The 1962 PGA Championship was the 44th PGA Championship, played July 19–22 at Aronimink Golf Club in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania, a suburb west of Philadelphia. Gary Player won the first of his two PGA Championships, one stroke ahead of runner-up Bob Goalby, for the third of his nine major titles and the third leg of his career grand slam. The Open Championship was played the previous week in Troon, Scotland, the first of five times in the 1960s that these two majors were played in consecutive weeks in July. The PGA Championship moved permanently to August in 1969 (except 1971, when it was played in late February). Player missed the 36-hole cut at Troon, the British Open was won by Arnold Palmer for the second straight year. Palmer had also won the Masters in April. Both the U.S. Open and PGA Championship were played in his home state of Pennsylvania in 1962, just five weeks apart. Palmer lost to 22-year-old Jack Nicklaus in an 18-hole playoff at the U.S. Open at Oakmont near Pittsburgh, then finished ten strokes back in a tie for 17th at Aronimink.Jack Nicklaus, age 22, shot a final round 67 to finish in a tie for third in his first PGA Championship.This championship was originally scheduled for Brentwood Country Club in Los Angeles, the first in California since 1929. In November 1960, the PGA of America had voted to retain its "caucasian only" clause, and had gained the ire of California's attorney general Stanley Mosk, who threatened to shut down the PGA in the state until the clause was removed. In response, the championship for 1962 was moved from Los Angeles to Philadelphia. The PGA of America dropped the clause in November 1961 by amending its constitution. The championship returned to California in 1977 at Pebble Beach, but was not played in southern California until 1983 at Riviera.

The Crosley–Garrett Mill Workers' Housing, Store, and Mill Site, also known as Paper Mill House and the William Crosley Store and Mill Workers' House, is a historic mill-related complex located on Darby Creek in Newtown Township, Delaware County, Pennsylvania. The complex consists of a four-family stone Workers' Housing unit (1828), with an attached store (1845), and the archaeological remains of William Crosley's Woolen Mill (1828-1861) and Casper S. Garrett's Union Paper Mill (1869-1889). The buildings house the Paper Mill House Museum and headquarters of the Newtown Square Historical Society.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2003.

Wyola is an unincorporated community in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, United States. Wyola is located at 40°0'29"N 75°25'8"W. The location is now a traffic circle connecting St. David's Road to Pennsylvania Route 252 near the campus of the Episcopal Academy. Wyola's entry in the 1894 book Biographical and Historical Cyclopedia of Delaware County, Pennsylvania reads in full, "Wyola has a store, postoffice, and seven houses."

Square Tavern, also known as the John West House, The Square, and Newtown Square Tavern, is a historic tavern located at Newtown Square, Delaware County, Pennsylvania. The original section was completed in 1742, and is a 2 1/2-story, rectangular gable roofed brick building, measuring 32 feet wide and 28 feet deep. A small two-story kitchen addition was built sometime before 1798, and later replaced with a two-story wing. The wing was removed during the 1981 restoration, which returned the building to its 1742 appearance. The building serves as a museum and home to the Delaware County Tourist Bureau.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.

Waterloo Mills Historic District, also known as Cabbage Town, is a national historic district located in Easttown Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania. It encompasses 11 contributing buildings, 1 contributing site, and 3 contributing structures in the crossroads village of Waterloo Mills. Most date to the 19th century, and are primarily built of rubble fieldstone. They include the Davis / Gallagher farmhouse (c. 1800), the Waterloo Mill (1796-1798), the wheelwright / blacksmith shop (1891), three residences (1804, c. 1820, and c. 1830), a dairy barn (c. 1890), and several outbuildings. The district properties are owned by a single owner, who placed most of the land under protective easement in 1993.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1995.

St. David's Episcopal Church, often known as St. David's at Radnor or, less often, as Old St. David's, is a parish of the Episcopal Church in the United States of America, founded in the early 18th century and named after the Patron Saint of Wales. A Book of Common Prayer, given as a gift to Lydia Leamy in 1854, refers to St. David's as "Radnor Church". It has grown to be the largest congregation in the Episcopal Diocese of Pennsylvania, with some 950 active families and 3,000 members. The original church building, built in 1715 and the subject of a Longfellow poem, still stands. It is in nearly the same condition as when it was built, several new buildings having been constructed to house the growing congregation. The adjacent graveyard is a part of the historic site. The church property is divided by the borders of three townships, in two counties, often causing confusion as to the church's location. The church office is located at 763 South Valley Forge Road in Wayne, Radnor Township, Delaware County, Pennsylvania.

The Episcopal Academy, founded in 1785, is a private, co-educational school for grades Pre-K through 12 based in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania. Prior to 2008, the main campus was located in Merion and the satellite campus was located in Devon. The Newtown Square facility is on a 123-acre (0.50 km2) campus. Episcopal Academy has been consistently ranked as a top private school in the nation by various media outlets, including The Wall Street Journal. The Academy is affiliated with the Episcopal Church in the United States of America.

The Newtown Square Friends Meeting House is a historic Quaker meetinghouse in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania, United States, built in 1711 and expanded in 1791 and 1891. It has housed, and continues to house, Quaker meetings for worship for over 300 years.

Little Darby Creek is a tributary of Darby Creek in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, in the United States. It is approximately 2.6 miles (4.2 km) long and flows through Radnor Township.

Newtown Township is a township in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, United States. Prior to 1789 it was part of Chester County. The population was 12,216 as of the 2010 census, and was 19,705 as of 2017.

Delaware County Christian School (also known as "DCCS" or just "DC") is a PK2 to 12 independent, coeducational, interdenominational day school with an enrollment of approximately 700 students located on two campuses in Newtown Square and Devon, Pennsylvania in the United States. The school's official mission is "to educate students who will serve God and impact the world through biblical thought and action." Originally only at the Malin Road campus on the grounds of the George W. Strawbridge, Jr. estate, it expanded in 1968 with the purchase of the Alice Grim school at Bishop Hollow Rd. and West Chester Pike for grades K-5. In 2009, DC made an arrangement with The Episcopal Academy to exchange campuses which allowed DC to move the Elementary program to the more spacious and accommodating facility in Devon, PA. Until 2007, DC was a member of the Southern Chester County League (SCCL). Almost the entire SCCL was absorbed into the Ches-Mont League except for Garnet Valley High School, Devon Preparatory School, and DC (the latter two were the league's smallest members). For the 2008-2009 academic year DC, joined the Bicentennial League rejoining former SCCL rival Devon Prep. The school's mascot is The Knight and its colors are green and white. The Varsity boys lacrosse team is currently a part of the Tri-County League.

Chanticleer Garden is a forty-eight-acre botanical garden built on the grounds of the Rosengarten estate at 786 Church Road in Wayne, Pennsylvania. Located on Philadelphia's historic Main Line, Chanticleer retains a domestic scale and is welcoming to visitors for relaxation, walking, and picnics. The grounds became open to the public in 1993. Visitors are welcome to tour the estate seasonally, from April through October. The house and grounds were added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.
