PTC Therapeutics is a US pharmaceutical company focused on the development of orally administered small molecule drugs and gene therapy which regulate gene expression by targeting post-transcriptional control (PTC) mechanisms in orphan diseases.In September 2009, PTC entered into an agreement with Roche for the development of orally bioavailable small molecules for central nervous system diseases. In 2020, PTC announced the FDA approval of Evrysdi™ (risdiplam) for the treatment of spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) in adults and children 2 months and older, in partnership with the SMA Foundation and Roche. PTC acquired the Bio-e platform in 2019. The Bio-e platform utilizes expertise in electron-transfer chemistry to modulate key biological processes beyond the reach of current drug development approaches. The lead compounds from the Bio-e platform, PTC743 and PTC857, target the enzyme 15-lipoxygenase – a key enzymatic hub that regulates the inflammation and oxidative stress that underpin mitochondrial disease and CNS pathology. Two pivotal studies will investigate the safety and efficacy of PTC743: a Phase 2/3 trial in refractory mitochondrial epilepsy and a Phase 3 trial in Friedreich’s ataxia.

The Plainfield Curling Club (or PCC) is a nonprofit curling club located in South Plainfield, New Jersey. It owns and operates the only dedicated curling facility in New Jersey. It was founded in 1963, with the members initially using rented ice and curling outdoors. The current two-sheet structure was completed in 1967. The PCC season runs from late October through early April. As of the 2018–2019 season, the club holds league play seven days per week, hosts six annual bonspiels, and has programs for juniors (teenagers) and “little rockers” (ages 6–12). It also hosts supervised programs for members of the public to try curling. The club had a significant increase in membership for the 2002–2003 season, after U.S. television coverage of curling in the 2002 Winter Olympics increased awareness of the sport. There was a similar spike in membership for the 2006–2007 season due to the 2006 Winter Olympics television coverage. Interest in the sport at the club again peaked after the 2010 Winter Olympics.Plainfield Curling Club is part of the Grand National Curling Club and part of the United States Curling Association.

New Durham was an unincorporated community and now a neighborhood located within Edison in Middlesex County, New Jersey, United States, south of Dismal Swamp. Along with Piscatawaytown, Bonhamtown, New Dover and Stelton, New Durham is one of the older historical crossroad communities established in Edison (either as once part of Piscataway or Woodbridge before the establishment of Raritan Township, as Edison was earlier known). It was described in 1834 as having a tavern, a store, and a half-dozen dwellings.

The Benjamin Shotwell House, or the Shotwell-Runyon House, is a historic house in Edison, Middlesex County, New Jersey. The house was listed on the New Jersey Register of Historic Places and National Register of Historic Places in 1987. The farm on which is located in part of Route 287. The Shotwells were early settlers of "The Plains", an early reference to Plainfield, New Jersey.

Piscataway Technical High School (also known as MCVTS at Piscataway, Piscataway Tech and Piscataway Campus) is a four-year career academy and college preparatory magnet public high school located in Piscataway in Middlesex County, New Jersey, United States, that serves students in ninth through twelfth grades of many diverse cultures from all over Middlesex County as part of the Middlesex County Vocational and Technical Schools. As of the 2019–20 school year, the school had an enrollment of 611 students and 61.0 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 10.0:1. There were 343 students (56.1% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 49 (8.0% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.

Rutgers Business School – Newark and New Brunswick (also known as the Rutgers Business School, or RBS) is the graduate and undergraduate business school located on the Newark and New Brunswick campuses of Rutgers University. It was founded in 1929. It operated under several different names (the undergraduate Rutgers School of Business in New Brunswick and the Rutgers Graduate School of Management in Newark) before consolidating into Rutgers Business School. (The Rutgers School of Business in Camden remained a separate business school under the Rutgers University umbrella but was not part of the Newark/New Brunswick consolidation.) The School of Management and Labor Relations (SMLR) is an industrial relations and professional school of Rutgers University. On June 19, 1947, New Jersey Governor Alfred Driscoll signed into law legislation which formally established the Institute for Management and Labor Relations (IMLR). In 1994 the Rutgers University Board of Governors approved a resolution that restructured IMLR as the School of Management and Labor Relations (SMLR). SMLR is housed at two locations on the Cook and Livingston campuses of Rutgers–New Brunswick.

The BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir in Edison, New Jersey is a Hindu temple built by the BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha, a Hindu denomination within the Swaminarayan Sampradaya. The first BAPS mandir built in Edison was consecrated by Pramukh Swami Maharaj in August 1996. In 2019, a new mandir was built on the same property and a re-inauguration ceremony was conducted by senior monastic disciples. The central shrine of the mandir houses the sacred images of Bhagwan Swaminarayan and Gunatitanand Swami, also known as Akshar-Purshottam Maharaj.
