Lower Manor Estates is an unincorporated community in Alberta, Canada within Sturgeon County that is recognized as a designated place by Statistics Canada. It is located on the north side of Township Road 543A (Sturgeon Road), 3.5 km (2.2 mi) west of Highway 28. It is adjacent to the designated places of Bristol Oakes to the west and Upper and Lower Viscount Estates to the south.

It is located on the east side of Range Road 251 (Starkey Road), 3.5 km (2.2 mi) south of Highway 37. It is adjacent to the designated places of Lower Manor Estates to the east, Upper and Lower Viscount Estates to the south, and Upper Manor Estates to the northwest.

Goodridge Corners is a future neighbourhood in northwest Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Subdivision and development of the neighbourhood will be guided by the Goodridge Corners Neighbourhood Area Structure Plan (NASP), which was adopted by Edmonton City Council on February 24, 2014.It includes the Edmonton Remand Centre and the Edmonton Young Offender Centre on the east side of 127 Street, with the Edmonton Police Service's Northwest Campus and Divisional Station on the west side.It is located on the edge of Edmonton, bounded on the west by the city's boundary with St. Albert (142 Street), north by the city's boundary with Sturgeon County, east by the future realignment of 112 Street, and south by Anthony Henday Drive.

Servus Credit Union Place (or Servus Place for short) is a $43-million multipurpose leisure centre that opened on September 30, 2006 in St. Albert, Alberta. At 320,000 square feet (30,000 m2), Servus Place includes three NHL-sized arenas, an aquatic centre, fitness centre, indoor playground, leisure ice surface, three gymnasium courts, two field houses, a teaching kitchen, plus food service outlets (Booster Juice, Skybox Grill, Starbucks), and formerly a Source for Sports. It is a competitor to the Millennium Place in Sherwood Park, and TransAlta Tri Leisure Centre in Spruce Grove. The three NHL-sized arenas include the 2,023-seat Go Auto Arena, formerly home of the St. Albert Steel ice hockey team of the Alberta Junior Hockey League and the Edmonton Drillers of the Canadian Major Indoor Soccer League.The two other rinks include Mark Messier Arena, named in honour of St. Albert's famous son and hockey star Mark Messier, and Troy Murray Arena, named after Troy Murray the former NHLer from St. Albert. The Mark Messier/Troy Murray Arenas were part of the original twin Campbell Arenas, which were expanded to build the present-day Servus Place.Due to the significant cost, the decision to build Servus Place (formerly called the St. Albert Multi Purpose Leisure Centre) was put to residents in a plebiscite during the 2004 civic election. Nearly 55% of residents who cast a ballot voted in favour of building the leisure centre. The facility was supposed to be operationally self-sufficient by late 2008. In December 2007, just 14 months after opening, it was revealed that Servus Place would lose $2.2 million in its first full year of operations.

The Edmonton Remand Centre (ERC) is a correctional facility in Goodridge Corners, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The facility is operated by the Ministry of Justice and Solicitor General of Alberta. The original correctional facility originally opened in 1979, after overcrowding and additional bed space required a second facility was proposed and completed in 2012. The new facility named the New Edmonton Remand Centre (NERC) opened on April 12, 2013, and is currently Canada's largest prison.

Elmer S. Gish School (formally known as Elmer S. Gish Elementary/Junior High School), part of St. Albert Public Schools, is an Elementary-Junior High school located in St. Albert, Alberta, Canada. The school has been in operation since 1981 and was named after a St. Albert educator. The school is a double-track school, offering Kindergarten to Grade 9 in the Global and Cogito programs. The current principal is John Strembitski and the Assistant Principals are Derek Harrison and Sue Werner.

Sir Alexander Mackenzie Elementary School (SAM) is a school in St. Albert, Alberta, Canada, and is a part of St. Albert Public Schools. Opened in 1959, Alexander Mackenzie was the first Protestant school in St. Albert, and was the first school opened by its board. It was named after Alexander Mackenzie, a Scottish explorer who crossed what is now Canada. The school currently has an enrollment of 530 students.

Lorne Akins Junior High is a school in St. Albert, Alberta that teaches students in grades seven through nine. The school is named for the farmer that owned the property on which the school is currently built, first opening in 1963 as Paul Kane High School. However, in 1973 Paul Kane moved to another building, and the Lorne Akins building opened in April 1973 as a junior high, replacing the previous junior high Sir Alexander Mackenzie, which turned into an elementary school. The current principal of the school is Derek Herman, and Jennifer Suriano is the assistant principal. who took over from principal Graham Jackson. Notable alumni from the school include NHL star Jarome Iginla. The school is well known for its wrestling team the Crush, which produced nine different national champions under the 34 year coaching tenure of teacher Barrie Schulha, who retired in 2012. His wrestling program was the longest running continuous sports program at a junior high in St. Albert.The school made national news when in 2009 Lt.-Col. Gary Blenkinsop, Canada's top soldier, reacted to American media slights against the Canadian presence in Afghanistan as a part of a Lorne Akins event supporting former Lorne Akins student Cpl. Scott Alm upon his return from the war.

Leo Nickerson Elementary School is a dual-track school in St. Albert, Alberta, Canada, and is a part of St. Albert Public Schools. Opened in 1964, the elementary school was the fourth built by its school district. It was named after Leo Nickerson, a St. Albert cub scout leader who lost his life in an attempt to rescue several scouts who had been caught in the water during a sudden storm. As of 2019, the school has an enrolment of just over 630 students. The school was the first in St. Albert to have a Parent Teacher Association. It celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2014.

Edmonton-Castle Downs is a provincial electoral district in Alberta, Canada. The district is one of 87 mandated to return a single member to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta using the first past the post method of voting. The district was created in 1997 boundary redistribution when Edmonton-Roper merged with the north half of Edmonton-Mayfield. The riding has swung between Liberal and Progressive Conservative control since it was created, before returning an NDP MLA in 2015. The 2004 election was very controversial, with near even support for both the Liberal and Progressive Conservative candidates. The outcome was decided in the third recount, which resulted in Thomas Lukaszuk winning the riding by 3 votes. Neighborhoods in this riding include: Baturyn, Caernarvon, Carlisle, Beaumaris, Lorelei, Dunluce, Klarvatten, Rapperswill, Chambery & Elsinore. The riding was last contested in the 2019 election, during which the NDP incumbent, Nicole Goehring, defeated Ed Ammar of the United Conservative Party by 2,017 votes.
