St. Peter's Cathedral is the Roman Catholic cathedral at 315 Wyoming Avenue in Scranton, Pennsylvania, and is the mother church of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Scranton. The entire St. Peter's Cathedral Complex is listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.

The St. Patrick's Parade Day in Scranton or Parade Day is one of the largest Saint Patrick's Day parades in the United States. It is held in Scranton, Pennsylvania every year on the Saturday of the weekend before St. Patrick's Day - even if St Patrick's day falls on a Saturday or Sunday. For Example, in 2013, St. Patrick's Day was on a Sunday, and the Parade was held on the Saturday of the previous weekend - March 9. The date of the parade is commonly referred to as "Parade Day". Festivities begin with a mass at 10:00 am at St Peter's Cathedral. The mass is followed by a 2-mile footrace of the parade route at 11:00, an hour later the parade begins. Each year, thousands of people line the streets of downtown Scranton on Parade Day to take part in one of the city's greatest traditions. The city has hosted a St. Patrick's Day Parade since early in its history, with the current iteration being held annually since 1862. The Parade is sponsored and organized by the St. Patrick's Day Parade Association of Lackawanna County. Attendance for the 2008 parade, which featured appearances by Bertie Ahern, Hillary Clinton, and Andy Buckley of The Office, was estimated to be as high as 150,000 people. The parade usually involves about 12,000 participants, including bagpipers, Irish stepdancers, high school bands, local organizations and other Irish groups. The 2020 parade was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. And 2021 was rescheduled to mid-September. Other cancellations were in 1917–18 & 1942–45.

Scranton City Hall is located at Washington and Mulberry (US 11/PA 307) streets in the downtown section of that city in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. It is a three-story limestone ashlar Victorian Gothic Revival building with sandstone trim, designed by architects Edwin L. Walter and Frederick Lord Brown and built in 1888.The main building, on Washington Street, houses the offices of city's mayor and other executive officers — city clerk, comptroller and police chief - and those who work under their immediate supervision. A bridge from the second story connects it to the fire department headquarters, facing Mulberry Street, built at the same time by the same architects in the same style. Since the two form a larger complex, they were listed together when the building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1981 as Municipal Building and Central Fire Station, 340.

The William J. Nealon Federal Building and United States Courthouse is a courthouse of the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, located in Scranton, Pennsylvania. It was completed in 1931, and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2018.

Scranton Chamber of Commerce Building is a historic commercial building located at Scranton, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania. It was built in 1926, and alterations were made around 1991. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2011.

The Steamtown Marathon is an annual marathon (26.2 mi or 42.2 km) in northeastern Pennsylvania, held the Sunday before Columbus Day. The race starts at Forest City High School in Forest City and finishes at Courthouse Square in downtown Scranton. The race has a limit of 3000 runners, and usually sells out.

The Lackawanna County Courthouse is an historic courthouse building that is located in Scranton, Lackawanna County, in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania.

Dime Bank Building, also known as the Dime Bank & Trust Company Building, is a historic commercial building located at Scranton, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania. It is a five-story brick building in the Richardsonian Romanesque style. The original three-story building was built in 1890-1891, and measured 70 by 70 feet (21 by 21 m). Soon after, an additional two-stories were added, as well as a wing measuring 30 by 175 feet (9.1 by 53.3 m). In 1908, the building was again expanded with a concrete and slab fireproof wing. The facade features a delicately ornamented bay window, five-story turret, and three-story rectangular projection terminated at the third floor by a large arched masonry opening. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. It is located in the Lackawanna Avenue Commercial Historic District.

The Grand Army of the Republic Building is an historic Grand Army of the Republic building, which is located in Scranton, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.

The Finch Building is located on Wyoming Avenue, just north of US 11 and PA 307, in downtown Scranton, Pennsylvania, United States. It is a stone building designed by William Scott-Collins in the Renaissance revival style and completed in 1899. It takes its name from the Finch Manufacturing Company, a maker of finished steel products such as manhole covers that had been based in the city for much of the later 19th century. Its first occupant was the International Correspondence School, a business that offered study-by-mail classes to the many coal miners in the Northeastern Pennsylvania region. The school, founded in 1894, had quickly outgrown its offices at the nearby Coal Exchange Building and needed the space. Later it was used as offices for the Hudson Coal Company.In 1976 it was added to the National Register of Historic Places. Today it has been remodeled into an apartment building called Finch Towers.

The Ad-Lin Building, also known as Linden Plaza, is an historic, American commercial building that is located in Scranton, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.

The Scranton Cultural Center at the Masonic Temple (formerly the Masonic Temple and Scottish Rite Cathedral) is a theatre and cultural center in Scranton, Pennsylvania. The Cultural Center's mission statement is "to rejuvenate a national architectural structure as a regional center for arts, education and community activities appealing to all ages." The Cultural Center hosts national Broadway tours; professional and local musical and dramatic theatre offerings; local, regional and national orchestral and popular music, dance and opera; comedians, lecturers, art exhibits, a children's and performing arts academy and various classes as well as fundraiser galas and special events including proms, luncheons, private parties and is a popular wedding ceremony and reception venue. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
