Brynamman West railway station served the village of Brynamman, in the historical county of Glamorganshire, Wales, from 1865 to 1964 on the Llanelly Railway.

Brynamman East railway station served the village of Brynamman, in the historical county of Glamorganshire, Wales, from 1868 to 1964 on the Swansea Vale Railway.

Lower Brynamman is an electoral ward of Neath Port Talbot county borough in Brynamman, Wales.

The Cwm Llwyd Fault is a fault in the west of the Black Mountain of South Wales. It runs north, parallel to the A4069 road, for over 4 km from near Brynaman to meet the Carreg Cennen Disturbance near Brest Cwm Llwyd. It moved as a sinistral (left lateral) strike-slip fault during the Variscan Orogeny. Together with the Llwyn Celyn Fault it formed a left-stepping offset that created a pull apart structure, which preserved the Cwm Llwyd Outlier of Namurian rocks.

Gwaun-Cae-Gurwen (Welsh: Gwauncaegurwen) is a village and community in Neath Port Talbot, South West Wales. Historically a part of Glamorgan, Gwaun-Cae-Gurwen is a parish made up of the electoral wards of Gwaun-Cae-Gurwen and Lower Brynamman.

Gwaun-Cae-Gurwen is an electoral ward of Neath Port Talbot county borough, Wales. The ward of Gwaun-Cae-Gurwen along with the Lower Brynamman electoral ward makes up the parish of Gwaun-Cae-Gurwen. Gwaun-Cae-Gurwen consists of some or all of the following settlements: Cwmgors, Gwaun-Cae-Gurwen and Gwaun-Leision in the parliamentary constituency of Neath. Gwaun-Cae-Gurwen consists of a built up area to the west and north, surrounded by farmland. The south eastern part of the ward consists of open moorland. Gwaun-Cae-Gurwen is bounded by the wards of Quarter Bach of Carmarthenshire to the north; Lower Brynamman and Cwmllynfell to the east; Pontardawe to the south; and Glanamman of Carmarthenshire to the west. In the 2017 local council elections, the electorate turnout was %. The results were:

Garnant is a mining village in the valley of the River Amman in Carmarthenshire, Wales, north of Swansea. Like the neighbouring village of Glanamman it experienced a coal-mining boom in the 19th and early 20th centuries, but the last big colliery closed in 1936 and coal has been extracted fitfully since then. The village has the only Commissioners' church built in southwest Wales, traditionally a Methodist region.

Garnant railway station served the village of Garnant, Carmarthenshire, Wales, from 1840 to 1958 on the Brynamman Branch.

Tair Carn Uchaf (Welsh for 'Upper Three Cairns') is a hill in the Brecon Beacons National Park (Welsh: Parc Cenedlaethol Bannau Brycheiniog) in the county of Carmarthenshire, Wales. Its summit sits atop a plateau-like ridge at 482 metres (1,580 ft) above sea level and is marked by one of the three huge cairns which give the mountain its name. The main ridge leads southwest towards the subsidiary top of Tair Carn Isaf ("Lower Three Cairns", 51.8344°N 3.9113°W / 51.8344; -3.9113 (Tair Carn Isaf)), which hosts further cairns. The summit of this top lies at 460 metres (1,510 ft), whilst a trig point just to its southwest lies at a height of 459 metres (1505'). To the south of the main ridge lies the subsidiary peak of Drysgol which reaches a height of 393 metres (1,290 ft).

Cwmgors is a village in the county of Glamorgan, and administered as part of the unitary authority borough of Neath Port Talbot, Wales. It is part of the community of Gwaun-cae-Gurwen and lies within the ceremonial county of West Glamorgan. Cwmgors sits in the Neath constituency and is thus represented in Parliament by Christina Rees and in the Senedd by Jeremy Miles. Its church, Llanfair, falls under the Diocese of St David's. Its Welsh-medium primary school feeds to three local comprehensive schools, namely Ysgol Gyfun Ystalyfera for fully Welsh-medium education, Ysgol Uwchradd Dyffryn Aman for Welsh- and English-medium education, and Cwmtawe Community Comprehensive School for English-medium education.

West Glamorgan (Welsh: Gorllewin Morgannwg) is a former administrative county in South Wales. It is now a preserved county. West Glamorgan was one of the divisions of the ancient county of Glamorgan. It was created on 1 April 1974, by the Local Government Act 1972 from the county borough of Swansea, the municipal boroughs of Neath and Port Talbot, the urban districts of Glyncorrwg and Llwchwr, Gower Rural District, Pontardawe Rural District, and all of Neath Rural District except the parish of Rhigos. From 1982, the main offices of West Glamorgan County Council were located in County Hall, Swansea. West Glamorgan had four districts, as follows: Swansea – Swansea CB and Gower RD Lliw Valley – Llwchwr and Pontardawe RD Neath – Neath and Neath RD Port Talbot – Port Talbot and GlyncorrwgFollowing the Local Government (Wales) Act 1994, West Glamorgan and its component districts were abolished on 1 April 1996, the area being divided into the two unitary authorities of Swansea and Neath and Port Talbot (later changed to "Neath Port Talbot"). Lliw Valley was partitioned between the two authorities. A West Glamorgan preserved county was created for the limited functions of Lieutenancy and High Shrievalty.
