Herzberg am Harz (Esperanto: Hercbergo-ĉe-Harco) is a town in the Göttingen district of Lower Saxony, Germany.

Kleine Steinau is a river of Lower Saxony, Germany. It is a 9.1-kilometre-long (5.7 mi) tributary of the Sieber, north of Herzberg am Harz in the district of Göttingen. The Kleine Steina rises at about 690 m (2,260 ft) between the Schindelkopf mountain and the Spießerklippe crags on the ridge of Auf dem Acker. It initially flows in a westerly direction, but later swings south before emptying into the River Sieber near the small settlement of Aschenhütte, not far from the mouth of the Große Steinau. In the upper reaches of the Kleine Steinau it is also called the Schindelgraben, although it is not clear from the maps at which point the name changes.

Kleine Lonau is a tributary of the Große Lonau in Lower Saxony, Germany. It rises at a height of 650 metres and flows through the Mariental valley to Lonau, where it merges with the Große Lonau. It is about 4.2 km (2.6 mi) long.

Pöhlde is a village in southern Lower Saxony in Germany. It is part of the town Herzberg am Harz. It has a population of 2207 (1 October 2006). Archaeological excavation has revealed traces of settlement dating to the 2nd through 4th centuries AD. The town is noted for its Benedictine (later Premonstratensian) abbey. The Annals of Pöhlde, an important 12th century historical text, were composed here.

Lonau is a small village with a population of about 345 situated at an elevation of about 400m in the Harz Mountains of Northern Germany. Besides the clean air and lush forests, it is famous for the capercaillie. It belongs to the city of Herzberg am Harz which is about 4 km to the south. The rivers Große Lonau and Kleine Lonau join here.

The Großer Mittelberg (the short form Mittelberg is also common) is a ridge in the Harz Mountains of Germany that begins immediately northeast of Lonau in the district of Göttingen in Lower Saxony. It separates the valley of Kirchtal, through which the Große Lonau flows, from the Mariental and the Kleine Lonau. is Although it is the nearest subpeak to the village of Lonau, the Großer Mittelberg is, at 531 metres, not the highest point, but may be viewed as a main summit due to its prominent location. From here on, the ridge only climbs gently in a northeasterly direction and has several more subpeaks with small wind gaps. To the north the Großer Mittelberg transitions to the ridge of Auf dem Acker without any noticeable wind gap. The Großer Mittelberg is almost entirely covered in beech woods and lies within the Harz National Park.

Kleine Schweimke is a small river of Lower Saxony, Germany. It flows into the Große Schweimke southeast of Osterode am Harz.
