2, 1922 accident on Atlantic City Railroad's Camden to Atlantic City route. Train № 33 the Owl going 90 miles (140 km) per hour sped through an open switch at Winslow Junction. 7 were killed, 89 were injured.
