Rouge River (Laurentides)

L'Orignal () is a Franco-Ontarian village and former municipality, now part of Champlain Township in eastern Ontario, Canada. Its population in 2016 was 1,450. L'Orignal likely took its name from its location on the Ottawa River once known as Pointe à l'Orignal (French for "Moose Point"), where moose crossed the river. It was one of the seigneuries of New France.

L'Orignal Jail is a former jail in L'Orignal, Ontario, Canada built between 1824 and 1825 and decommissioned in 1998. It has since been restored and opened for guided tours during the summer. L'original has had 5 hangings.

It is a predominantly Francophone community situated along the southern border of Quebec between Montreal and Ottawa. Most of the population of just over 2,800 live in a rural setting; the villages of Calumet and Pointe-au-Chêne comprise under 1,000 residents in total.

CHPR-FM is a Canadian radio station, which airs at 102.1 FM in Hawkesbury, Ontario. Owned and operated by Cogeco following its 2018 acquisition of most of the stations formerly owned by RNC Media, the station airs a francophone adult contemporary format branded as Wow 104,9 102,1 FM. The station airs a mix of locally produced programming and simulcasting of RNC's CJLA-FM in Lachute, Quebec. Despite simulcasting the majority of its programming, CHPR-FM is one of only four all-francophone commercial radio stations licensed to communities in Ontario; the other three stations are all in Northeastern Ontario and are owned by Le5 Communications. CHPR-FM is also Cogeco's only broadcasting property outside Quebec, apart from its cable systems.

Chenail Island (officially in French: Ile du Chenail) is an uninhabited island in the Ottawa River of Ontario, Canada. It is part of the town of Hawkesbury, Ontario, and across the river from Grenville, Quebec. The only road on the island, the four-lane St. John Street, connects Ontario Highway 34 in Hawkesbury and Quebec Route 344 in Grenville via the Perley Bridge (1931 to 1998) and its replacement, the Long-Sault Bridge.

Hawkesbury is a town in Prescott-Russell county in Eastern Ontario, Canada. A majority of its 10,550 inhabitants are francophone. The Long-Sault Bridge links it to Grenville, Quebec to the north. This bridge, crossing Chenail Island, is the only interprovincial bridge between Ontario and Quebec east of Ottawa. Hawkesbury is about halfway between Ottawa and Montréal.

The Long-Sault Bridge (French: Pont du Long-Sault) is a bridge connecting Hawkesbury, Ontario and Grenville, Quebec. It crosses the Ottawa River via Chenail Island. It connects Quebec Route 344 and Ontario Highway 34. The bridge was built and completed in 1998 to replace the original Perley Bridge built in 1931 (and which was demolished in 1999).
