Ackerdijkse Plassen

Zweth or De Zweth is a hamlet in the western Netherlands. It is located about halfway between Delft and Rotterdam, where the small river Berkelsche Zweth joins the Schie river, around a bridge across the Berkelsche Zweth. The hamlet has always been divided between the historical areas of Delfland (north) and Schieland (south). The part north of the bridge is located in the historical municipality of Ackersdijk en Vrouwenregt, currently part of Midden-Delfland, while the southern part is located in the historical municipality of Overschie, since 1941 part of Rotterdam. The two municipalities use two different spellings of the name: the official name for the northern part is "De Zweth", while the southern part is called just "Zweth". The restaurant De Zwethheul, a restaurant with two Michelin stars, is located there.

Ackersdijk en Vrouwenregt is a former municipality in the Dutch province of South Holland, located about halfway between Delft and Schiedam. It existed from 1817 to 1855, when it was joined to the municipality of Vrijenban. The area is now part of the municipalities of Midden-Delfland, Delft, and Pijnacker-Nootdorp. The municipality had about 150 inhabitants.

Ruiven is a former municipality in the Dutch province of South Holland. It was located about 4 km southeast of the city of Delft. Ruiven was a separate municipality between 1817 and 1846, when it became part of Pijnacker.

De Zwethheul is a defunct restaurant located in Zweth, Netherlands. It was a fine dining restaurant that was awarded one Michelin star in the period 1990-2004 and two Michelin stars in the period 2005–2014. De restaurant closed on 8 January 2015 and was replaced by restaurant "Aan de Zweth".Last head chef was Mario Ridder, who took over in 2006 from Erik van Loo. Cees Wildschut earned the first ever star for the restaurant.

Abtsregt is a former municipality in the Dutch province of South Holland. It was located about 4 km southeast of Delft. The municipality existed from 1817 to 1855, when it merged with Vrijenban. It had around 200 inhabitants at that time. According to historian Van der Aa, the name of the area ("Abbot's right") derives from an ancient privilege of the abbot of Egmond. Until 1595, he was entitled to choose the best property of any inhabitant of Abtsregt who died in the area.

The Technopolis Innovation Park Delft (or Technopolis) is a science park in Delft, Netherlands started in 2005. Technopolis is next to the campus of Delft University of Technology. The park covers 70 hectares (168 acres) which is available for companies and institutes conducting research and development.

Delta Flume is a 300 meter long man-made flume with a wave generator that is capable of producing waves as tall as five meters, the world's largest artificial waves. It is located at the Deltares Research Institute outside the city of Delft, Netherlands. It is used to simulate forces generated by natural waves in order to test materials used in the construction of dykes. Especially for testing the effect of vegetation the full scale testing is essential.

The Reactor Institute Delft (Dutch: Reactor Instituut Delft), or RID, is a nuclear research institute at Delft University of Technology in Delft, Netherlands. The institute features the Hoger Onderwijs Reactor (HOR, Dutch: Higher Education Reactor), a 2 MWt pool-type research reactor. Neutron research instruments are developed using several neutron beam lines leading from the core. One of the most intense positron beam lines in the world is powered by gamma-pair production near the reactor core.

Zestienhoven is a neighborhood of Rotterdam, Netherlands and is part of the borough Overschie. Zestienhoven is the largest district in Overschie, but is sparsely populated. The Polder Zestienhoven is within the district, east of the urban area of Overschie. On the east side is the neighborhood Schiebroek and on the north side Rotterdam The Hague Airport.

Rotterdam The Hague Airport (formerly Rotterdam Airport, Vliegveld Zestienhoven in Dutch), (IATA: RTM, ICAO: EHRD) is a minor international airport serving Rotterdam, the Netherlands' second largest city and The Hague, its administrative and royal capital. It is located 3 NM (5.6 km; 3.5 mi) north northwest of Rotterdam in South Holland and is the third busiest airport in the Netherlands. The airport handled over 2.1 million passengers in 2019 and features scheduled flights to European metropolitan and leisure destinations. It is also used extensively by general aviation and there are several flying clubs, a skydiving club and a flight training school located at the airport.

Delft Aerospace Rocket Engineering is a student-run society within Delft University of Technology, with over 190 members. The main focus of the student group is the development of rocket technology on a non-profit basis. All development, from engines to electronics, is done in-house. Although several projects take place in DARE, the group's two flagship projects are Stratos and Project Sparrow. Stratos includes the Stratos I rocket which was launched in 2009 and set the European altitude record for amateur rocketry at 12.5 km. The follow-up of this rocket was the Stratos II+, which was launched on 16 October 2015, reaching an altitude of 21.5 km and breaking the European altitude record. In summer of 2018, Stratos III was launched, disintegrating 20 seconds after the launch. Its successor, Stratos IV, is currently in development. Project Sparrow is the newest project, working on a liquid-fueled rocket engine, which will be designed to go beyond the Kármán line. Even though DARE cooperates with the military to safely conduct launch campaigns, DARE's technology is strictly non-military. Approximately 70 percent of members come from the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering of Delft University of Technology, with the remaining 30% coming from other faculties, including Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics and Industrial Design. DARE also features a very high number of international students, with about half of the students coming from outside the Netherlands.
