Ottobine is a small unincorporated community located on State Route 257 near Harrisonburg, in Rockingham County, Virginia, United States. It consists of spread out communities, a convenience gas/grocery store, and many farms. This area is partly inhabited by Mennonites and contains many churches.

Paul's Ottobine Mill is a historic former mill building at 8061 Judge Paul Road in rural Rockingham County, Virginia, west of Dayton. It is a two-story gambrel-roofed frame building, constructed in 1937-38 on the foundation of an older mill. The site has an industrial history dating to 1799, and portions of the older water control channels are still evident. The building, now converted to residential use, retains a suite of historic mill equipment in its interior. The mill was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2017.

Paul State Forest is a Virginia state forest located in Rockingham County near the town of Ottobine. Its 173 acres (0.70 km2) are used for a variety of purposes including research. It had previously been part of the family farm of John Paul, Jr., a United States federal judge in Western Virginia, who donated it to the state in 1961.

Lilly is an unincorporated community located in Rockingham County, in the U.S. state of Virginia. It is located west of Harrisonburg, Virginia along Route 613, northeast of Clover Hill, near the edge of the George Washington National Forest.

Natural Chimneys, known as the Cyclopean Towers in the 19th century, is a natural rock structure located near Mt. Solon in Augusta County, Virginia in the United States, in the Shenandoah Valley. The formation is a central feature of a regional park owned and operated by Augusta County. The formation includes seven rock "chimneys" that range in height from 65 to 120 feet (20 to 37 m) above ground level. The chimneys are formed from limestone that began to accumulate and harden into stone about 500 million years ago in the Paleozoic Era, when the region was underwater. Over time, enormous upward pressures of magma and widespread geologic upheaval, which created the Appalachian Mountains, combined with erosive forces of water and destroyed weaker layers of stone. Eventually, this created the rock chimneys which can be seen today.The park, located along the North River, has a 145-site campground with a pool, playground, and hiking trails. The park also hosts one of the largest jousting tournaments in the eastern United States. The tournament is held on the third Saturday of August, and has taken place annually since 1821. The tournament includes the historical sport of "running at the ring". Augusta County owns the property and maintains the facility.

Mount Solon is an unincorporated community in Augusta County, Virginia, United States, 22 miles (35 km) southwest of Harrisonburg and 20 miles (32 km) north of Staunton. It is part of the Staunton–Waynesboro Micropolitan Statistical Area.

Hannah Miller House, also known as the William Joseph House, is a historic home located near Mossy Creek, Augusta County, Virginia. It was built about 1814, and is a two-story, banked stone "Continental bank" house style dwelling. It sits on a full, but not fully excavated, basement and has an exterior stone chimney. As of 1978, the interior of the house was absolutely plain and little-altered, with a single room on each floor. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.

Mossy Creek is an unincorporated community in Augusta County, Virginia, United States. Mossy Creek is located on Virginia State Route 42, 3.3 miles (5.3 km) west-southwest of Bridgewater. The Hannah Miller House and the Henry Miller House, which are listed on the National Register of Historic Places, are both located near Mossy Creek.

Henry Miller House is a historic home located near Mossy Creek, Augusta County, Virginia. The original section was built about 1785, and expanded in the mid-19th century. It is a two-story, stone and brick dwelling with a combined gable and hipped roof. It consists of a square, four-bay, double-pile section with a three-bay, single-pile attached wing to form unbroken seven-bay facade. It features a full-width, one-story porch. Also on the property are a contributing two-story, one-cell rubble stone kitchen and two-story, three-bay, single-cell spring house. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.

The George Washington and Jefferson National Forests is an administrative entity combining two U.S. National Forests into one of the largest areas of public land in the Eastern United States. The forests cover 1.8 million acres (2,800 sq mi) of land in the Appalachian Mountains of Virginia, West Virginia, and Kentucky. Approximately 1 million acres (1,600 sq mi) of the forest are remote and undeveloped and 139,461 acres (218 sq mi) have been designated as wilderness areas, which prohibits future development.
