Lehner Grain-and-Cider Mill and House is a historic structure located at 548 and 560 Penn Street in Verona, Pennsylvania. It was built circa 1895. Charles Lehner, who built the mill, and his wife Mary Magdalene Huber immigrated from Austria to Pittsburgh's North Side and later to Verona. The mill began operating in 1896. Lehner died in 1908 and the mill was run by his son Joseph until 1920 when he tragically passed and his wife of three daughters had to sell it. Christine Davis Consultants, who work in archeological studies and historic preservation, bought the mill in the 1990s.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on October 24, 1996.

Verona is a borough in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, in the United States. It is 13 miles (21 km) northeast of downtown Pittsburgh, along the left bank of the Allegheny River. As of the 2010 census it had a population of 2,474.

The Dr. Thomas R. Kerr House and Office at 438 4th Street in Oakmont, Pennsylvania, USA, was built in 1897. The Queen Anne house and the doctor's office behind the house were added to the National Register of Historic Places on September 2, 2003.The building now houses the Kerr Memorial Museum which shows the upper middle class lives of the doctor, his wife Nellie, and their daughter Virginia, in the period of 1900–1910. Virginia taught English at the local schools for 42 years. She never married and donated the house to the Borough of Oakmont on her death in 1994.

Oakmont is a borough in Allegheny County, in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. It is a Pittsburgh suburb and part of the Pittsburgh Metro Area. The population was 6,303 as of the 2010 Census.Incorporated as a town in 1889, this Allegheny River community began in 1816 when a farmer, Michael Bright, bought a large tract of land 15 miles (24 km) northeast of Pittsburgh. The settlement took its name from a landmark tree, as the deed description reads, "Beginning at a black oak on the bank of the Allegheny River ..." The borough is best known for the nearby Oakmont Country Club, a premier golf course which has been the site of numerous U.S. Open golf tournaments, including the 2016 U.S. Open.

Ninemile Island is an alluvial island in the Allegheny River in the city of Penn Hills, Pennsylvania. It lies southeast of, and parallel to the larger Sycamore Island, which lies in the borough of Blawnox, Allegheny County in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania.

Sycamore Island is an alluvial island in the Allegheny River parallel to Ninemile Island in the borough of Blawnox, Allegheny County in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. Sycamore Island is the last remaining privately owned undeveloped island in Allegheny County. The island hosts a unique floodplain hardwood forest – among the most rare plant community types globally. The Allegheny County Natural Heritage Inventory included Sycamore Island as part of the “Allegheny River Biological Diversity Area” which has a ranking of High Significance. On December 28, 2007, Allegheny Land Trust acquired the 14-acre (57,000 m2) Sycamore Island with Colcom Foundation providing full funding for its conservation. “The conservation of Sycamore Island through the generous support of the Colcom Foundation ensures that this undeveloped island and its ecological, educational and recreational benefits will be forever protected,” said Roy Kraynyk, Executive Director of the Allegheny Land Trust. “This is an extremely exciting project,” said Colcom Program Director Carol Zagrocki. “Sycamore Island is truly a rare conservation opportunity in the county.”

Riverview Junior-Senior High School is a six-year junior and senior high school located in Oakmont, Pennsylvania. The school has approximately 430 students and serves Oakmont, Pennsylvania and Verona, Pennsylvania.

Wyckoff-Mason House is a log house located at 6133 Verona Road in Penn Hills Township, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, USA. It was built in 1774 and 1775 by Isaac Wyckoff. The house was added to the List of Pittsburgh History and Landmarks Foundation Historic Landmarks in 1970.

Blawnox is a borough in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 1,432 at the 2010 census.

The Jonathon Hulton Bridge, built in 1908, was the first major bridge designed by Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. Spanning the Allegheny River, it connected the eastern Pittsburgh suburbs of Oakmont and Harmarville, Pennsylvania. The bridge was demolished successfully with explosives at 9:49 a.m. on January 26, 2016.

The Allegheny County Workhouse was a prison that was located adjacent to the town of Blawnox, Pennsylvania. Its full name was "Allegheny County Workhouse and Inebriate Asylum". The first inmates were received in 1869, and the facility closed in 1971. The prison housed mostly inmates convicted of minor offenses. Many of those prisoners maintained a farm of about 1100 acres (445 ha), which contained apple orchards as well as many other crops and many different types of farm animals.

Inventionland is a Pittsburgh-based immersive work environment and idea incubator where creative projects are brought to life. Inventionland was conceived by George Davison. Nathan Field served as the executive creative coach, and Joey Warren acted as senior concept designer. According to George Davison, his intention in building Inventionland was to provide a creative work environment in which artists, graphic designers, industrial designers and others could design, develop and create prototypes.
